absolutely fabulous bedside book to read a few breeds before snoozing. Written in a gorgeously pompous voice, by a guy who really loved dogs. I smiled all the way through the little messages, with the Samoyed page being one of my favourites. Lovely book for all ages, and I learned a lot I didn’t know! but am so sad that there was no representation for my own little coton de tulear! yet!

Not my usual sort of reading material. My dog obsessed 8 year old son has been borrowing this book from his school library continuously all term. The only I way I can actually get him to do his reading at home is if he reads this book to me. I'm learning a lot about dogs!

Favorites: Deerhound ("highly companionable") & Irish Wolfhound ("such delightful dogs to live with").

Breed I hadn't known about before: Affenpinsher ("said to resemble a monkey facially")
