Billionaire Theo Savas didn't need marriage. He'd been there, done that and he wasn't doing it again. Not that it stopped nearly every single woman on the planet trying. Theo wanted space, maybe even a bit of celibacy. So he was furious when he'd just got himself settled in an isolated house on a Greek island--and came downstairs to discover Martha Antonides letting herself in!
But forced together, passion overcame them. Eventually, of course, Theo went back to his bachelor lifestyle...and Martha discovered she was pregnant. She knew she couldn't turn to Theo--he was strictly a no-strings man.
Anne McAllister has written nearly 70 romance novels for Tule Publishing and Harlequin Books.
She has won two RITA awards from the Romance Writers of America — for COWBOY PRIDE and THE STARDUST COWBOY — and has had nine other books which were RITA finalists.
Her books have also been finalists for the National Readers’ Choice Award. She was named Midwest Fiction Writers “Writer of the Year” and also received Romantic Times’ Career Achievement Award as “Series Author of the Year.”
But while the awards and sales are wonderful, Anne thinks the best part of writing is telling the story. With every new book she writes, she meets new characters – or gets to know old ones even better – and discovers what makes them and their relationships tick.
It’s the relationships that interest her most and the question about “where do you get your ideas?” has always astonished her as she has more ideas than she knows what to do with!
Heroine leaves her cheating boyfriend and goes to Santorini. What she doesn't know is that her father sold their house to Theo Savvas a tycoon who is in Santorini trying to escape women/fans chasing him.
Martha is determined to lose her virginity and naturally Theo obliges her. They spend a few days together and Martha falls for him but one morning Theo is gone.
Six months later they meet again at his sister's wedding. Martha is very pregnant and Theo is very determined to marry her but Martha wants to marry for love and not out of obligation.
Sweet love story. Martha makes Theo grovel hard and poor guy truly loves her but he is so clueless. I loved the way he expressed his feelings in the end and their adorable HEA with their baby boy.
I still don't get how the hero made his living. He sails boats around and was named "sexiest sailor" or something like that. Who knew that was a thing, even an HP thing LOL?! Lots of parts seems to drag on.
Martha Antonides is running away from a cheating boyfriend. The only place she feels like home is the family home in Santorini, little does she know that her feckless father has lost the house in a bet with S. Savas. Theo Savas is in his family new acquired house in santorini, hiding from the horde of women chasing the World's sexiest Sailor. An instant attraction. A week fling...or is it more than just a fling ? Anyway Theo is running scared. What a chock for him, 6 month later, at his sister Tallie's wedding, to see a very pregnant Martha . Now he has to do the right thing and marry the mother of his child. He ll do anything to make her his wife. But Martha will only marry for love. Can he do that?!
the plot is some what repetitive Martha-Theo meet,Theo is running away from woman who chase and Martha is heart broken when she catches Julian with another woman comes to Santorini to lick her wounds but Theo's mother who wants to see him married and settled sends Casandra and there's an ex girlfriend who accompanies her so to make them go away he asks Martha to act as they are lovers when they are convinced and they leave the deal will be off Theo will go on his way and Martha can stay for 3 weeks in the house
In midst of all this both fall for each other,Martha realises and accepts her love for Theo but he is still in denial saying it only mind blowing sex anyways those two leave and Martha who is happy cause of her realisation of love for Theo is again heart broken when Theo appears to be distant and cold and he says he is leaving, she did a fabulous acting and she can stay thus leaving Martha with hurt and pain of heart breaks she also moves out and goes to Montana
They meet again after 6 months cause Theo's sister Tallie is getting married to Martha's brother and he sees Martha and her bulge and jumps to conclusion that Martha went back to that jerk Jullian and he is so jealous and angry but Martha tells him its his and as always he says they will get married
Martha knows Theo is only being noble so she refuses as she wants love not nobility and from here on we see how Martha makes Theo grovel and after much hurdles that are cleared we have HEA
Gave 4 stars cause some scenes are cute specially when Theo comes to Monatana, they spend time together and Theo realises his love for Martha and also liked they way Theo makes Martha belief that he loves her, truly loves her wants her as his wife and want to have a family with her
Following the Antonides/Savas families, this time we have Theo Savas who is vacationing at the home his father acquired from the Antonides family, when Martha Antonides arrives unexpectedly, not knowing it was no longer her house. Circumstances convince Theo to reluctantly extend a welcome to Martha. He doesn't expect that she'll extend and invitation to her bed...nor that she'll be a virgin. They end up spending a week together, convincing the women his mother sent to visit him that he was perfectly happy in his affair with Martha. He even managed to convince her. But once the week was up, he left, leaving Martha broken hearted. And, as he discovers 6 months later, pregnant. Now he wants to convince her to marry him, for the good of their child, but also for his sake, for the feelings he just can't seem to admit.
I have liked everything this author has written up to this one. She writes interesting story-lines with characters who have depth and typically aren't frustrating. Well, you can't love them all and I'm sorry to be in the minority here, but...Martha. This started out okay, but Martha pretty much shows her lack of maturity throughout the story. First, with her anger and disappointment in Theo because he left her. I can't see how Theo is in the wrong here. Yes, his attitude towards women and avoidance of commitment isn't perfect, but he was upfront and clear about the time frame of the affair. In fact, Martha is the one who said she only wanted mind-blowing sex for the rest of their time together. Maybe we can chalk this up to her being naive about sex and love and I concede that Theo should have been responsible and walked away because of this, but she should have been much better about telling herself that she was at fault here... But she spends a lot of time later bad-mouthing his promiscuous lifestyle and his love-em-and-leave-em ways, when she told Theo that's exactly what she wanted from him. She was prepared to do exactly the same thing, but because she changed her mind it's okay to put him down for it? I guess I just couldn't understand why she was so terribly angry at him.
Then there's my real hot-button issue. Not telling the father about his baby. Her excuse? She didn't think he'd want to know. That's no excuse at all actually. He wasn't an asshole or abusive and she knew how to get in touch with him. The mature thing to do is suck it up and make the call so that if he wants to be a part of things he has the option to decide. Instead, she she took it upon herself to absolve him of responsibility and decided it was her baby...and it sounds a lot like she does it out of spite more than anything. You left me, so you don't need to know about MY child. Then, after he forced an explanation from her, she refuses marriage (naturally) and then disappears again...without bothering to tell him where to find her or extending any invitation to be a part of their child's life. She wasn't making any plans beyond a vague, someday he'll want to be involved in their child's life...and the way she monologues it, it's way off in the future. It makes her seem like she's got her head in the sand so she can avoid the issue and keep him out of her (and his son's) life for a while longer. So I was quite pleased when he shows up in Montana and makes himself quite at home. And by this point I was so peeved with her behavior thus far that it didn't upset me that much that she nearly got her heart broken a second time. This is what happens to me with characters I don't like. I start kind of wanting bad things to happen to them...
Now don't get me wrong. Anne McAllister is a fantastic author. She raises the bar for Harlequin romance and has become a goto author for me. This still has a great plot with a pretty passionate first encounter, Theo is flawed and trying to figure things out. He's not perfect, as evidenced by his behavior there towards the end, but he still manages to remain sympathetic. I just wish Martha had been a bit more mature overall. I think I could have forgiven everything else if she'd just told Theo about his impending fatherhood from the start and anticipated the possibility of his involvement.

4 1/2 Stars! ~ Ever since the article proclaiming him the World's Sexiest Sailor, Theo Savas was plagued by hordes of marriage-minded women. Winning the villa on Santorini provided the perfect isolated get away he so desperately needed. Having been away from her home in New York for a month, Martha Antonides was eager to let Julian know that she'd finally made the decision to commit to a deeper relationship with him. Arriving at his apartment, and hearing him in the shower, she thought what a perfect way to show him then to join him; only Julian already had company. Her family villa on Santorini would be the perfect place to lick her wounds and learn to face the world again. Much to her surprise the villa is occupied and apparently no longer belongs to her family. Theo demands that she leaves. Martha insists that she'll be staying. And when an old flame of Theo's shows up, Theo demands Martha stay as his new girlfriend. Of course, they'll only sleep in that huge bed, he tells her. He's shocked when Martha says that she'd like him to show her exactly what it means to be the World's Sexiest Sailor. Six months after their week of bliss, they met up again in New York, where Theo discovers that Martha's pregnant. Now this no-strings marriage phobic bachelor must find a way to convince Martha to marry him.
This is my first book written by Ms. McAllister. I'm wondering how I missed such a talented author. Right from the moment they meet, Martha gets under Theo's skin. With Theo, Martha can't help herself, she just jumps right in. These two make a perfect match. Ms. McAllister has a wonderful sense of humour and this story is filled not only with emotion but marvelous wit. It was a real pleasure reading about Theo and Martha's journey to a HEA.

Didn't like the beginning but the ending made up a lot for it, though a bit short.
The whole of how they got together was a bit odd to me, with the h so vulnerable and really being annoyingly impulsive, and not really in her right mind to me. The presence of the ow, even if the H no longer is interested, is actually pretty ewwie to me. Who wants to bunk with a gal that has been to bed with the guy you're also sleeping with, yikes! Her falling for the H was understandable though seems more like she is on the rebound or she doesn't really have the mindset to think things through. Didn't like how the H acted then too.
Second part of the book really got better for me. The H is such a sweetheart taking care of our h, yet all along still v resistant to the love idea even if he is hell bent to marry her. Our h put up a good resistant to make h work for it and making this not as onesided as the beginning, and the ending is pretty cute and sweet even if it is a bit quickly wrapped up.
I would have liked it better if we are given more thoughts from the H as he seemed to be pretty lukewarm to our h quite a whiles, but anyhow still a decent read.

Martha was hiding at their family house after she saw her boyfriend fucking other woman. The house was already sold to Theo after he won the sail contest with her father. She insisted to stay. He let her and they came out with a deal for her to be his pretend gf for a whole week to ward off his ex scandal and a woman his mother sent to check on him. She decided to play the field and gave her virginity to him. At the end of the week, he left her. When he came back she was already gone. 6 months later, he saw her at Tallie and Elias’ ceremony. She was pregnant with his child! He demanded she marries him but she refused. A month later, he seeked her out at Montana doing mural and he insisted to stay with her. She let him help her and her dog became fast buddy with him. Since he didn’t answer her question of whether he loves her, she asked him to leave. At the airport, he saw her mural and he would not be afraid of love anymore. (The story behind it was, at 19 he married an older woman who treated him as rebound and then left him for another guy). So he graffittied “Theo loves Martha” at the neighbourhood wall and got arrested. She bailed him and HEA.

Rilettura a distanza di 5 anni, uguale giudizio! Carina questa serie con l'intreccio di 2 famiglie! Direttamente collegato al 4 della serie "Il potere della seduzione".
As usual, Anne McAllister has written a delightful category romance that fits none of the strictures of advertising or the back market cover copy. Theo is a sailor who has recently been named "the world's sexiest sailor" and has fled to Santorini to avoid the publicity - his billionaire status is only vaguely alluded to and frankly is completely irrelevant. Martha is fleeing an entirely realistic heartbreak. The two of them end up having a fling that, for Martha, feels like more; but she can tell Theo doesn't feel the same. When his sister marries her brother, however, they meet again - only for him to realize she's pregnant. He proposes marriage and she tells him to get bent. He pursues her and, in best caretaking alpha fashion, takes care of her while constantly proposing. McAllister doesn't devote too much sympathy to his Manpain Which Means He Cannot Love, and anyway it's low-key and relatively realistic; over all the emotions behind the whole book feel low-key and relatively realistic. This is just a nice accidental pregnancy contemporary.
A heartwarming story but would love to read a dialogue where the H said 'i love you' to h and then there were parts from the first couple of chapters that I didn't like like the h being so... wanton? Idk she was supposed to be a virgin but she surprisingly treated sex as some kind of daily occurance or just like breakfast. I understood she just got her heart broken but to act that way? A bit unbelievable and weird for me but she was a great character so I let it go.
A romance HQN style. Boy meets girl, they clash after spending time together they fall in love. Either/or (maybe both) don't recognize or accept the feelings. Finally the climax and all is well. They ride off into the sunset...
The story was good, the plot a familiar one. If you arelooking for a read that you can escape into for a couple of hours, you might enjoy thus one.
This was a very good book, one night stand leads to unexpected pregnancy. The h was beautiful , feisty and sweet, she wasn’t a pushover. The H didn’t believe in love and didn’t do relationships. He wanted to marry her out of duty but she would only marry for love. Good ending.
I Love The Beginning Of This Story, But, It Kind Of Felt Like The Arthur Lost Interest. On A Whole Not Very Realistic. What Did Theo Have Against Love Nothing His Logic Was Stupid, How Did He Become A Billionaire???, How Does Martha Do What She Do In Her Condition,? Really Not Believable. And The Ending Was Ok Until The Last Sentence Again Really.
Another Savas / Antonides story. I like this family, and it was fun to see what was behind Theo's spooked moment in Tallie's story. Maggie was cute, and I liked that it wasn't simple and easy. That the actions spelled out with the two of them. Adult content, but it worked.
Definitely my favorite of the 3 harlequins that I’ve read in the past two days. Soapy fun, and the author clearly has a good sense of humor. Also, the hero’s job is basically Beach, which I found very entertaining.
it would have been 4 star but when they moved to montana, the story got boring and slow. so i put a 3 star. it was nice overall and i could feel the love between these 2
I yawned a little bit while reading this novel, while it was nice to read and not all that bad, at times it was way too boring. Very little emotion, very little action.
