The author obviously has no true experience or she wouldn't be telling you to but 20 drops of peppermint essential oil in your body butter. Also, I saw several recipes with essential oils that do not even exist. Period. You could get better info off of the internet for free.
They put a lot of recipe, but they didn't put the purpose of every single recipe. I mean not for everybody is good for example the apple cider vinegar, so they should write for which type of skin is that particular recipe, and fire what it helps.
It’s nice that it had a variety of recipes but no mention of what kind of preservatives or suggestions or usage rates and no links were provided either. Some of the recipes would be too harsh for the underarm and skin with the amount of essential oil. Citrus essential oils on the face should have at least have some sort of warning since everyone is not familiar. For at-home recipes it would get a 3.72 star rating.
I liked the use of natural oils, body butters, and essential oils, but that is all. The use of liquid water based and oil based ingredients without the use of emulsifiers and preservatives is dangerous. Make these recipes and prepare to have a hot bed of bacteria, mold, and rot.
I was really hoping for more from this book. It's just black and white pages of recipes. No beautiful colored pictures of ingredients or finished products... Sorry, I want to feel inspired. There are quite a few recipes in here that I'm excited to try, though! Four out of five stars.
