Professor Garrett Hanlon -
Fantasies about him have consumed me since the first day of class. The fact that he’s my professor doesn’t seem to matter at all. There’s something between us, an attraction so powerful, so intense, that I can’t seem to keep my distance, even though I know I should…even though I know, he wants so much more from me than I’m willing to give. Is being with him worth ruining my entire academic future?

Jeff Walsh -
We have a “friends with benefits” relationship, and it’s been working well for us…until now. He’s the quarterback of the university’s football team, and we’ve known each other since the first day of sophomore year. We have a lot of fun together, but is it fair for us to continue this way when all I can think about is Professor Hanlon and the way he sets my body on fire with a simple touch?

I feel as though I’m on the verge of something special, something amazing, something that comes along once in a lifetime. If I could only find the courage to choose….but what if I take the chance, make the choice, and it brings me nothing but heartache?

Is falling in love really worth risking it all?

MY RATING

This is one of my most highly anticipated books for 2016, I cray cray LOVED Book #1 Waiting for Us fingers x this grabs me by the heart and doesn't let go..

Waiting for Love starts us off in the year 2012: It's the first day of my junior year and I’ve heard that Professor Hanlon is a real bastard to deal with. Hailey, my best friend, and roommate had him last year and she absolutely detested him, the only redeeming quality he has is his handsome appearance; God knows it’s not his glowing personality.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

He's the ultimate temptation wrapped in a taboo professor package.

Professor Hanlon definitely has an in your face arrogant alpha attitude about him, especially when it comes to her, I'm finding this very fast moving with his and hers first initial colliding into each other, to what occurs two days later, he makes no qualms that he wants her, he doesn't hold back, he shows her in any way he can that she is his..

Fantasies about him have consumed me since the first day of class.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Dickhead Garret, I can resist, but sweet Garrett might be another story.

Garret the professor vs Jeff the Quarterback

If this is like book #1 where I was praying to the book gods that she'd choose the one I wanted her to choose BUT no she didn't she chose the other I am going to scream, you'll hear me all over the world lol..

A taboo relationship that could destroy them both, who has more to lose Shelby or Garrett Aka Professor Hanlon??

GAH this book is putting me through the paces, just 7 words written on a scrap piece of paper..

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

There’s a part of me that will always care about him, no matter how much I hate what he did to me.

Three years go by and she's made peace within herself and is happily in a relationship when BAM it all could come tumbling down like a pack of cards..

Without him holding me up, I would crumble and fall. I lean on him and he’s always there just when I need him most. I’ll never have to worry about him disappearing from my life. He loves me more than anything and he proves it to me time and time again, each and every day.

MY THOUGHTS: This is a hard review to write up, there were so many parts of this book I loved, but other parts I didn't love so much, I've read a lot of teacher/student books and though I loved the concept of this story I just didn't get that taboo feeling that what they were doing was wrong, both could've lost so much, then there's Garrett, for some reason I just didn't connect with him, gods did I try..

I guess when it came to him it was just too rushed, their first interaction etc etc it all came about within days, I missed the chase, the butterflies, the angst that they had to keep their attraction hidden from all eyes. I wanted to feel that all consuming love he professed BUT then bring Jeff into this equation and I connected with his character, his frustration, his feelings, his wants, those all came through and I found myself loving all that was JEFF but now I'm in two minds!! So that brings me back to Garret and Shelby GAH!! Maybe these two deserve each other, should be together..Shit I need the next book to find out what happens!!

It's strange how you can be in love with more than one person in your lifetime and each experience has a different feel to it.

The ending is going to gut you, your mind will be in turmoil, your heart will be breaking especially with the uncertainties this threw up and boy did it throw up a few, one minute I had my heart set on one guy over the other, and then wham he did the unthinkable and my bubble deflated..

It's no secret I'm a sucker for student/teacher books. Over and over again I go back and half the time they are shit. So what about this one you ask, well let's see...

description

I give this book my middle finger.

*The writing pissed me off; there are only so many times I can read about what she is wearing, how early or late she got up, how exciting the queue for coffee was or any other boring shit like that. This book was filled with nonsensical ramblings.

*Shelby was a twat - what more needs to be said there

*There's a love triangle. Both the 'men' involved are little more than cardboard cut out dildos.

*It has a cliffhanger - because Shelby is a selfish bitchface dickhead

*SPOILER - slut face is having a baby and GASP either walking penis could be the Daddy

On the positive side - thank fuck it's over!

Another amazing book by Dawn Stanton!

I have been desperately waiting for this book by her because it has a teacher student element, sexy quarterback Jeff and amazing story!! I knew this being Dawn's book, it would be unique, refreshing, amazing and captivating.

The story in the first half is sweet, sexy and easy but the main complications begin in the other half of story. More intense, and kindle throwing moments . I suggest you protect your kindle before reading because it's going to be an epic book!!

I was in a quite shock as the story progressed. I shook my head, shouted at the characters, begged them, felt them and cried with them.

I highly recommend this book! It releases on 2nd Feb!!

This was a DNF for me. I really tried to get into this book but I just couldn't get past my hatred for the h. She is so back and forth. Loved Jeff, hated Garrett. I must admit I skipped to the ending and I am relieved I didn't read the whole story. Cliffhanger for one and second Shelby is as weak as she was in the beginning of the book.

Again sorry I tried to finish but 30% was all I could tolerate.

Waiting for Love throws away every cliché and stereotype of the teacher/student love story and reinvents it.

This story follows Shelby and the remarkable loves of her life. We watched Shelby grow up in Waiting for Us. She was a bit of a mystery. Now, we trace her journey from young adult to woman.

Shelby is smart, sarcastic, witty, and funny. Badly burned in love, Shelby protects herself behind a tough facade.

Enter: Professor Garrett Hanlon. Shelby literally bumps into him. Garrett is the strong-silent type, but their chemistry is off the charts. The 'taboo' factor of their relationship only heightens the intensity.

As events unfold, Shelby returns home and things get complicated.

Jeff Walsh is Shelby's friend, but he is much more than that. He wants more than that. He picks up the pieces and puts Shelby back together.

Decisions and dilemmas haven't finished with Shelby. When the past comes back to haunt her, she faces difficult choices.

This was a powerful story and ends on a cliffhanger that will have you hankering for more. I cannot wait for the next installment.

There is definitely something to be said when an author makes an impact on you from the very first words of their very first book. That’s how I was with Dawn Stanton. Her first book, Waiting for Us, moved me so much that I had this amazing book hangover for days. So when Waiting for Love came out I knew I was going to love it. I had no idea I was going to be blown away. This book by far threw away every cliché and every stereotype of the teacher/student love story. The characters and the story suck you in and keep you enthralled from the first word to the last. It’s a truly heartwarming and heartbreaking story of Shelby and the two remarkably unbelievable loves of her life as she grows from a young adult to a woman.

You grow up with Shelby in Waiting for Us but until you get to her story, she’s a bit of an enigma. She is definitely a colorful character. She’s sarcastic, witty, self-diagnosed as bitchy, fun, and intriguing. Sure she’s been badly burned by love in the past but her friend Jeff steps up and they have fun. But it’s when she literally bumps into the strong and silent Professor Garrett Hanlon before class one morning that you see the passionate, raw, and emotional side of Shelby. Their chemistry is instantaneous and undeniably hot!

Garrett is not your typical professor. He’s young, built, and a take charge man. He goes for what he wants and what he wants is Shelby. She can’t get him or his body-numbing kisses out of her head and he can’t stop stealing her away for private rendezvous the second no one pays attention to them. Their taboo affair turns steamier, becomes more intense, and more all-consuming as the school year continues on. That is until one day Shelby returns home and her world crashes and crumbles around her.

Jeff Walsh, what a man! Initially I didn’t know what to make of him but as the story unfolded, you find out that he is a savior, a man who loves with his whole heart, and he will do anything to protect the ones he loves. I loved how my heart felt heavy and cried as he was dismissed by Shelby, the girl he’s loved from the moment he sees her, for Garrett. He only got her body, but Garrett got her heart. Now? A few years after picking up the shattered pieces of Shelby’s broken heart, Jeff can finally say he won. He got the girl of his dreams, they’re planning a wedding, their future is looking up, and they’ve got the jobs of a lifetime. And their burning, impassioned attraction? Have a fan ready, because it is H.O.T!

When Shelby starts her new job, the past comes back to bite her in her delicate little derriere. As she deals with the fallout that Garrett left behind and the future Jeff has planned for them, Shelby must decide what is best for her. Does she stay with Jeff, the man who brought her back from hell; the man who loves her more than anything; the man who harbors secrets of the past? Or does she return to Garrett, the man who still owns a piece of her heart; the man who consumed her day in and day out; the man who left her broken and shattered?

Dawn has yet another unbelievably heart gripping, emotionally devouring, and powerful hit on her hands. With a cliffhanger that will completely blow your mind away, you will not want to put this book down at all! I can’t believe this is the end for now but guarantee that I will be first in line to read the next installment of Shelby, Jeff and Garrett.

I gave up on this book at 25% and while I usually do not rate books I don't finish, I felt like I owed it to my fellow Goodreaders to rate this one.

I love a good triangle. Complete with all the drama and angst. I was excited to try this one based on the price, .99, and the ratings.

Shelby is a college junior who has been doing the "friends with benefits" thing with fellow student and star QB, Jeff. This non relationship works for Shelby as she is very much against anything with emotions after getting dumped by her first love in high school.

She and Jeff both have a Creative Writing course together with the infamous professor, Garrett Hanlon. Infamous for his smoking hot looks and no nonsense demeanor. He is demanding and gives no slack to his students. After literally bumping into one another on the first day of class, Professor Hanlon and Shelby seem to have some animal chemistry and he makes blatant overtures towards her, going so far as to kiss her in class after everyone else was dismissed. Within weeks of meeting, they run into one another again at a university event where she is serving. After leading her into an empty bedroom at the Dean's house-yes the college Dean, his boss, he proceeds to use his fingers to bring her to climax. Two weeks after that he goes to her apartment begging for two weeks to date and get to know one another. Huh?!

He. Is. Her. Professor. He could lose his job. Tenure. She could be expelled. Lose credits, gain an awful reputation that follows her. Yet neither seem to really address it, her roommate does suggest caution. And I mean, they do go to a pub 20 minutes drive from campus on their first date. What. The. F. Ever.

Again, 0-60 in less than 25%. Since the premise of the book is very weak for me I decided to not waste anymore time. I also did not like any of the characters. Shelby is basically a slut, every guy wants her-including her BFF and roomie's brother. Oh yeah, forgot about that: at a group apple picking her roommates brother hits on her by saying, "how come we haven't had sex yet?". Like she's been all over campus and it's his turn. Again, I say, whatever.

Review:

This is the second book of The Waiting Series. No you don’t need to read book one, Waiting for Us, to understand what is going on. However, I highly recommend reading book one. It will give you background on these characters. The book overlaps the timeframe of Waiting for Love. Shelby and Hailey have been best friends since forever. In this series we watch them grow up and fall in and out of love. Shelby is in her junior year of college. It is the first day of the new semester and Shelby runs smack into her new, very hot creative writing professor. In that moment, Professor Garrett Hanlon has sparked something deep in Shelby’s soul.
Garrett, is speechless after gazing on the amazing beauty that has just run into him. In class, watching her, he become jealous of the obvious friendship that she has with the man sitting with her. Although he knows he shouldn’t, he pursues a relationship with Shelby. Jeff has become one of Shelby’s best friends and they share a friends with benefits relationship. They mesh, they have fun, and the sex is great, but Shelby is not looking for anything more. She has been in love once before and that left her shattered when the relationship ended abruptly before heading off to separate colleges. With Garrett’s relentless pursuit, Shelby finally relents. She can’t resist the pull that she has towards Garrett. Garrett is all consuming, but their relationship may be doomed from the beginning. Being involved with a student is against the rules.

The plot of this story is super sexy, has drama with much needed comic relief. The chemistry between these characters makes for a very steamy read, and is the cause of all the drama. Pacing is steady, at the beginning of each chapter you know where is time the book is. This book spans several years. The ending, well I was not expecting a cliffhanger, since book one ended as a stand alone. I guess we will have to wait till April, 2016 to find out what happens.

Yet another great read from new Indie Author Dawn Stanton.

Who doesn't love a little bit of a taboo romance these days and Stanton delivers just that. Told in dual pov in two parts, we get to follow Shelby as she encounters Professor Hanlon on her first day of class and the growing attraction that they have for one another. I loved how Shelby could give back with her crazy banter. Her character is head strong and out spoken and I loved that. She puts Garrett in his place on numerous occasions. Just when they are ready to take their hidden relationship to the next level, the rug is pulled out from under them.

Garrett Hanlon has been through hell. When he catches a glimpse of Shelby he feels an undeniable pull toward her and sets out to make her his. The consequences be damned. What ensues is a roller coaster ride of a hot, sexy, love story that ends all to quickly. Garrett is a dominant, possessive man and the mouth on him could wet just about anyone's panties. Will he be strong enough to weather the storms that are brewing or will he tuck tail and run?

Jeff Walsh is Shelby's best friend with benefits. What she doesn't know is that he is in love with her and wants to make her his. He quietly stands by and watches as the one woman he desires more than anything it taken away from him. When Jeff takes matters into his own hands, things spiral out of control quickly. Can he be the one to pick up the pieces and prove that he is the man for Shelby or will the secrets and deception ruin it all in the end?

Go grab your copy of this crazy emotional roller coaster ride of a romance. Filled with plenty of hot, sexy moments, a mouthy, sexy professor, the gorgeous college quarterback, secrets and betrayal that not everyone may come back from!

Waiting for Love by Author Dawn Stanton is book 2 in the Waiting series. It is an NA and taboo, student/teacher romance novel. It also has variable elements of a love triangle.

Shelby is a protector of her heart. Sex is sex. No strings attached, no feelings. Garrett is the hot and sweet professor that makes her heart rate ramp up to unimaginable speeds. He wants more than just a good time, and he wants that with Shelby. Jeff is the "friends with benefits" guy. He is a steady in Shelby's life. It is with great anticipation that we read to discover where Shelby's heart will lead, and what that outcome will be.

"Take my hand baby, I will pull you out."

I have read what is likely an unhealthy amount of student/teacher romance novels. In the initial pages of Waiting for Love I thought it may be the same, pre-established story. But, I was in for a shock. The first half of the story was good, the next 20-30 percent was really good. The next 10 percent, amazing, and the last 10 percent had my mind in an absolute state of disbelief; it was writing perfection. This story took turns I never saw coming, and made me cheer on the man I didn't think I could; that was an amazing feet in itself. But it all changed in an instant, causing me to feel desperate with want and astonishment. It left me with a tempting taste of what's to come. If you enjoy student/teacher romance, grab this one up. Take the plunge, wade into the water, and wait for the crashing waves; they will take you under and give you quite the ride. I NEED to have more of this story.

Waiting for love has left me with mixed thoughts.

I enjoyed it a lot better then the first book in the series but still felt that it missed the chemistry of the characters.

For a teacher student romance I didn't feel the chance of the romance it was pretty wham bam and it made me feel slightly uncomfortable.

I enjoyed the relationship of Jeff and Shelby, they were good together, but the relationship of Shelby and Garrett was just odd.

The ending, now that I will leave with i don't even call it a cliff hanger, I feel it was just a add on that the author has added to let this continue on. It has kinda back tracked on everything that was written in the book

Another amazing story by Dawn Stanton! I loved Waiting for Us so this was a book I was eagerly anticipating when I heard it was being written and the story certainly did not disappoint! Shelby and Jeff have a hot friends with benefits situation as she doesn't do relationships. When she bumps into her professor, Garrett (literally!), sparks ignite and they embark on a secret affair. She didn't bank on falling in love with him though. There are many secrets in Waiting for Love and many ups and down leading to heartbreak and happiness. This is an emotional read and will leave you constantly wondering what is going to come next. I had no idea this was a cliffhanger and I just about threw my Kindle across the room when I got to the end! ACK! Ms. Stanton leaves the reader dying to know what comes next. Thank goodness there is a preview of the first chapter of Waiting for Him which is the continuation of Shelby, Jeff and Garrett's story. I for one, cannot wait until it is released. This is definitely one of my favorite series and is a must read!

Professor Garret Hanlon
First day of junior year and I run straight into professor Hanlon (literally ) Fantasies about him have consumed me ever since. There's something between us, is being with him worth ruining my academic future?
Jeff Walsh
We have a friends with benefits relationship and it's been working well for us. Until now. Is it fair to continue when all I can think about is professor Hanlon?

This is the second book in the series and I recommend you read the first one before this. I can't recommend this book and series enough! I absolutely loved it and devoured it in one sitting. The story is told in different points of view so you get to know everyone involved. All the way through I had my favourite and wanted Shelby to choose him. A few chapters from the end, I changed my mind. The ending, can you say cliffhanger? ! I'm eagerly awaiting book 3.

Surprised that it's a cliffhanger but very good story.

So be prepared that this story is a cliffhanger. I was not expecting that but as I got closer to the end I was wondering. It is a very good book and keeps you drawn in. Shelby is seeing Jeff on a friend's with benefits. She literally runs into her professor on her way to class and is drawn to him. He starts letting her know that he is interested but they are student and teacher which is forbidden. Shelby does finally agree to go on a date with him and starts a secret affair with him after telling Jeff they can no longer be together. I recommend this book to everyone. When you start the second part of the book with all three POV things really speed up.

After reading Waiting for Us I was anxious to read this story. This is Shelby's story and what a story it is. Shelby has choices to make but will she make the right one? I will say that this story left me wanting more and I am glad to see that there is another story coming.

Great job I will be waiting for Waiting for Him!

I didn't like Shelby in book 1 and she did nothing in this book to change my mind about her. Just like in book one the heroin keeps one guy while secretly lusting after another.
Garret comes across as a major creeper!
Jeff plays innocent and yet he is really a lying back stabber!
Cliffhanger/ thumbs down
Cheating/ thumbs down

Frustratingly fantastic!

Shelby has her "friend with benefits" Jeff and then she meets Garrett who just happens to be her professor. Things get hot and Shelby and Garrett's relationship gets extremely complicated!
I was so into this book! I love the story and I love the intrigue. I love the passionate love that Garrett has for Shelby. The only reason I gave this four stars is because of the cliffhanger. It's a fantastic read, just wasn't aware it was a cliffhanger.

Mixed Feelings

I honestly have mixed emotions about this book. I just finished it and I'm not sure who I'm supposed to root for; the cheater, the one who left but is now back and has no qualms breaking up the couple, or the one who has always been there...but has their own secret.
It ends with a cliffhanger, and I don't know if I'm going for book 3.

Ok....

There is cheating in this book!! Def a love triangle!! I can sometimes handle that but this is just wrong. And to top it off it ends in a cliffhanger...really?! The worst part is I want to know how it all ends. I bought the book about Hailey but I might not read it after all.
