Τι καταλαβαίνει κάποιος όταν βλέπει μια καντίνα να μετονομάζεται σε GRAN HOTEL ; Μερικοί θα πουν ότι είναι σημάδι μιας επικείμενης αλλαγής και πράγματι δεν θα έχουν άδικο. Γιατί όπου φτάσουν οι Γκρίνγκος η ζωή αλλάζει και η πρόοδος παραγκωνίζει την παράδοση. Σε πείσμα της παράδοσης όμως, οι Ντάλτον μετατρέπονται σε θύματα και ο Ραν-Ταν-Πλάν βρίσκει τον μάστορά του. Η μόνη παράδοση που διατηρείται είναι η παράδοση που έχει δημιουργήσει ο Λούκυ Λουκ. Το ερώτημα τίθεται αμείλικτο : Θα βοηθούσατε κάποιον που θα ξέρατε εκ των προτέρων ότι θα τον κλέψουν ; Το ερώτημα αν και είναι ρητορικό το απαντά ο φτωχός και μόνος ήρωάς μας με τον καλύτερο τρόπο. Με την βοήθεια του Ραν-Ταν-Πλάν, βεβαίως – βεβαίως !

René Goscinny (1926 - 1977) was a French author, editor and humorist, who is best known for the comic book Asterix , which he created with illustrator Albert Uderzo, and for his work on the comic series Lucky Luke with Morris (considered the series' golden age).

Loved it. Enjoyed every bit of it. Definitely one of the better stories of the series. You know it's a good one when Rin Tin Can is at his best. It was a pleasure to get a sense of Mexican culture and habits, Especially the siesta time. And oh, Averell, You're the real MVP, my man. Haha. Got to read it once more. I'm going to use the slangs from now on.

The Daltons make yet another appearance in the series. They are being moved to a prison near the Mexican border and a Mexican bandit attacks the stagecoach. Normally you would think that he would welcome the Daltons into his own gang.

Instead, the whole thing turns into a comic mess as the Daltons don't exactly work out to what the Mexican bandit expected. It's really funny, one of the funniest in the entire series.

On the other than there is one panel with the stereotyped thick lipped Black person and the way some of the Mexicans are drawn in regards to protruding teeth reminds me of the stereotype used on Japanese during World War II.

Whether this was due to the artist or the writer, though, I don't know.

Dit was het laatste verhaal dat Morris en Goscinny maakten voor Dupuis en ze verlaten de studio met een knaller. De Daltons zijn sterk op dreef als volledig incapabele criminelen die wanhopig indruk proberen te maken op hun Mexicaanse tegenhanger, superschurk Emilio Espuelas. Onder de vele hoogtepunten zijn Averell die Lucky Luke's eindlied zingt en een zeer intelligente Chihuahua die Rataplan in volledige verwarring brengt. Koea Koea Kome Kiki!

Dalton bersaudara tanpa sengaja diculik oleh bandit Meksiko. Kondisi ini membuat pemerintah Meksiko gerah dan mengeluarkan ancaman perang jika Amerika tidak segera menangkap Dalton dan membawanya kembali. Lucky Luke pun turun tangan. Kekocakan terjadi karena Dalton cs. berusaha menyembunyikan fakta bahwa ada harga untuk kepala mereka kepada bandit Meksiko yang menculik mereka. Morris juga dengan cerdas menjadikan perbedaan bahasa menjadi bahan humor dalam komiknya.

I Dalton invadono il Messico! E come sempre, toccherà a Lucky Luke arrestarli e riportarli in galera. Un volume divertentissimo per i numerosi luoghi comuni, narrati con lo stile scanzonato tipico di Goscinny, sul Messico e le sue tradizioni.

Este capítulo fue más de los Dalton que de Lucky Luke, sin embargo las risas no faltaron. Es un libro más de la serie en sus tiempos de más alta calidad. Me gustó cómo se jugaba con el idioma Español y las confusiones culturales de cada lado.

This is among th classics and a really good one. Few pages gives you a hearty laugh !!

This album contains some funny jokes but I wouldn't say it's an exceptional one.

Nevertheless we have the Dalton brothers, plus Rantanplan, so the album is still a good one. Averell attempts to say "When do we eat" in spanish and saying it successfully only at the end of the story are hilarious. Also funny was the effort of the mexican bank owner to modernize his bank, acquiring a vault, just so the Daltons can rob his bank and make him feel like progress has reached Mexico!

The bad guy of the adventure Emilio Espuelas isn't very memorable. Only his clever plan to acquaint Averell with tequila in order to learn the secrets of the Daltons is really a standout.

Un grand album de Lucky Luke, qui traite d'un thème phare (west) du western : le passage au Mexique pour échapper aux forces de l'ordre. Et bien évidemment, ce sont les Daltons qui sont les héros de la fête. De grands moments, et des répliques cultes. Ma préférée :



- Averell : "Et comment s'appelle cette délicieuse petite croûte autour des frijoles ?"

- le bandit Mexicain : "ça s'appelle, un bol en terre cuite amigo."

Saat Jo sudah memutuskan untuk pensiun buat kabur bahkan memasang korden di penjara, mereka dipindahkan.
Kocak, lucu kalau Dalton berurusan dengan Lucky Luke dan Rantanplan.
