This is an I Spy book with beginning reader words in it. The beginning reader words are what you should find in the pictures.

This book is a fun book and an easy read. I think this would be a good book to read with children just beginning to read because it would give them a break in between pages while they look for the objects. It would also be a fun book to just put in your reading corner in the classroom for free time.

My Review: What a great way to start with reading and sight words, by turning a book into a game. Kids will not even know that they are learning new words as they search for items in the picture. Some of the pictures are actually pretty hard to find. There are images of the items you are searching for along with the words so kids can associate them. The excitement for kids to not only sound out their new words but to also find the items hidden in the picture will keep them reaching for this book again and again.

There are more by this author that start "Can You See What I See?", the three I checked out and read are: "100 Fun Finds" "Nature" and "Christmas" and I might check out more because they were as much fun for me as they were my grand-kids. I asked the 4-6 year old in my life to go through them and it kept them and their little fingers busy for several minutes - and that is a miracle!
The photos are bright and fun and each page has the the picture of each item you'll be looking for, if you are looking for 10 bowling pins each one is pictured so you know the color, angle, and shading of each one. If you are familiar with the board game Pictureka you will appreciate that concept.

And at the end of the book is the word list by each picture of each item you found so there's the opportunity to learn while you play a game.

They're really very cool books.

Part of the easy reader series of I Spy books featuring rhymes, increasingly difficult picture puzzles, and a word list. Great for beginning readers!

This title does a great job of representing its theme. I appreciated the different environments featured as well as the array of objects and animals.

This book would be good for younger children who are learning to expand the amount of words they know. The print is large. This book incorporates numbers as well. I would not assign this book to anyone, but would let it be a fun book for my students to explore on their own in their free time. It is definitely a book I would keep in my classroom.
