Exquisite book. Beautifully illustrated (by the artist Karen Cater herself)and one of my absolute favourites. An easy gentle read it's as if you are sharing a country walk with the artist in person. It is not a taxing academic read, therefore perfect for general lovers of nature. If you love all things Celtic and animals - Hares in particular - you will adore this book.
This is a lovely book primarily about hares, but in the last quarter of the book the author went a bit too spiritual/new age for my liking. The stories, myths, history etc of hares, though, were informative and interesting. The book was spoiled by the pages going awry in places.
This is an illustrated collection of snippets about hares in fact, fiction, folklore, and the author's life. Tracing her local hares and their lives, as well as hares through stories and songs was really very interesting. I read fast through the other bits, but I liked those ones a lot. The illustrations are by the author too who is an artist and it's great to see them and get a bit of context to her work in her own words.
