I enjoyed reading this book especially the household hints, recipes, tips, and trivia.

Here are a few of my favorites:

"I work the front button hole in my daughter's bloomers with colored thread. This has saved a great deal of time and annoyance for me because it entirely stopped my daughter from putting her bloomers on back to front." - tip from 1930

This brought back childhood memories of homemade clothes made by my grandmother and the "F" she would sew inside my pajama bottoms, pants, and shorts so I wouldn't put them on backwards.

"Casserole is a French word that means "covered baking dish" and is a great way to save time, dishes, and money. Time (because it goes from the oven to the table), dishes, (because you can serve it in today's great oven-to-table wear) and money (because you can use leftovers, less expensive cuts of meat, and other things you have handy in your refrigerator)."

"In 1916, fashion came out with a new material - Brittania. It had a new texture with the body of taffeta, and less luster than satin."
