Elan Golomb earned her doctorate in clinical psychology and her certificate in psychoanalysis and psychotherapy from New York University. She has been in private practice in New York since 1972.

"I spent many years studying my own unhappy experiences until I had an 'Aha moment' which inspired me to write these books.

I suffered a troubled love life and didn't understand why I was repeating my mistakes. Only after struggling for years to understand my childhood, did I free myself in my late 50s, when I met and chose someone I could really love, someone who could really love me."

Elan Golomb’s third exploration of the human psyche, Unloved Again, reveals the serial addiction that may arise from dysfunctional parenting. Not only does Dr. Golomb have the ability to listen deeply for the destructive traumas in parent-child relationships, but she also reveals formidable and useful insights from individuals’ personal stories in their quest to find love, authenticity, and release from the past. Since we are all in harm’s way on the path to adulthood, everyone who reads Unloved Again will open their childhood to its power to influence their lives richly or poorly. Her final chapter about her husband is a treasure for its reminder that love finds us, even if we have lived bereft and long suffering from childhood experiences.

Lovely

This impactful work has informed my own thinking on love and where I sit in my current relationships. The author demonstrates that she has developed a real understanding of the experience of love secondary to having grown up in a household with pathologically narcissistic features.

This book has been a blessing to me. I have recommended it to those who are struggling in their relationships, and I have learned about my own disruptive patterns that I still hope to heal.
