Introducing NEED, book one in the FOR THE LOVE OF THE BILLIONAIRE series
Barrett Evers, globe-trotting scion of the Evers Holdings fortune, has all the trappings of the wealthiest men in the world. The fastest sports cars, the sleekest private jets, and business interests on four continents. He rubs elbows with the world's most powerful and beautiful. And on top of all that? He just so happens to have the rugged good looks of a model straight out of GQ. Needless to say, he gets what he wants, when he wants. He has it all.
At least, that's what any outsider would think.
Despite all he has, there's one thing he can't buy- Scarlet Bloom.
Five years ago, their passion could heat up an entire city. They were desperately in love until one day Scarlet walked away. No explanation, no goodbye. The great love (not to mention the best sex) of his life, inexplicably walked out on him and never looked back.
Scarlet has her reasons. But she can never tell Barrett the truth. It would cost them both way too much.
But after a chance meeting in Las Vegas leads to a steamy weekend on the shores of the Pacific, Scarlet can't help but wonder if she could ever be strong enough to let him go again. Even if both their lives depended on it.
How lovely is it when you get to fall in love with your childhood crush? Well, it is fabulous and makes for a great story.
What is this secret Scarlet holds, why won't she talk with Garrett? I had so many questions and was guessing so many outcomes. Alison Ryan did a wonderful job keeping the reader engaged in the story. I couldn't help but keep turning the pages and reading on, I had to know what was going to happen next, where was this story going?
The love between Scarlet & Barrett captured & held me.
Be aware that Scarlet and Barrett's story ends in a cliffhanger (OMG!! Scarlett what the Hell, stop & talk); so you'll need to go out and grab Crave (Book #2) to see what's in store for these two. Worth the read!!
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is my first read by Alison Ryan and I can honestly say it most definitely won't be my last. The characters, the story-line and discovering all the secrets suck you in and keep you turning the pages. The questions just keep piling up as the story unfolds. Need will captivate, intrigue, consume, and mystify you. Can't wait to read the second book, Crave.
I have a hard time when books are about 3 chapters long then you have to buy 4 of them to get the whole book. I refuse to do that so while it was interesting, i won't be reading the rest of them
I am hooked on Barrett and Scarlet. Second book I am reading from this author and enjoying it. Also, second book where author uses Conyers, GA in her story, which is a suburb of metro Atlanta where I live is exciting to see mentioned in a book. I think I figured out Scarlett's secret, but looking forward to reading book 2, Crave as well as the other 3 books to finish the story. Glad the books are offered under the Kindle Unlimited program instead of paying for all 5 short books of under 90 pages each.
I like this new authors style. Although just a little too descriptive, so lost a star. But I really enjoyed the story and look forward to the plot unraveling between Barrett and Scarlet.
Thought this first part of the series started off very slow. The secretary dialog was a little drawn out. I am curious so I will give the next book in the series a try, hopefully it will pick up.
Far I'm enjoying the story. I was a little confused by the bouncing around, and the way the book started threw me off. Bit I think I've got it figured out now. I'll read on.
I was a good story, but more like a couple of chapters. Very little content. I didn't have time to connect to Scarlett Or Barrett. It was a good start.
