Her Sexy Scrooge

Rate this book
Like the Ebenezer of old, Eben Marley excels at making money. Unlike the Ebenezer of old, mega-rich Eben Marley also excels with the ladies…as long as love isn’t in the cards. Love them and leave them, that’s how he plays it. Or maybe one should say…get her naked, make her moan, then leave. No need for love, emotion or commitment. Until Cara. One night with her changed everything. So Eben did what any committed bachelor would do—he had her transferred to another department and made sure their paths never crossed again.

Three years later, on Christmas Eve, he bumps into her and all the memories reawaken. Her memory still haunts him, but Eben might not have a chance to figure out if they could have anything more than sex. Cara’s memory isn’t the only thing haunting him. Eben has more than just a name in common with the old guy from the Christmas story. Three spirits are looking for him and he’s only got so much time to make things right…including rebuilding those bridges he burned with Cara, the one woman he’s never been able to forget.

This was like the erotic version of Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol... I really liked it, even though I thought the romance wasn't the strongest part of the story. Don't get me wrong, the love scenes were hot and all that jazz, but this book was mostly about Eben's "epiphany" than his relationship with Cara. Very good for a Christmas read.

Not interesting for me.

This was a retelling of the Ebeneezer Scrooge story and not well done. Cara works for Eben's company. He has sex with her one time but avoids her after that. One night, he is mysteriously drawn to a soup kitchen and sees Cara there. He does not make a move for Cara. She is the one who comes to his home after that. Not recommended.

This short story is also published in the anthology All She Wants.

Two stories so both are short.

Enjoyable retelling of the old Christmas classic.
Just missing a romantic vibe.
Cara just came across as desperate.
Pining for three years then happily throwing her scantily clad self at him.
Never felt that Eben did the chasing.
Quick read through Kindle Unlimited.

Second book.
Every Last Fantasy.
Sad reincarnation tale.
Two lovers engaged to be married are torn apart. Two hundred years later they meet again.
Hated that their deaths were never dealt with or avenged.
Read at the back of Her Christmas Scrooge through Kindle Unlimited.

Felt like I was reading the non-comedy version of the movie Scrooged

When I first started reading this, I was thinking Oh no... not A Christmas Carol! But it was, and that ended up not being a bad thing. Through the spirits, we got a glimpse at why cold, heartless Eben acted the way he did, why he had so many one-night-stands, why he was so driven to make more money. And we also saw the collateral damage from some of the decisions he'd made for the almighty dollar over the years. Ultimately, Eben realized his lonely existence and righted some wrongs. Then he went to find the one woman who had made him feel anything, a woman who worked for him who he had bedded three years earlier, only to leave her coldly in the morning and have her transferred to another department so he would stop remembering their night. Not that it worked... he still dreamed about her. There was sex, though I wouldn't call it the steamiest sex I've ever read. But the story was still very heartwarming with a sweet HEA.

"On Christmas Eve, an accidental encounter ... with the bitter taste of loneliness and regret riding him hard, Eben comes face to face with three determined.spirits?" He, he, he,three determined spirits, too fuunny! I have always loved stories or movies like this, ghosts of the Christmas past, they always make me laugh, just couldn't resist reading this book. Sad thing is, even though i love the whole ghost of the Christmas past theme, i have never read a book with the theme, not even how the Grinch stole Christmas, but i did watch it.;) I especially like that Shiloh wrote a book with this theme, i look forward to it!

This is a "holiday" romance. I read this a while ago when I was first getting into erotica books. I read a few Ms. Walker books and they were WOW. This one, didn't do it for me at all. The reinterpretation was just okay. Didn't move me. I could have cared less about the characters. The sex was erotic and the only saving grace when I read it in 2006.

was a cute book with the christmas carol story line kind of lol..

Eben is great at making money love not so much. he's not into getting married money is better. he almost made that mistake once. then he takes cara to a hotel for one night and can't seem to get her off his mind but never does anything about it. no holidays for his employees half day and only one day for christmas. then back to work.

cara has loved Eben forever. she was so upset when he showed her the door 3 years ago she has never came onto him again.

eben is in a car wreck when his driver just vanishes from the car, but not in one. he sees his dead father and thinks he's dead. and his driver is there too. what's going on he has no idea but sees the plot of christmas carol in the whole thing.

book was cute, could have been cuter..u know how it ends i'm sure lol
