Sometimes the thing we need the most is the last thing we expected…
When Cecilia Barnes closes her eyes and envisions her dream job at an exclusive accounting firm, thoughts of corner offices on the top floor of a high-rise, modern furniture, and a bustling team of assistants are what she pictures. That dream collides with reality when she's entangled in a coworker’s malicious plan and her professional reputation is ruined. Bills pile up, and things take a turn for the worst after yet another employment rejection.
Luckily for her, there's one place that needs an accountant almost as desperately as she needs a job: A ranch an hour away from the city, left in dire straits after their last accountant retired.
Ranch owner Jack Mayhew is exactly the type of man Cecilia never thought she would fall for. He's rough and tough, but undeniably gorgeous and every inch a good ol' country boy. She questions whether or not she’ll be a good fit at the ranch, and things take a turn for the worse when Jack’s psychotic ex-girlfriend enters the picture.
Cecelia finds herself falling deeper and deeper under Jack’s spell, but can they survive a crazy ranch, a crazier ex-girlfriend, and realize that the thing they need the most is actually right in front of them?
" Southern Charm " is a standalone steamy romance with HEA.

I liked the story and the characters were ok. I didn't really get pulled into either of their lives or personalities though. There was some drama with Jack's crazy ex trying to kill each of them, but even that wasn't enough for me to connect with them.
They spent so much time resisting their attraction that their relationship didn't really have time to grow for the reader. One minute they were friends that felt a sexual attraction toward each other. The next minute someone was being attacked. Then they had pulled away. Next they have sex and are in love.
They fell in love between the lines so to speak. The reader didn't get to enjoy that process.
Got a little bit crazy at times, but I enjoyed it! Cecilia, soul sister from the city, finds herself unemployed, broke and searching for a job. She ends up on a ranch looking into the blue eyes of sexy cowboy, Jack Mayhew. Unfortunately, he comes with a crazy ex-girlfriend who doesn't mind killing folks to get her way.
I liked this book, actually, two books. This book had two stories. I found both to be very good. The stories had very different situations. The main story had a couple of interesting surprises which kept your interest. The second book also was interesting because of how it developed and ended. It actually kept me up reading and I lost some much needed sleep because I wanted to know how it ended.
The story for the most part was a very enjoyable read, but I had a small problem with the main female character. She was quick to take offense and had a tendency to run away when situations arose that if she had only stuck around and asked for clarification would have saved herself a lot of anguish.
I enjoyed this story but too much of the relationship development happened off page to my dismay. Also, those scenes off immaturity were ANNOYING! I'm glad she got past it, but geeze... 🙄🙄
It could have been 4 or 5 stars, but missing out on most of the firsts on their relationship because they happened off page took away from the story.
This was a good book I enjoyed all the characters especially Tommy...lol he was spilling all the tea. But I was annoyed by how much Cecilia kept running away from problems or misunderstandings instead of just talking about it.
I truly enjoyed reading this story. Cecelia and Jack were so great together. I felt really bad for Barbara once the issue of what caused her to be that way were disclosed. I couldn’t put this book down. I loved it.
This is the first book I have read by this author. I can say I thoroughly enjoyed this book. This is a story about a man who had a deep secret that he kept to himself. Upon keeping a secret he felt like he was hurting people around him. Until he had this lovely woman come into this life . However, things worked out in the in for him . I wish to book would've went a little bit more into detail in the end to let us know how things played out between Jack and Cecile
The first book , cowboy romance, is a good rainy night read. A little drama and in the end love. It's what we read romance novels for. The second is about a one night stand, written in a Very Very VERY young mind set. Did not care for it at all midway through, to many women thinks it's about them not the child and this book is written in a SELFISH mother's ME ME ME ME point of view. Not very romantic starts out SELFISH and in the end she gets her Selfish happy ending ...and baby gets her real daddy......awful
Actually 2 separate novellas in here. The first was okay, but kind of rambling. Rancher, with sophisticated tastes and millionaire side biz, crazy ex. The second was really silly. Baby obsessed woman gets divorced, gets filled by 1 night stand 3 years later, they happen to run into each other, he's a billionaire and all is well. Sheesh.
The ending was much better than the rest of it. The heroines whole demeanor was off to me. It just didn't come off as real or genuine. My feelings are you can't act like a Booker (even in your thoughts) and expect to be treated like a lady.
Something missing or lacking, I can't quite place it. Cecilia was childish to me. The moment she saw Jack, she was in lust. I didn't feel like they had any chemistry...Pretty bland book.
I thought this book was a bit too short. It was a good story, but the male and female leads fell for each other a bit too quickly to be believable. I didn't read the second book. I don't like stories where the female is pregnant before the couple gets together.
