Yoink!

It’s been awhile since I’ve read volume one of this run and Nick Spencer’s Spider-books look decent, so I thought I’d go back and fill in the gaps. Now I remember why I was cool towards this storyline.

Yes, thanks! I forgot that this was kinda dull.

I’m not taking a hard pass on Spider-Man’s making the entire Earth his friendly neighborhood, but Slott seems to be running on fumes and it’s difficult to muster much enthusiasm for this story arc.

Lookee, it’s Mr. Negative. Yawn.

And the Zodiac thing gets resolved with a hard shove to nobody’s satisfaction.

Robot Dr. Ock seems to be making a move. Maybe that bodes well for the future.

Bottom Line :They can’t all be spectacular (or amazing), but this feels like a misstep from the usually reliable Slott. The sub-plots in the six issues included here don’t seem to be going anywhere – one and done – yet, probably not. Sorry, my comic book patience sometimes wears thin and my geezer brain can’t remember that Harry Osborn subplot from over half a year ago.

*sigh*

Peter Parker continues to run Parker Industries his own way. He utilizes his company to help against the worst his enemies can throw at him. Good thing because Mr. Negative has arrived with some of Spidey's friends under his control

and Zodiac is about to complete their mission.

Worldwide Vol. 2 seemed to be overall better than the first volume. Peter is using Parker Industries to help the world in many ways, but he's missing some of the consequences. Some of the things he's missing will surely take a nibble on his spider backside. Outside of that Peter may have actually gotten past his Parker luck.

I'm not overly familiar with Mr. Negative, but his mini arc with Cloak and Dagger was a welcome reprieve from the all Zodiac all the time. He makes a more interesting enemy especially since his motives were actually completely understandable and not actually evil at all.

I forgot to mention it last volume, but I like the super hi-tech Spider suit with it's glowing eyes and spider. Peter has come up in the world and he deserved a Spider-Man suit that demonstrated that.

Worldwide Vol. 2 isn't flawless, but it was action packed and pretty fun. I'm interested in finding out where this new global Spider-Man heads to next.

I love seeing Peter Parker globetrotting and finally using that big brain of his. That was always one of the most frustrating thing I found about when the character worked for the Daily Bugle. Say what you will about Dan Slott but he's done a great job of modernizing the character while still keeping Peter pure to his roots.

In this volume, Spider-Man takes on Mr. Negative in China and the Scorpio saga from volume 1 comes to a climax.

I love Spider-man. I do. He's my dude. He's my hero. I'm naming my first kid Ben Parker (No joke). He will always make me feel like I can be a better man. He's just a guy trying to do the right thing from New York. That's me! All me.

So why am I giving Amazing Spider-man Worldwide Volume 2 a 2? Because it's just not...that...fun. Spider-man is broken into two arcs here. First one dealing with Mr. Negative. Now I usually give high praise to Dan Slott's villains. I think they're usually well crafted and actually put FEAR into the heroes. I loved his Hobgoblin and enjoyed Mr. Negative in brand new day. However here he comes across as lame and boring villain of the week. Even worse we get Scorpio who is just LAME as fuck. He plans on taking over the world or some Saturday cartoon plan.

What I liked: There's a couple of laugh out loud moments. Usually involving lackys from the villains. They're so stupid. Also the art is pretty solid and everything flows pretty well. No complaints in the art department.

What I didn't like: The plot, or lack of. I just don't care about these villains at all and Spider-man comes across as boring when he's all high and mighty. His quips besides 1 or 2 are just lameeeeee. He's just not funny! HOW CAN I READ A SPIDER-MAN BOOK WHERE SPIDER-MAN isn't FUNNY!? Ugh. I also hate how both arcs wrap up, as to promise us more from villains, but none have left an impact yet in this worldwide series.

Overall Amazing Spider-man Worldwide has been kind of a letdown. I didn't love all of Big Time but did enjoy moments. Worldwide has very few of those aswell.. Which is a shame because I actually LIKE the concept of Peter growing up, getting his shit together, and using his smarts. However here it's coming off as he's still dumb, with a lot of money, and really bad jokes (and not on purpose bad to make us laugh. He tries to sing Miley Cyrus song I shit you not...) So yeah a 2/5. Sadnezz.

This is has been a lot better since the ANAD re-launch. Spidey globe trotting the world is cool. Slott is still doing his regular foreshadowing of future stories, because I don't think he ever plans on giving up the book. Sometimes he seems more interested in setting up and alluding to future stories than telling current ones. The Alex Ross covers are also very pretty.

This was quite fun!

It starts off with Pete facing against Cloak and Dagger who have been turned and are under the control of Mr Negative and so he has to defeat him but he doesn't now the person he is awarding tonight is the villain Silver Fang and Mr Negative is after him and so its a fun and deep fight.

And finally we have the big story with Scorpio where he enacts his plans and goes after Peter and his company is at risk when he finds the former's real identity and its an all out war and everything and finally we have the big revelations, fights and such cool moments for Peter and the rest of the team, its great to see other villains in the background and finally wee whats to come in the future and that one was exciting. This book continues the awesome development from last volume and shows international challenges for Pete and how he handles that and also great art throughout, specially to them!

First half has Cloak & Dagger, Mr Negative and Regent, The second story sees the reemergence of Scorpio and the Zodiac. The good art and storytelling keeps this book alive, but this whole worldwide thing is a bust and there's no way Marvel will let it go on for much longer? 5 out of 12

I never really got Mr. Negative or why Dan Slott has such a hard-on for him. Wilson Fisk or Leland Owlsley are more menacing organised crime leaders, Purple Man is better at mind control. What's the attraction?

Negative’s a Banner/Hulk alter-ego, and he torments the decent dude hidden within, but it's still tedious and unexciting.

You know what else is tedious and unexciting? Let's talk about Slott's mansplainy dialogue:

This whole book seems like a chore to slog through. I'm slowly making it through, but all the joy is gone. Where's the dude who wrote all the fun into Spider-Verse?

The Scorpio/Zodiac storyline is a little better, but still feels like going through the motions eh? “Here’s the villain, their secret plan, how they’re far superior to our hero and couldn’t possibly be defeated, even if they advertise their one great weakness”. Oh wow, they came down like clockwork, on to the next plot contrivance.

Maybe it’s not so bad after all if Slott moves on to another mission. He’s done some huge favours to Spidey, and had a bunch of fun storylines, maybe it’s time to pass on the keyboard to someone else.

I'm really starting to see the pattern in Slott's Spider-Man writing and have become very bored with it. He continues to write these fast-paced, multi-threaded plots, weaving from one story to the next, while still maintaining the core idea of responsibility of Peter. It's all deftly done, but I don't feel any drama, maybe some slight suspense because things are foreshadowed but that's about it. There are some good things about it and it isn't terribly done, but I've grown weary of the style. I'm ready for someone else to take over the writing.

Enjoyed a second time... Big fun, if, like me, you like Slott's Spider-Man; and why wouldn't you?
Art and story are divided in half here, with first half illustrated by Matteo Buffagni, and second by Giuseppe Camuncoli. Both are fine talents.

It's always cool to see Peter Parker actually taking charge and being in control of his life, and this volume really shows you how he is kicking ass with his company and as Spidey as well.

The "worldwide" in the title is appropriate in this volume as it is set in China and Paris mostly (also: space), as Spidey has to track down Mr. Negative after he returns to his former inverted ways. The way Slott writes Peter is fun and inventive, making him more of an adult, but still holding that young charm that Spider man has always had. There is an ease in the way of Peter's personality that only comes from a writer that is very comfortable with the character. It really shows how natural Slott is in writing not only Spidey, but the world around him as well.

There are some crazy plot points to the story that were a bit out there (free falling from Space is a bit much) but overall, its a fun book. However there are times that I feel like the book looses steam a bit plot wise. Besides Peter Parker basically carrying the entire cast, the cast themselves are a bit bland and very much just supporting characters. Not a huge deal, but I think Slott focusing on the side characters a bit more would be good for the book.

Overall, fun, action packed, and funny - this is a definitely a Spider-Man book. So if you're a fan, check this out.

Uzaya çıkan ordan da balıklama Paris'e atlayan Spider-Man okumanın neresi keyifli?

My favourite volume of Spider-Man for some time. This continues the adventures of Peter Parker now that his company Parker Industries is hugely successful and has offices all over the world.

The first story sees Spider-Man in Shanghai but he's not the only one. Mister Negative has taken control of Cloak and Dagger, which obviously isn't good news. I liked this story and it was good to see Cloak and Dagger back in Spider-Man properly again as it's been quite a while since they last appeared. They also make pretty tough villains and Mister Negative is never a push-over either. Oh and there's a new Spider-Mobile...

Then the first arc of the series continues as Scorpio advances his plans. This is Spider-Man on huge scale. Usually we are only treated to this type of story in a rare six-parter story but perhaps this is the new norm. To try and stop Zodiac Spider-Man and Nick Fury travel into space to take out some satellites. Then Spidey free-falls back down to Earth. It's epic, and the sort of ridiculousness only a comic book can do, and brilliant.

We find out who Scorpio is in this story, although it's not a great revelation. Superhero comics have a big problem when it comes to villains. You can either re-use old ones but finding new plots is so difficult after such a long time or make new ones but they rarely end up as good as the old ones. That's the problem here, Zodiac and Scorpio just aren't great villains and don't work in the way people like Norman Osborn do. Put in a better villain here and Scorpio Rising would be nearly the perfect Spider-Man story (although the title would have to change I guess!).

A great volume which really shows well Dan Slott's idea of a global Spider-Man can work. There's a great tease about the next year of Spider-Man: Regent, Civil War II, Norman Osborn and Otto Octavius! So much to look forward to!

Part of the Zodiac is still at large; Scorpio is still out there with Gemini and Peter is still not so sure about what's their endgame. Meanwhile, there is this problem to deal with, he travels to China only to tumble into Mister Negative and Cloak and Dagger who - even though unwillingly - stepped in the line behind Mister Negative.

We pick the exactly where we left off, and I enjoyed this volume as much as I did the previous one. It's absolutely great to see Spider-man work outside of the US, from Europe to China and even going to space, and it's also exciting how Peter balances to be Peter Parker, CEO and genius, and to be Spider-Man, Peter Parker's bodyguard and international superhero. It's amazing and I love it. The art stayed as great as it was in the previous issues, the jokes and dialogues are as witty as ever. I really can't say anything bad and I don't really want to try either. If you liked the first volume, you will like this one, too.

I already miss him being the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. While it was kind of fun for the first Volume, it has me feeling homesick to have him back in New York. I do like Parker Industries, but I kind of miss him working for Horizon Labs. I miss J Jonah Jameson and some of his supporting cast. Peter just has so much going for him that he feels less like himself.

Maybe it was just the writing in this one or maybe it was just that I didn't care much about the Scorpio story, because I struggled with this one. I normally enjoy Mr Negative, but again this just didn't feel right.

I feel like I'm just complaining about this, but I did like the artwork and the story wasn't unbearable. It has me excited for the next Volume.

It was good. Slott's Spidey being Spidey. Fun moments and whatnot.. Not a huge fun of the whole Zodiac thing and the villains in general, but I like Spidey, the dialogue and the build up about other villains that's slowly coming together.

Aby go powstrzymać Peter odwiedzi Europę i sprzymierzy się z Nick'iem Fury'm.

Zero zaskoczeń i sporo wyglądającej akcji. Stagnacja?

I borrowed this book from my local library.

The Peter Parker as CEO angle is still highly annoying. Imagine, if you will, a kid who is a fan of the movies and decides to start reading Spider-Man comics. A kid who, against all odds of finding a comic shop unless he happens to live in an area that even has one, has parents who will give him four or five bucks to buy a comic instead of a Fortnite app. That mythical kid wouldn't even recognize what is going on here. Cue snarky fanboys (term used in the original pejorative) who say that kids don't read comics and that you (meaning me) can't accept change. The problem is not with the character, it is with the writer or fans who are so bored with the character that they will accept any change willy-nilly under the illusion of character development.

As clunky as the Peter Parker personal life angle is here, the bits where he is Spider-Man work for the most part. I enjoyed seeing the return of Mister Negative. While I am not a fan of the Ultimate Universe Samuel L. Jackson Nick Fury being in the main Marvel Universe, I am willing to let it go for the sake of the mythical kid who is just starting to read comics. To the civilian population, that is Nick Fury. Make mine Steranko, though.

The outer space satellite battle, coupled with Spider-Man making reentry with his Spider-armor, was among the dumbest things that I have ever read in a Spider-Man comic. I have a healthy suspension of disbelief but this was just stupid. I also can't say that I care for Mockingbird being shoehorned in as a sort of Spider-Man sidekick. It doesn't work.

On the flipside, there are some interesting subplots a-brewing. Dead and defunct villains like The Rhino, Electro, and The Lizard are reappearing behind the scenes. The superpowered hero(?) Regent is seen again. It has been revealed that Doctor Octopus' consciousness has been downloaded into The Living Brain.

So I'll keep reading since these developments are interesting, and because I don't have to pay for them since I checked them out of the library.

Místo toho dostáváme dva kratší příběhy, kdy v tom prvním pod nesmírně zajímavým názvem "Kingdom Come" musí Spider-Man dorazit do Číny, kde musí v Šanghaji překazit ďábelské zločinecké plány zločince jménem Mister Negative, aby ihned potom mohl během dění příběhu "Scorpio Rising" po mnoha předchozích událostech, jež nastaly během několika dní, opětovně bojovat s pomocí organizace S.H.I.E.L.D. se zločineckou organizací Zodiac pod vedením tajuplného Scorpia.
No a teď tady máme "Scorpio Rising", který bych rovněž mohl nazvat "Pekelná nuda".

I love Spider-Man comics. This new responsible boss man Peter Parker is moving in the right direction for a grown-up Peter. He has always been smart and it makes sense in his evolution that he would show the world what he creates.

This Volume has 2 arcs in it with one being about Mr. Negative and the other with the conclusion of the Scorpio story line.

Not every comic has to have wow factors, since there released at least monthly but this book was easy to read, with great art. Even though Peter is in a professional setting, he still finds time to be his funny self. I laughed several times when reading.

Not everybody will like this direction there leading Spider-man and Peter Parker but to me it makes sense. I know there is some trouble brewing ahead but I hope that at the end of it, Peter will still have his company. I'm tired of seeing down on his luck and out of money Peter, because he is too smart for that. I would hate for him to move backwards and place him back to the position he was in his twenties. That doesn't make sense, since he is no longer a kid anymore.

I am loving this new series of Spider-Man and can't wait to read volume 3.

Man, I'm really glad I tuned back into Slott's Spidey. The world at this point feels almost like an indie book, with Slott's long-game planning paying off left and right. This was great, and I was stoked to see Cloak and Dagger, along with a handful of other Spidey regulars I remember from my childhood. If you're not a long term Slott-reader, you might be left scratching your head with a few things, but both the Negative Man and Scorpio stories had satisfying and interesting conclusions. It's a great cliffhanger that actually doesn't leave the reader wanting too bad, just eager for what's next, and that's an accomplishment. The whole globetrotting angle of this book keeps it feeling constantly fresh, while still distinctly Spider-Man. Lots of good happening here, and I have serious catching up to do.

I'm not sure how I feel about this last arc, Worldwide, of Dan Slott's run. The art remains gorgeous and Alex Ross for covers was a get.

But. The thing about the Big Time and Spider-verse is that even as Parker was being pushed in new directions-steady job and girlfriend, he still remained Parker, balancing his responsibilities and usually still the underdog.

But having his own company and that company being a worldwide success. In the first volume, Parker referred to himself as a poor man's Tony Stark and that's what this is starting to feel like. The first hint of corporate espionage back in the Parker Luck was a fun tease and hint at what was to come. But now at volume 2 it is already a trope. Weird that Aunt May has gone missing for this entire volume.
