Ήταν μια φορά κι έναν καιρό ένα κλουβί. Ένα κλουβί σαν όλα τ' άλλα κλουβιά, με μια διαφορά: μέσα του δεν ζούσε ούτε καναρίνι ούτε καρδερίνα ούτε παπαγαλάκι, ούτε άλλο κανένα πουλί. Ήταν ένα κλουβί άδειο...
"Συμφορά μου", σκεφτόταν. "Ένα άδειο κλουβί είναι ένα κλουβί που έχει χάσει όλη του την... κλουβοσύνη! Ένα άδειο κλουβί πώς να 'ναι ο εαυτός του; Πώς να 'ναι ευτυχισμένο;"
Και, μια μέρα, αποφάσισε να πάει να βρει την τύχη του...

Rodoula Pappa is a writer and translator of children’s books. Her first book, The Boy with the Tree, was awarded the Greek National Prize for Children’s Literature. She is cofounder of the Volatilium and Tsalapeteinos children’s book imprints.

Des illustrations tout en finesse, qui nous font capter le moment présent de la scène et savourer ses moindres détails. Le récit se répète, mais ne cesse de monter en prestance au fur et à mesure que le carnaval des oiseaux se présente à nos yeux. Enfin, une fin remarquable et touchante, qui suggère des pistes de réflexion autant pour les tout-petits que les plus grands!

Gorgeous illustrations and a story that talks about confinement and how damaging this is to birds (and humans). The ending shows children how you can change your nature to nurture those you care about without restricting their liberties.
