Everything I Left Unsaid #3

Burn Down the Night

Rate this book
A battle for control turns explosive as a beautiful con woman takes a bad-boy biker hostage in this edgy, seductive novel set in the world of Everything I Left Unsaid and The Truth About Him.

The only thing that matters to me is rescuing my sister from the drug-cooking cult that once enslaved us both. I’ve run cons my whole life, and I’ll use my body to get whatever I need. Max Daniels is the last connection I have to that world, the one person reckless enough to get involved. Besides, now that his brothers have turned on him, he needs me too.

The deal was supposed to be simple: a place to hide in exchange for rescuing my sister. Now he’s my prisoner. Totally at my mercy. But I’m the one captivated. Enthralled. Doing everything he asks of me until I’m not sure who’s in control.

We both crave the heat. The more it hurts, the better. But what if Max wants a different life now, to leave the game . . . to love me? I thought I knew better than to get burned. Now I’m in too deep to pull away. And the crazy thing is . . . I don’t want to.

You want to fuck, let's do it. Let's burn down the fucking place. We got that in us...between us. But when it's over...all I'll leave you are bruises."

If I had a dollar for every time I read about an anti-hero that falls head over balls for the heroine and all of a sudden his switch is flipped form bad to good faster than you can say "golden vag", I could happily retire in my land of many books. So when I first met Max as the baddie MC prez brother of Dylan in The Truth About Him suffice it to say I was intrigued. Then when Joan carted him off wounded and passed out in her car in the end of that book, suffice it to say I was ready to sell an ovary to get my hands on his book. But I was also fearful that it would be another one of those books that I mentioned above. Joan was an interesting character to say the least in the first two books and I was beyond curious how these two very broken people would fit together. I wasn't sure what I expected when I started Burn Down The Night, but I can tell you that I certainly didn't expect it to absolutely blow me away. (Pun definitely intended).
My entire life I've been at the epicenter of crazy. I am the hurricane's eye.

THIS. This is what grit feels and tastes like. This is what angst is. This is what true tension feels like. This is what a slow burn feels like when it builds and builds to a flame so hot, it will explode everything in sight. I could actually taste the tension, it was so thick. And man, it was delicious.

If you haven't read the first two books, I highly recommend you do that before this one. While this is a standalone with a new couple and there's plenty of background given to make sure that a reader new to this series wouldn't be lost, I also feel like you lose a bit of the background going into this without the previous two books.

Burn Down The Night begins around where The Truth About Him ended. You get all the details that led to the events at the end of the book and a few puzzle pieces will definitely click together.
She had a chip on her shoulder so big and so hard it was like armor, hiding something so hot, so fucking needy, I could barely stand to look at her not bend her over something.

Joan is on a mission to rescue her sister from a mad men. Everything she has done up until this point has been for her sister. Her job as a stripper, her hiding in plain sight, the lies, the lies...and the lies. Now she's one step closer to the man that has her sister, and the wounded MC president, Max Daniels, is her answer to everything.

Max knew that coming back for his bother would mean certain death, and he was not wrong. Shot and left for dead by his brothers, he's kidnapped by a crazy woman that's apparently a lot more than she seems to be. Biding his time to exact his revenge on the men that should have been his loyal brothers, Max doesn't plan on the connection that slowly begins to build between him and Joan.
Save your act for other people. The lies and the show- I don't want it. I want you. Fucked up and crazy. I want you."

This book was the definition of a slow burn. Oh man but I loved it. The build up between Max and Joan is filled with tension and enough sexual sizzle to burn your fingers flipping the pages. It was so well developed, it was so amazingly written, that you can't but root for them from the very beginning. I loved how believable the author made their relationship. These two people have lived their entire lives on survival and lies, and anything quick would not fit. Molly O'Keefe wrote it in such a way that you truly understand what ties them together and bonds them.
With Joan- I wanted her to peel back her armor. Her skin. I wanted to see her beating heart. Her ragged should.

The writing was pure poetry. It some of the best I've seen from this author, and quite honestly some of the best I've read in a long damn while. It was lyrical, gritty, violent and erotic. And it all flowed together so well, and blended into a something that was purely addicting to read.
We were like magnets that had been flipped and as hard as we'd repelled each other-that's how hard we came together.

It's not a traditional romance, and if you're looking for that, you should look elsewhere. If you recall Joan's bisexual nature, you should also know that there are a few f/f scenes in this book. This was just another layer into the depth that is her character, however, and it only served to add to the story. Nothing was gratuitous about this story or these characters. Every scene, every word, every development served a purpose. There wasn't one wasted word.

I loved every single page of this book. I loved the characters, I loved the slow build romance, I loved the grit, I loved the realistic development and timeline, and I absolutely loved the end. For those that read The Truth About Him, the ending here will only serve to whet your appetite for the book that I"m hoping and praying will be next.

If you're looking for an action packed, gritty read filled with plenty of suspense, this book is an absolute must read!

The other day, I was totally minding my own business. Scrolling the feeds on GR..practicing on my GR bullying when I saw Vivian call out Kelly and I on our pervy reviews. She totally corrupted us and had us join in on a buddy read of this book. We were totally innocent.
Palm Springs commercial photography

I totally have to admit that I was corrupted by this dang book in the very best way though.
Palm Springs commercial photography

Olivia starts out life as pretty normal but then her dad dies and she takes over the upbringing of her younger sister Jennifer. Shit happens. She ends up changing her name to Joan and working in a bad guys strip club. She has to get close to a bad guy who is a Jim Jones wanna-be and has made her sister Jennifer his sister wife.
Palm Springs commercial photography

Joan decides she is going to go balls to the wall and get her sister back by taking on a motorcycle gang and blowing up the club and bad guy if she has too. You know that works out well.

She ends up sorta kidnapping the leader of the MC club.
Max.
Palm Springs commercial photography
And then he didn't spoon me, or try to seduce me. He didn't even cup my breast.
Bastard.
Screw him and his kindness and respect. He didn't have to rub it in.

Joan and Max (nevermind that he is passed out from getting shot) end up in Florida at Joan's aunt's old folks condo. They save Max but he has to get handcuffed to the bed for a few days..because he and Joan are neither one really on the good side of the law.
I give no shits though because these two were frigging hawt as balls. This is the whole alpha male book trope did up exactly right.

"Don't fuck me like you're some soldier going off to war." I snarled at him.
"You want me to fuck you like you are the war."

RAWR!!!!

I also never really thought two girls would turn me on. But there is some lady loving in this book that kinda confused me on my wiener preference.
Palm Springs commercial photography

I realized after the buddy reading of this book that I have the first book to this series (that you totally don't have to read in order) on my kindle somehow. I must have had ESP or something. Anyways, my body is ready!

5 “IT’S NOT EITHER OR” STARS

description

This is hands down my favorite installment of this series. It took me a few pages to get back into the swing of the storyline and the characters of the series but it all came back to me. The author picks up at the explosion scene that happened at the local strip club in the prior book. We find out exactly how Max Daniels, the mc president, ended up in the back of Joan’s car bloody and shot up.

description

Joan has been the most interesting/mysterious resident of the trail park. In this installment we quickly learn that our stripper isn’t with the FBI at all. She has been trying for months to locate her missing sister, Jennifer. Joan lost Jennifer to a cult and the leader of this group has been working a big drug deal with Max’s mc club.

”He was my last chance to get my sister. My last chance. And there nothing I wouldn’t do to save my sister.”

The obstacles to get Jennifer back are countless, yet Joan will stop at nothing to make things right. She is so used to taking caring of things on her own and doesn’t trust a soul. Max has watched Joan at the strip club for months. These two have something electric yet have never acted upon it, that is until Joan holds him for information leading to Jennifer.

description

Joan heads down to Florida and ties up the HOT biker in her estranged aunt’s condo. I SERIOUSLY LOVED the chemistry between Max and Joan. The scene at the pool with the residents was so great and their banter and chemistry could burn down everything around them including themselves.

”He would tear me apart. The tremor I felt in my stomach was part fear and part desire. Which was exactly the mix I liked with men. It was why I had only slept with women lately. Because my compass, when it came to men, led me into dangerous places. The risk. A far easier dynamic to survive.”

Max and Joan were two of a kind. Max isn’t weak and is actually is a total badass. He sees right through Joan and pushes for more. The story is told in dual POV and the author sure nailed both characters perfectly.

”Save your act for other people. The lies and the show – I don’t want it. I want you. Fucked up and crazy. I want you.”

description

Max has the ability to help her but will he? Max’s club had turned on him and intended to kill him. Will he return back home for revenge? Will Max reconnect with Dylan?

One thing is for sure Max and Joan’s attraction is inevitable…

”Mutual assured destruction. You and I have sex, get involved in that way…both us burn. Both of us. We’ll tear each other apart until there’s nothing left to walk away from.”

description

Joan reconnects with her Aunt Fern and the two make amends. This couple was just so perfectly matched. The story was so sexy and exciting. I loved what they found in one another and how Joan learned to trust Max.

Molly O’Keefe exceeded my expectations with Joan and Max’s story. The first two books in the series are about Annie and Dylan, however they should not be skipped to fully appreciate this story.

”Sometimes goodbye looked nothing like goodbye.”

While I enjoyed the first 2 books in this series, this one...

This one had IT. That thing that makes me love escaping into a book. I found myself completely wrapped up in Olivia and Max. Complex, flawed characters and a journey that kept me on my toes. Burn Down the Night is by far my favorite in this series.

Burn Down the Night is the third book in the Everything I Left Unsaid series. Although this book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the series together to grasp the full story arc of the characters and capture the beauty of every single moment!
description
“But I’ve been the queen of crazy for the last few months. The last year, really. Who am I kidding? My entire life I’ve been at the epicenter of crazy. I am the hurricane’s eye.”
Olivia "aka Joan" has been living a lie. Working undercover to save her sister who is being held captive by a cult-like/drug dealer named Lagan. She is willing to strip, steal, hurt, and take down anyone or anything that gets in her way. Not a local MC or bloodthirsty criminals can scare her away. When Max, a man from the local MC, lands directly in the path of her destruction, she is forced to either take him down or convince him to stand beside her. When Olivia tries to take down Lagan, Max ends up shot, and Olivia has to think fast on her feet.

description
“We’d been fucking each other for months without touching. And the last few days had this thing between us strung so tightly it was amazing we could move. He was going to wreck me. Break me. And I’d never needed anything more.”
Olivia takes Max across state lines and returns home to her estranged Aunt Fern, a former military nurse, she is the only person that can give Max the medical care he needs. Additionally, she can offer them safety as they hide in her retirement community. As soon as Max heals, Olivia hopes to use his connection with Lagan to get her sister back. Max and Olivia's relationship has been sexually charged since they first laid eyes on one another back at the strip club Max frequented and "Joan" stripped at while working undercover. Also, she is very aware of Max's life story after befriending Annie (Max's sister in law) in the trailer park she lived in. Although Olivia is attracted to Max, she isn't willing to let her guard down and allow anyone in. Her relationship with her Aunt Fern is broken, her sister is lost, and she now has Max, the man that she has wanted her in bed for a long time, handcuffed and "kidnapped" to win his trust. Needless to say, Olivia is one strong woman who will do whatever it takes to get what she wants. Max is like a bear that has been captured and tied down. When he gains his strength, will Max find the strength to tear down Olivia's walls, help her save her sister and help them both find peace?

description
“You want to fuck, let’s do it. Let’s burn down the fucking place. We got that in us…between us. But when it’s over…all I’ll leave you are bruises. Because that’s all I have to give you.”
Told in dual POV, Burn Down the Night was full of action, explosive passion, and intrigue. The characters are complex with their baggage and volatile dispositions. Olivia is especially unique with her open-minded views on sexuality. One of the most sensual scenes I have ever read is when Olivia uses another woman to tempt Max into helping her. For a moment I thought my Kindle might catch on fire! That scene however only served as foreplay for the true explosive sexual tension that was unleashed when Max and Olivia came together for the first time. It was brutal, rough, and beautiful! In addition to the delicious sexually charged scenes, I thoroughly enjoyed the emotional journey that both Max and Olivia took as individuals and together. The secondary characters continue to play a pivotal role in the series as Max tries to repair his broken relationship with his brother Dylan (our favorite broken hero from the first two books in the series) and Olivia who tries to gain trust with her Aunt Fern. Ms. O'Keefe continues to amaze me with her beautiful writing, complex plot, and sexually charged characters.
“I will always come. If you need me. I'll be there."
description
I highly recommend this read for anyone in the mood for a slightly darker romance, with intense action, grit and broken characters that aren't fixed but find their way together. This series is beautiful and well worth the investment. I look forward to the next addition to this series as these are one group of characters that will stay in my heart forever.

Well damn, that was all kinds of awesome. I’ve been a huge fan of Molly O’Keefe ever since I picked up the first book in the Everything I left Unsaid series and this third instalment only cemented that feeling. Brilliant writing, kickass characters, fantastic story lines and so much emotion. I absolutely loved Burn Down the Night.

This is the story of Max and Joan. While their story is isolated from the first two books, reading it as a standalone won’t be a good idea, in my humble opinion. The backstory, the mysterious woman that Joan has been for the last two books and Max’s connection to Dylan and the motorcycle club won’t make much sense or have enough of an impact if you haven’t experienced the other books in the series. Plus Dylan and Annie are enough reason to read in order.

That being said, Burn Down the Night is my favourite book so far. The cat and mouse game between Max and Joan, the insane chemistry between them and the gripping writing was just something special.

About the story? Well, basically Joan kidnaps Max in order to save her sister. And that’s all you need to know. It’s good, it’s so damn good.

Go read the first two books and pre-order this one! It comes out on August 9th! You can thank me later. ;P

That’s all. Thank you for your time.

Burn Down the Night was brought to my attention when a Goodreads’ friend posted a status update “gently hinting” that a buddy-read should happen . . . .

Palm Springs commercial photography

Since the requested participants of said buddy-read were last in line when Our Lord and Savior Tom Cruise was handing out willpower, she didn’t even have to get to the wedgie part.

So the plot goes a lil’ summin’ like this: Olivia was in school to be a nurse, but then stuff and things happened that landed her with a real charmer who quickly showed his true meth cookin’/sister wivin’ self. Olivia got out, but her sister remained. Fast forward to Olivia being known as Joan and working at a club in order to figure out how to save her sibling. It’s there Joan meets Max . . . .

Palm Springs commercial photography

Although the chemistry was off the charts when she was finding ‘em and grinding ‘em during a lapdance, neither was willing to drop their guard and give in to temptation. Fast forward again to some more stuff and things which leaves Max on death’s door and Joan the only person who might possibly be able to save him. How, you ask????

“You kidnapping me?” he asked.

“Only a little.”

While Joan and Max are in hiding, some truths begin to come out . . . .

“I let you go and you won’t kill me?”

“I was never going to kill you.”

“Right,” I laughed. “You were only going to beat the shit out of me?”

“I was going to fuck the shit out of you.”

And fuck the shit out of her he does . . . . eventually (*cough totally worth the wait cough*) . . . .

Palm Springs commercial photography

This book was hotter than a ballsack in 95 degree temps with 80 percent humidity. Not only was the leading male a bearded badass that called a certain someone to mind . . . .

Palm Springs commercial photography

But the plot was good with great pacing and just the right length as well. The writing was good too. It wasn’t over-the-top purple and distracting, just a little lavender when necessary. And the sex? Holy ladylove, Batman. Didn’t see that coming!!!!

Palm Springs commercial photography

I’m not generally into dirty talk or a lot of self-pleasure without actually sealing the deal, but I’m pretty sure my underpants melted off in the hood at my kid’s baseball practice where I was reading this so it gets every dang one of the Stars.

Many thanks to Vivian for being the cyberbully who forced this on me in the first place, to Shelby for always being another willing lemming ready to jump off the cliff, and to one of my favorite little smut-mongers Kathleen for hitting the request button as well. As for the author? You let me know if you ever want me to read anything else you’ve written. I’m getting real good at the sexy books : )

4.5 BURNING STARS

This is the third book in Molly’s spellbinding dark world of drug dealers, bikers and all around bad guys. Where the other books were dark and dangerous, this book takes on a whole new edginess that turned up the heat. This story starts of with a bang and only gets darker, hotter and more intriguing as the story unfolds.

Joan (Olivia) is a seductive, smart woman. A born survivor who wears her persona of Joan, a hardass, bisexual, stripper, like a plate of armour.

She's on a mission to save her sister and nothing will stop her. Not even Max, a hot, badass MC president, will get in her way. Max has his own problems with his MC.

As things get out of control real fast, Joan kidnaps (kind of) Max. She’s got herself in a life or death situation and he might be the only one who can help her. He's her leverage or link to getting what she wants.

 photo Burn_zps8rkera1u.jpg

Max and Joan are survivors with near impenetrable cold as ice exteriors but a deep sense of family and a huge sense of responsibility of those they love. She won't accept help, let people in or let herself feel anything. She and Max have this fiercely intense connection, well before they find themselves stuck together. But it's this live wire of emotions that has them “Throwing hand grenades at each other.” She's determined to do this on her own, but Max refuses to let her go into the dark alone.

In some ways, this was a slow build (in the physical sense) between Max and Olivia, but the heat was real and scorching throughout with these two searing each other with razor-sharp words, incendiary looks...and when they do get together...

“You’ve got one speed, Joan. One setting. Annihilate. That’s it. Burn it all.”

While it could be read as a standalone, I’d recommend you read the other two books first, as you get glimpses at both Joan and Max that will add another dimension to this tumultuous tale.

Highly recommend this burning second lease on life story!!

***4 "Either-or..." stars***

I haven't read the previous two books of the "Everything I left unsaid" but it wasn't hard for me to catch up with the story since the two heroes must 've been secondary characters in the previous books... So this one can be read as a standalone...

Well, this story was a little bit crazy and fucked up, but so intriguing!!!
The characters were also fucked up, but so interesting and beautiful with all those imperfections...
I really enjoyed this extraordinary story... I just couldn't stop turning the pages!!!

"Mutual assured destruction. You and I have sex, get involved in that way…both us burn. Both of us. We’ll tear each other apart until there’s nothing left to walk away from."

Joan's life was a mess... She was making bad choices and now, she was paying for them...
Because of one of her bad choices, her sister was in the hands of a shitty drug lord, the one whom from Joan got away but couldn't find to return back for her sister...
Now, her plan has holes but she has no other choice...

After spending months working at a strip club in order to learn more, the time is running down and she is making rush decisions.... And some of them are to put two bombs in the club, but her plan doesn't work very well...
She left behind a mess and she was left with a blooded biker in her foot...

What she will do about that???

“But I’ve been the queen of crazy for the last few months. The last year, really. Who am I kidding? My entire life I’ve been at the epicenter of crazy. I am the hurricane’s eye.”

Max's life sucks... He was an MC president, and before a while time back, he decided to left everything back...

...but something forced him to come back and he found himself in the middle of the mess that caused this fucking bitch and not only that, but his brothers tried to kill him cold blood...
Why did he returned back???

“I’ve been living a lie for months, waiting for the bullet in the back of my head. And it seems like maybe you’ve been living your own lie...
And I got no time anymore for shit that ain’t real. Revenge – that’s real. This thing between us – that’s so fucking real I can taste it. So, that’s all I want. And you want that too, don’t you?”

In the rush of the moment, Joan took with her Max and she drove them far away from there, somewhere that she could save his ass and with the hope that he will help her to find her sister, because of gratitude....

But the plan didn't work very well, as well!!! Max is refusing to take part in this madness, so Joan have to persuade him no matter what....
So, now Max is becoming her prisoner and she is his kidnapper!!!

"He was my last chance to get my sister. My last chance. And there nothing I wouldn’t do to save my sister."

"You kidnapping me?"
"Only a little."

Their relationship from the first moment was very strained...
They could kill one another, but at the same time, they were lusting over each other...
Their encounters were crazy like shit, but also very, very sexy!!!

They had so much chemistry, chemistry that they were refusing to acknowledge because they were scared shitless of what that will bring....
They had goals that didn't allow to the other to be a part of them...

“You want to fuck, let’s do it. Let’s burn down the fucking place. We got that in us…between us. But when it’s over…all I’ll leave you are bruises. Because that’s all I have to give you.”

Joan was a crazy bitch.... She was a tough nut to crack, but underneath she was soft as a butter...
Joan was afraid of life, because everything in her life was going south... She hadn't had big dreams and she wasn't trusting anyone....

She just wanted to take her sister back and in order to do it, she was capable to do crazy things and i respected her for that reason...
As for Max??? This guy scared her so much, because there was an unvisible connection with them...

He was dangerous for her heart...

“We’d been fucking each other for months without touching. And the last few days had this thing between us strung so tightly it was amazing we could move. He was going to wreck me. Break me. And I’d never needed anything more.”

“You’ve got one speed, Joan. One setting. Annihilate. That’s it. Burn it all.”

Max was so furious with Joan who held him hostage... He didn't want to take part in her mess... He was having his own problems... and they were too many!!!

Max was a bad ass biker who had been betrayed by his own brothers, so he was only seeking for revenge... but that crazy woman didn't let him go and he was getting mad, even though that he was lusting over her for many months...

Max wanted to change this shitty life that he was living because he couldn't stand anymore to look behind his back all the damn time...

"Save your act for other people. The lies and the show – I don’t want it. I want you. Fucked up and crazy. I want you."

"With Joan—I wanted her to peel back her armor. Her skin. I wanted to see her beating heart. Her ragged soul.
Anything less than that was bullshit."

This couple was very intriguing and i couldn't get enough.... I liked how they were together, even though that their denial was driving me crazy in some point....

“You and me are so alike,” he said. “Everything is either-or. It’s one or the other. Us or them. Sacrificing ourselves for our family because that’s all we have to give up. But I’m not giving you up, Joan. Not yet. And you’re not alone. That’s my promise. You are not alone.”

In here, i really liked Dylan and Annie, Jennifer, Aunt Fern and Eric... They were such awesome characters...

I would love to read the previous two books about Annie and Dylan and I'm curious about the next story... Soooo curious!!!!

Burning the Night was a very interesting read for me. It was a rather dark story about two sisters who ended up in a cult. The heroine Joan/Olivia escaped and was doing everything she possibly could to get her sister away from the leader Lagan. It took Joan a year to set a plan in motion, one that included bombs blowing off in a strip club. When all the smoke settled, she was left with one badass biker named Max who was shot and possibly dying.

Joan was a tuff character, never trusting no one. A loaner who wanted no softness or love in her life. She never hope for anything good to happen because for her, there was only the bad in life. Anyone who tried to give her kindness, she would push them away. The only thing that mattered was getting to her sister.

Max, well he was very similar to Joan in a way. He felt he was bad news for everyone who came close to him and it was just a matter of time before someone put a bullet through his head. He pushed his loved ones away hoping to keep them safe. For me, Max was my favorite character of this read probably due to the fact that he was first to change his ways and I felt him falling for Joan way before she was able to recognize her feelings for him.

It does take a while before these two get it on together. Oh they played with themselves in front of each other and then getting off and it was HOT! There was even a SCORCHING W/W scene something that is usually not my thing but with Max looking on and calling the shots I have to say that it actually turned me on. Once these two finally got their hands on each other I felt something was missing but once Max realized that he actually cared about Joan and wanted more than to screw her, OH MY, YES!! There is was, the thing that was missing.

There was a few things that held me back from this being a 5 star read, after the beginning there was not much action. Then again in the ending, I was hoping there would be more involved then what was offered. But hey, on a good note there was an epilogue and it ended this story very well and I believe it set things up for the next book in this series.

Special Note : Burn Down the Night is the third book in the series. I had no idea of this fact and read it just fine as a standalone.

Olivia didn't have the best time growing up, but she was always there for her little sister, Jennifer. After both parents passed away, they went to live with their Aunt Fern. Once they finished school they took off together, but times weren't always good. After bouncing around a bit and not having the best jobs, stumbling upon Lagan and his little community was heaven. He provided them with stability - a place to sleep at night, food and even jobs. Everything was good until Olivia found out the truth. Lagan had built his own cult. He'd brainwashed everyone. He had his own sister wives situation going on and even had convinced some of the people to help make the drugs that he was selling.

"I wanted to burn down the night."

Once Olivia found out she decided to leave, but her sister really liked working with the children there and didn't want to move again. Olivia didn't want to, but she left Jennifer behind. She thought she would have plenty of time to notify the cops and rescue her sister and the others living there, but Lagan was too smart. Immediately after she left he moved the compound, leaving Olivia clueless as to where her sister was.

"This had death-wish written all over it."

Olivia changed her appearance, changed her name to Joan and got a job as a stripper at Lagan's place so she could watch him and try to find the new location of the compound and her sister. This is where she sees Max. Max is the president of the Skulls MC. The Skulls are working with Lagan, moving the drugs he produces, so Max has to visit the strip club often. He's noticed one girl, Joan, but he has rules, "no sleeping with the girls." This doesn't stop them from watching one another though - chemistry building between them from a distance.

Joan tried to convince Lagan to tell her where the compound was so she could find her sister, but he wasn't willing to tell. Things don't go the way she thought they would even after she sets off a bomb, but in the midst of all of the chaos, she finds Max in need of her help too. His MC has turned against him and has left him for dead. This may just work for her. He could help rescue her sister. So she takes Max and heads to the only person who can help him and give them a safe place to hide.

"You kidnapping me?" he asked.
"Only a little."

Joan took Max to the retirement community where her Aunt Fern lived, posing as newlyweds on their honeymoon. Aunt Fern was a nurse in the Army, so she gives Max the medical attention he needs. When Max finally comes around though, he's not interested in helping Joan. Instead he wants revenge, so her only option at this point is to keep him captive until he agrees. She tries to use her sexual skills to convince him, but these two are too much alike and are only interested in their own agendas.

"We were the same kind of people. The same sort of wild and alone."

There is a F/F scene that is pretty hot! Joan uses it to try to get Max to abandon his revenge plot and help her. while it was hot, it didn't sway him. He was only interested in her.

"Save your act for other people. The lies and the show – I don’t want it. I want you. Fucked up and crazy. I want you."

The more time these two spent together the more they got to know one another and feelings began to develop.

"You want to fuck, let’s do it. Let’s burn down the fucking place. We got that in us…between us. But when it’s over…all I’ll leave you are bruises. Because that’s all I have to give you."

But are the feelings between them strong enough to make them hold on to each other. They are so used to putting other people's happiness and well being before their own. It's always been "either-or" for them, they've never been able to have it all. Until now. Can they save Joan's sister and still have something together or will they have to say goodbye?

"Sometimes goodbye looked nothing like goodbye."

It took a while for these two to "get it on," but I didn't mind because the story was so written well. I love that we got dual POVs in this story. I was pulled in from the beginning and wasn't released until the last page. I loved how we got to see more of Dylan and Annie too. I'm so glad there's another book in this series. There's just something about it that I love. Thanks Molly for another fabulous read!!

Did you see the new cover??? What do you think?

Hey! For Goodreads Romance Week here is a hot little cut scene from BURN DOWN THE NIGHT!! This is basically my heroine Joan - in a nutshell! Enjoy!!

The tip of his tongue came out and licked his lips, leaving them shiny. Leaving me wet.
His fingertips left my ponytail and touched my chin, my cheek. His fingers were calloused and rough and I loved it. I felt myself pushing into his touch, just a little. Like a cat wanting to be stroked.
His thumb touched my lip and my breath came out in a small shudder. I’d had sex with people that wasn’t this tense. This hot.
“Look at you,” he breathed. “Look at how bad you want it.”
“Are you going to pretend you don’t?” My tongue licked the edge of his thumb and he all but hissed.
I wanted more. I imagined sucking his finger into my mouth. I imagined the steel strength of his arms around my body. I imagined all of it. But I stayed locked on the edge of that bed. Our only connection his thumb against my lip.
I didn’t look too hard at why I wasn’t pushing aside his hand and kissing him. Why I wasn’t pulling off my clothes and pressing my body against his.
It had something to do with being afraid.
Being afraid of what I’d lose if I did that. Being afraid of what I’d leave behind. Something important, surely. A piece of my heart. A corner of my will. A giant hunk of my self-protection.
And I needed all of that, because it’s not like I had spare of anything.

In the first two books of the series and especially in the last one, we get hints of something going on between Max and Joan, both of who have lots of secrets and hidden agendas.

Max, being the president of the Skulls motorcycle club, well, it's not really too much of a secret what his secrets could be. But Joan is a whole 'nother story!

In the beginning of this book, we get the whole down low of what happened at the strip club...and after. I have to say that it's much different than what my imagination came up with!

Max had gotten shot and banged up a bit so Joan does the only thing she can think of and take Max to get help. Allll the way down to Florida where her Aunt lives. Her Aunt that she hasn't spoken to in seven years.

Luckily, her Aunt doesn't hold too much of a grudge and helps out the both of them. This basically forces them to step back and take a breather, which is something they both needed but the rub is...they are both so much alike. Not only in personality but in history and that means, they read each other very well. Max doesn't like that and Joan? Well, let's just say the dam bursts!

We get to know what makes each of them tick. And I really loved how they pushed each other just when they needed pushing.

description

The beginning sex scenes were a little different. You see, Joan, is bi-sexual and while it doesn't bother me in the least, this was my first f/f action. Not necessarily what I like to read and it was just a little awkward with Max. Even the beginning scenes with just Max and Joan were awkward. Thankfully, that changes.

Not only is Joan dealing with what's going on with Max but she has her own problem with her sister missing. And the whole club situation stems from her trying to figure things out.

I really enjoyed Max and Joan getting to know each other and it was really funny (and sweet) how Max kept wanting to know Joan's real name. Joan's relationship with her Aunt was a bit bittersweet and something we can all relate to in some way.

The condo residents were quite hilarious in their own ways but Eric sure did come in handy. And I quite enjoyed where things went with him! ;)

Finally, just when Max and Joan were beginning to get their acts together, one phone call blows that up. Max knew she would run so he had a tracking device put on her phone and it comes in quite handy!

There were a few twists and turns but I was happy with the way things turned out. It was especially sweet when Dylan showed up. I really love Max and Dylan's relationship.

The epilogue sets things up for Tiffany and Blake. Their book is coming out February 28, 2017.

I didn't know what I was walking into with this story given the end of the last one. Here we have Max Daniels, the president of the Skulls Motorcycle Club, shot outside of the Velvet Rope (a strip club) by his "brothers" who were trying to kill him. This after Joan, one of the strippers, had set off two bombs despite Max's efforts to stop her. She gets him into her car and we're off to craziness.

The only two certainties I knew about these characters were one was deadly dangerous and the other was a mystery. And, I wasn't certain I liked either one of them. If this story wasn't written by one of my most favorite authors, I'd take a pass otherwise. So, I dove in, holding my breath.

Honestly, I did take a complete breath until the end of the book. Max's dangerousness is real and is a threat to Joan for a large part of the story. She's an enigma as she shows no one who she really is, including her real name. We gain insights when she takes the seriously injured Max to her Aunt Fern's home in Florida, a woman she hasn't seen or talked to in seven years. It's here that Max and Joan do a dance that eventually disarms them, allowing the other to take in revelations that leave them open and vulnerable to each other.

This is not a traditional love story by no means. It's hard, sometimes mean, and refreshingly honest. Their journey had me participating more as a voyeur rather than empathetically as I had absolutely nothing in common with them to attach onto. But suddenly, I wanted them to win, survive and thrive because they'd earned it.

O'Keefe has once again done the impossible...made me care about characters who don't seem to deserve my emotional investment. It's an intellectually and emotionally rich story that I'm glad I decided to read, dragging feet notwithstanding. Kudos to the author who's never let me down. 4.5 stars

OMG that was so freaking good! This was all kind of perfect. I knew Joan & Max story was going to be such an incredible journey.

If you've read the first two books in the series you already know both our MC. I would recommend to read them because you'll get the connection better even if the author does a great work by captivating the new reader right away.

I was personally sucked in after the first pages. I was taken back to events that happened in The Truth About Him and I got an explanation about what had happened.

"You and I have sex, get involved in that way . . . both of us burn. Both of us. We’ll tear each other apart until there’s nothing left to walk away from."

Joan is a woman on a mission to find her sister. She would stop at nothing. She's also hurt and all kind of mess up in her head. Not feeling worthy of anything. She's just alone in her life and won't trust anyone.

Max is a badass biker with a lot of enemies. He's also very lonely and tries to protect those around him the best way he can.

When these two meets in a strip club, they are attracted to each other. Their darkness and cracks are what pull them together but it takes an "attack" gone wrong to get them close. Joan "kidnapped" Max because she has no choice. She saves his life and brings him to the only place she thought never getting back to.

“I’m not going to go anywhere. I’m not leaving you to do this shit on your own. And I do not want you to worry about me.”
“I already worry about you,” I confessed. “And someone should. You deserve that.”

This was a real slow build. Max &Joan have two different agendas. They have two different views on how their life should be. They are so different yet the same. Their relation is a balance of power. Who's going to win? Is there really something to win other than getting a chance in life at being happy?

Both of them try to resist their attraction as much as they can. I can't believe what I'm going to say but I think their fight against their sexual attraction was hotter than anything! It was delicious and arousing.

“I want you to touch yourself the way you like,” he said. “I want to see what gets you off. I don’t want a show, Joan. I don’t want to see what every guy who could pay the cover charge got to see. I want what you don’t show other people. I want to see you.”

description

Joan was a character I wanted to comfort most of the time. She has it all wrong but she doesn't know how to let someone in. Max is a little the same but he was more rational to me. He was ready to give a piece of himself.

“Stop teasing me,” I breathed.
“I’m not teasing you,” he said. “I’m making love to you.”

For those who are wondering about Max and Dylan, I'm just going to tell you this: You'll get yours answers. And you'll get more of these two. Maybe even a tear or two.

I can't recommend more to read this beautiful, intriguing and mesmerizing series.
Mrs O'Keefe, thank you for the ride, now I'll be waiting patiently for Blake's book

You can't make lemonade without some sugar.

Ever play cards and each hand you get is just crap. Doesn't matter how many times the deck gets shuffled and dealt, you always end up with random junk that ain't gonna do you any good. Well, that's life for Joan and Max. And boy do they have...

Issues.

You know how you get kids to stop biting or pulling hair? You find another kid with the same behavioral issue, stick 'em together, and Voila! They sort out pretty fast that it's not cool... or they become sociopaths. And this book is more than a little like that.

Joan has got some issues. Dragging baggage all around and fucking whatever catches her eye. Thing is, one flavor she likes a whole lotta is TROUBLE. Specifically her taste in men is bad news. When she's being good, she sticks to women, but when she jumps on the crazy train it's dick all the way.

Hello Max. President of the outlaw motorcycle club, the Skulls.
The sunlight coming through the big plate glass windows caught the sliver on his fingers and wrists. He looked like some kind of magpie king. A deadly assassin in some alternate universe.

Captive and front row audience to some interesting reveals. Joan keeps finding interesting ways to sublimate her raging desire for Max's dick.

This is a steamy read and it has you edging. There's all kinds of teasing and pulling out.

That begging was a game. This felt unbearably real.

Emotionally and physically.

Until finally, she eventually succumbs.

Anyway, the sex focus of the first half of the book is the exact opposite of what I like when I read erotica. I'm a woman, I know my body and what I like; I figured it out as a teen. It's the one instrument I can play aside from the cowbell. It doesn't give me any kicks to read about female genitalia or how to get it off. Trust me, I know how to do that, please shift focus to what I really want--more dick. I like men. I like the way they smell, taste, sound, feel--fuck yeah! That's where I want to focus. Now, Joan is bisexual so I get the one scene fine, but I want to know about her partner's body, not hers. Snorts. One reason I dig MM is because I'm totally guaranteed dick. 100% sure thing.

Of course, this turns Max's crank just fine, which of course I understand because I feel the same way about two hot guys--ain't nothing to disagree with. It all looks good. But, I digress... back to the story.

Heat, sex, wild emotional swings and we're roaring towards the conclusion with our heroes primed and pumped. Then. Flighty decision at the end--really? I mean it makes excitement at the expense of Joan's intelligence. Not TSTL, but definitely planning challenged. Disappointed. She was a heroine I was connecting with and then this slip into complete flibbertigibbet. And the stupid was contagious until good sense reasserted itself with a secondary character.

Nonetheless, the climax was pretty sweet and I got behind the muted violence with glee. It's oozing feelings in ways only emotionally repressed people can. Max and Olivia are building their HEA with a little help from family and friends. I liked the theme of redemption and hope. So the ending pushed this story back up to four star territory when it slipped back to 3.25.

Favorite quote:
Revenge. I made fist around the idea and held on as tight as I could.

Painful. Intense. Emotional. This book made me hurt. It made me hurt and hurt and then the author went deeper and ripped out my heart even more. If you have read the first two books in this series (don't worry, this can be read as a stand alone) you know of Joan and Max. And then you hear these two are somehow going to fall in love in this book, and you think, huh? How in the world is that going to happen? At the end of The Truth About Him, Joan drags a very injured Max into her car and races away. Their journey has just begun. Joan has been trying to find a way to save her sister for years. Joan and her sister Jennifer fell on very hard times and accidentally ended up in a cult - the kind where the leader is a lunatic and has a dozen wives. This lunatic also is a big drug dealer - and Max has been moving his product for him.

Joan escapes one night, but Lagan, the lunatic leader, is able to keep Jennifer, and basically threatens her life if Joan is ever seen again. Joan is swamped with guilt, and tracks Lagan's drug dealings to a strip club where Max's motorcycle gang has set up shop. After a series of events where Max's club turns on him, Lagan flees, Max is shot and beat up, and Joan, knowing that Max is her only connection to Lagan, drags him into her car, and she heads south to Florida where her aunt lives. A former combat nurse, her aunt can patch up Max....and Joan can force him to tell her how to contact Lagan, and eventually save her sister.

But Max is stubborn. Max has lived a very hard life - and done some very bad things. He wants out of the club life- but reason after reason he finds himself back with Lagan and his crooked motorcycle club. He has lived for months waiting for a bullet in the head, so when it comes, he isn't shocked. What surprises him is to wake up handcuffed to a bed in a condo in Florida. And for Joan to be his caretaker. Max is pissed. He wants out of the handcuffs and he wants revenge on his club and all those that turned on him. But Joan needs him to help save her sister.

There are many, many other factors that come into play but it's too much to get into. They both have very messy pasts that the author very patiently introduces to the reader. They both have very complicated relationships with their family - Max and his brother Dylan, and Joan and her aunt Fern. It's intriguing, and painful and I love that the author gives you all of this back story which richly enhances this story.

This book almost entirely takes place in a condo in Florida - and yet I could not stop turning the pages. For a long time, Max is handcuffed to a bed - and I could not stop turning the pages. The author gives you such raw and emotional conversation, it's completely captivating. Max had seen Joan months before all of this went down, when she was a stripper at his club. He had an instant reaction to her, so she isn't a stranger when he finds himself locked up in a bedroom with her.

"You. That night at the club. Watching me. Remember?"

He sucked in a breath. My skin was so hot under his gaze, I could barely stand it. "Oh, I fucking remember."

He jerked his head back, his cheeks flushed, and fuck if I wasn't into it again. This guy, this fucking guy. It was a chemistry thing between us, something animal and base. Unreasonable.

"That night, I left the stage and I thought you'd come find me. I was waiting for you to come find me. But you didn't."

He shook his head. All tight and restrained. Controlled. Oh God, I loved that. I wanted to pull at those restraints. I wanted to unravel them, one by one, and see what would happen.

These two are both so broken and damaged, the tension between them became so thick. Max and Joan have both made bad choices in life. They both feel like they don't deserve any happiness in their lives. Max will do anything to get out of the handcuffs and get revenge on his so-called friends in his club. Joan will do anything to keep Max chained up until he agrees to help save her sister. Because they are both so brutally intent on their course of action, they hate each other. Neither is willing to give up anything, and so they come to a standstill. And simmering beneath this hatred and this pain, is explosive chemistry.

"Suck my dick and I'll call him."

"You're lying."

I was. I was lying.

"Fine, suck my dick because you want to. Suck my dick and I'll make you come so hard you black out and for a minute, one goddamn minute, we'll pretend we don't live like this. We'll pretend that we're normal. That we're decent fucking humans and not the pieces of shit we are."

The torment made me ache. They both try so hard to be in control of each other, and because their future is unraveling and they have nothing to hold on to they are desperate for this control. So they pick and torment and rage at each other. But then things start to change. They open up about their past. They start telling small truths to one another. They take a moment and see just a teeny tiny glimmer of what their lives could be together in the future. But there is so much weighing them down in the present, it's almost impossible to keep that glimmer of hope alive. Their fear of actually admitting their feelings and realizing they care about someone, and the fear of losing that someone, is intense.

He pulled me right up against him, so his breath was on my mouth. A kiss I couldn't have.

"But I want you to tell me it hurts," he said. "Stop playing this hard as ice game of yours and tell me that it hurts to push me away. Tell me that this thing between us matters to you."

We stood there looking at each other and I couldn't hide my shock. I was slack jawed and limp in his grip.

Of course it fucking hurt. It felt like ripping off my skin to watch him leave. I'd never had anyone like him in my life. Not ever. And maybe I never would again.

And the grief of that would put me on my knees if I said the words.

But somehow they do - and eventually Max gets unchained, and things happen and more things happen and my heart broke and then it smiled so hard. Molly O'Keefe writes the hell out of this book. She takes two flawed and broken people and just lays it out. No barriers, no skirting around issues. She just lays them in front of us in all of their pain and makes us take it . And I loved every single word of it. Easily the best book I've read this year.

Grade: A

P.S - As I mentioned, this book can be read as a stand alone, but I also highly recommend the first two books in this series. Everything I Left Unsaid and the sequel, The Truth About Him. The HEA for the Dylan (Max's brother) and Annie comes in the second book.

DNF at 43% - No rating as I did not finish the story.

Unfortunately, this was not a win for me. I was under the impression that Burn Down the Night could be read as a standalone but I struggled to understand what was going on. The introduction to the characters was very limited and what I did find out about them I didn't particularly like. This is just me, though, I'm not very tolerant of people who do stupid things over and over again.

As a reviewer, I like to give a book a fair go...but you like what you like and I don't like

This is a very popular series and I have a lot of friends who loved it. Definitely worth checking out more reviews before making your decision.

Burn Down the Night by Molly O’Keefe is a 2016 Loveswept publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! Joan and Max! Who would have thought? The DEA agent and a biker?

For those following along in the series, you will remember Joan, the stripper/DEA agent and Dylan’s brother, Max, the member of a dangerous biker club. If you think you have them figured out, well guess again, because their story is nothing like I thought it would be.

Joan’s sister, Jennifer, is living in a cult, one that Joan managed to escape. Now Joan’s entire existence is centered around finding a way to free her sister. It has become a ‘desperate times calls for desperate measures’ situation.

But, Joan’s plan backfires with Max getting shot in the melee, and Joan pulling him to safety and making a quick getaway. She makes it to her Aunt Fern’s home in Florida and holes up there with Max as her prisoner.

Max has information that could help her find Jennifer, but he’s holding out on her, knowing her plan is like a kamikaze mission.

While Max recovers from the gunshot wound, he and Joan are reminded of the attraction they had been dancing around and once again begin flirting with all the possibilities of acting on that chemistry.

But, the connection they feel for each other goes way beyond the physical or sexual realm as these two damaged souls find something in each other that inspires them to do the right thing, to go the extra mile, to take a chance, to open themselves up and accept the love they each have to offer.

First of all, I have to start with the disclaimer, or confession, that I really, really avoid anything that reeks of NA, nor am I into the biker club romance novels at all. I’m much older than the targeted audience for this type of reading material, so anytime I pick up a book and see that duel first person narrative, I run for the hills. But, because I had read Ms. O’Keefe’s novels for a while before starting this series, I took a chance on it, and I’ve never regretted it.

I will admit that the sex scenes dropped out of my comfort zone this time around, but while some may find it erotic, it opened up some rather humorous exchanges between Joan and Max. Because it fell into the context of the character’s personality, I wasn’t as prudish about it as I might be ordinarily. Other than that, I thought that the sensuality was fitting, and despite the initial shock and awe, a special tentative tension began to build between the couple that has feels and emotion attached to it, which is more to my liking.

I also appreciate the dialogue between Joan and Max, which is the key to opening up the deeper connections between them, not just what happens between the sheets, which is an element many of NA/contemporary novels fail to include, making the characters too shallow.

This series is mesmerizing and addictive, and I think the thing that makes it so absorbing, for me, is that the characters are so far down on their luck, they have to reach up to touch bottom. But, they fight, hard, despite the odds, and prove that love can melt even the most hardened heart. It is also inspiring to watch someone claw their way up and have the tenacity and courage to walk away from the life that is dragging them down, gain confidence and self-esteem, and strive for a better, stable life. Also, at the heart of the story, is family, and the ending is especially focused on that, which is very special.

Overall, this is another awesome addition to the series, and I’m definitely excited about the next installment.

This review and the rest of the crap I write can be seen @ my blog Bark's Book Nonsense . Stop by and say hey.

*I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for a review. Here it is!

Joan has hatched an incredibly dangerous scheme in order to rescue her sister from a dangerous, drug cooking, sister-wife cult leader who has ties with a motorcycle club (a mouthful, I know, sorry). She’s spent the last six months prepping for this moment but things go slightly awry, as things do. She ends up without her sister and kidnapping the injured leader of the motorcycle club.

In his gory face his lips twisted and it was almost breathlessly eerie. A terrible reminder that he might be laid low for the time being but he was still the devil.

Uh oh. But that’s not all . . .

He would tear me apart. The tremor I felt in my stomach was part fear and part desire. Which was exactly the mix I liked with men. It was why I had only slept with women lately. Because my compass, when it came to men, led me into dangerous places. With women—I was the dangerous place. The risk.

These two are now lying low, having made some very dangerous enemies, and are sequestered away in a small condo while Max heals from his injuries. There is tension, sexual and otherwise, as they’re stuck together trying to figure out their next move. They are truly two of a kind and both are pretty much a hot mess and, because of it, this book is stuffed to bursting with angst. If you like angst, boy do I have a book for you.

I like angst so this book was for me but I’m not going to lie, there was a point when even I became tired of listening to them agonize all over themselves but that’s when something beautiful happens and, nope, I am not going to give anything else away even though I really want to.

This is a sexy and lovely romance with beautiful characterization and some rough edges and it’s definitely worth a read if this sounds like your thing.

★★★ 3 Stars ★★★

This book started off really well for me, despite playing catch up with all the goings-on that happened in previous books, I was definitely able to jump in and get up to speed on things that took place in books 1 & 2, that are pertinent to this new standalone in the series.

I'm not sure what it was that didn't quite click with me, I think the middle section that seemed to drag on a bit, and my interest kind of waned by the lack of action or anything that particularly excited me. The sexual tension was probably the only thing that kept me reading until the end.

"If we weren’t in this stupid situation, we might have been friends.
Lovers for as long as we could make it work because we were the same kind of people.
The same sort of wild and alone.
This thinking was dangerous, I knew.
I had no business feeling any kind of kinship with him."

It's the story of a Motorcycle Club president who is wounded and held captive by undercover stripper Joan, who is attempting to rescue her sister from a cult.

Max is fuming that he has been taken, and at first refusing Joan's demands to help locate her sister, but it's not long before he is under her spell and they come up with a deal that will help both of them.

It was a good solid story, but unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the spot.
Also FYI,

Burn Down the Night is a standalone erotic romance, told in dual POV.

This story is about a man being betrayed by his MC (this is not an MC book), being kidnapped by the crazy woman trying to blow up a strip club. Joan has escaped a criminal cult leader 6 months ago but before she could save her sister they were gone. Can Max help her? Will he help her? What will they do when they feel something more could be possible between them... It isn’t either-or anymore.

I liked the story but unfortunately I’m not a big fan of insta-love and even though they fight their feelings a little it all goes to fast for me. I also didn’t immediately like Max. He seemed like a man who wouldn’t mind hurting a woman. Joan seemed cold and detached but inside was a caring woman who would do anything to save her sister. But the chemistry is hot...

Overall I did like the story and give it 3.5 stars. Maybe I would have loved it more if I would have read the 2 previous books...

Burning the Night
Everything I Left Unsaid series
Book 3
Molly O’Keefe

This my first book by Molly O’Keefe & mostly not my last one…. While I didn’t read the first 2 books in this series, this one...

I went into this book blind. I didn't realize this was book 3 of a series

It was a rather dark story at times, about two sisters who ended up in a cult. This is a very sexy book at times ....it was very scorching hot, fast-paced & action filled story. But for while it was very very slow paced….. But it will take you on a journey which is unforgettable & yet manage to take your heart captive due to raw emotions .

I belive you can read this book as a Standalone book, but I am guessing that to get the full effect you need to start from being

1 Everything I Left Unsaid- Published October 13th 2015
2. The Truth About Him- Published November 24th 2015
3. Burn Down the Night- Published August 9th 2016
4. Worth It - ?

I think that I am going to wait until this series is finish & come back & reread+ from the being

‘This thing between us strung so tightly it was amazing we could move. He was going to wreck me. Break me. And I’d never needed anything more.’

Burn Down the Night picks up from the end of the second book and it didn’t take us long to recapture the feelings, the characters and the events which lead up to this moment and learned a whole lot more in the process!

This instalment can be read as a complete standalone however, to garner an overall feel of events leading up to this book, we’d probably recommend checking out the first two books in this series, however the author does do a good job of getting the reader up to pitch, making it easy to follow, so it’s up to you how you if you want to pick this up as a standalone or not.

Wow! What a ride! Thrills, spills, secrets, lies, excitement, kidnapping, hot as hades sex, combusting sexual chemistry, suspense and there’s even some steamy girl on girl action! Our Kindles nearly exploded! Joan is quite the sensual bad arse that’s for sure!

‘She was a fucking force of nature. Every other woman in the world looked like a child compared to her.’

After escaping the clutches of a crazed commune living drug dealer, Olivia has been using an assumed identity and spending her days planning the rescue of her sister Jennifer who she was forced to leave behind when she fled. Joan (Olivia) will stop at nothing to rescue Jennifer, and at times her impulsiveness causes her to act a little careless, making mistakes along the way. One of her bright ideas is to kidnap the President of the Skulls MC Club, and recruit him to help her get her sister back which has explosive and very sexy consequences!

“You’ve got one speed, Joan. One setting. Annihilate. That’s it. Burn it all. And I don’t want to be burned.”

Max is the hard living brother of millionaire Dylan who we met in the previous books. Max has only ever known the brotherhood of his motorcycle club but they’ve turned on him, leaving him questioning his future and what he wants and he’s consumed with a need for revenge.

There’s a smouldering chemistry between Joan and Max that ratchets up a thousand notches when, handcuffed to the bed, Joan uses her wily ways to convince him to help her. He’s not budging and neither is she, forcing each of them to get a little ‘creative’ in their coercion, and we think Joan with her girl on girl action won the toss there. What red blooded man could resist that?

‘Me and Joan – we were a scene just breathing.’

Joan and Max both have chequered pasts with hardened their hearts and Joan is one bad arse with little softness, Max is pretty much the same and watching these two verbally stoush and fight the chemistry between them…..wow! It’s bloody hot! The author did a fabulous job of building the eroticism and chemistry between the two as the heat leaped off the pages!

“Don’t trust me. Don’t care about me. Don’t….even like me. And I will do the exact same for you. So when we walk away from each other……” ‘It won’t hurt.’

We were glued to our Kindles from the very first page as Max and Joan’s fight to the finish had us swept up in the intrigue, excitement and passion of their story and Fern was a revelation! What a kick arse woman to have as an Aunt! Burn Down the Night was yet another winner from from M O’Keefe!

In typical M. O’Keefe manner, this book is a scorcher! This is one writer that knows how to turn up the heat and lay on the sexual tension thick as a blistering summer day. That hot, heavy, I can’t breathe feeling you get right before a storm…. Ya, That is how Molly writes!

Edgy and exciting, this story takes us on a trip that you won’t forget! With glimpses into the life of a motorcycle club president and a crazy chick with two names that has nothing to lose, this book is full of the heat, excitement, and passion that makes this a memorable read. Gut clenching and deep, you wonder if they can ever get to any type of HEA.

This book is am amazing addition to the series. If you have not read book one or two… you simply have to. These books are definitely a must read in order series so you get the whole experience of the story. But let me tell you, they are worth the time and investment.

Title: Burn Down The Night
Author: M. O' Keefe
Category: Romance
POV Dual
Series or Standalone: Part of series but can be read as a standalone too.
Plot: 5
Characters: 5
Scorching Level: 5
HEA: Not telling

Excellent!!! I was very eagerly anticipating this book and it didn't disappoint!
Best book in the series in my opinion!
We are still in the Everything I left Unsaid universe and we now get to meet Max, the president of the Skulls MC and Dylan's brother.
Joan is a woman fighting to get her sister back and she has to do it all on her own. She has no one but herself on her side.

I was Maleficent. Horned and vicious, my wings ripped off. Ready for bloody revenge.

Joan is not your usual heroine; she is strong, brave and stoic. She wants her sister back and Max has to be the one to help her. When her initial plan goes horribly wrong, Max will find himself in her hands.
Joan knows that Max is the key to her sister's salvation and so, she will use him to get to her.
The amazing thing about this book is that both characters are perfectly imperfect. They are strong and intimidating and they both have troubled pasts. Can these two help each other while at the same time save Joan's sister?
The book has excellent development and great secondary characters. The settings in sunny Florida becomes the complete antithesis of our character's personalities and the book's overall mood. The character development keeps you glued to your seat because you have to know how these characters get themselves out of this dangerous mess!
The writing as always is flawless! The author has great skill in making her characters relatable to her readers and that is what makes her one of my favorite authors ever.
Do not miss this book. One of the highlights of my summer.

5 Stars
