Personal Reaction:
I thought this book would be a great addition Kindergarten though 2nd grade classroom for a plethora of reasons. While the book is very general, it does a great job at covering not only what the seasons are, but how they are caused as well. There are also many supplements to the reading that the reader could use to look even deeper into how seasons are caused. The book contains lots of images that will supplement the reading and the experiments in the book make it very engaging.

Purpose/Use in Classroom:
This book would be a great resource to supplement a science unit on the seasons and how the Earth orbits around the sun. The book contains many easy experiments that even a child could perform without parental supervision that only requires common objects in a household. This would be a good book for both independent and as a read aloud. I would most likely assign it as an independent reading book because their is a lot of great vocabulary words and a glossary that could help the students with defining them. The conventions range from the bolded words with glossary terms to reviews that are at the end of each chapter.
