Travel to passion with Kate Perry! Book 1: More Than a Dream (A TTP San Francisco romance) Book 2: Some Kind of Heaven (A TTP Maui romance) Book 3: A Lot Like Love (A TTP London romance)
Maui art gallery owner Leilani Wakida wants one thing: a holiday fling. Since her fiancé Aaron died over a year ago in a surfing accident, Leilani's been playing the role everyone expects of her: widow of the beloved island son. No one's willing to tarnish Aaron's memory by even looking at his woman, much less touching her. But enough is enough. When Leilani's offered the opportunity to travel to London to help coordinate an art show at a prestigious gallery, she jumps at the chance to kill two birds with one stone: visit the best art city in the world and have a casual affair. The last thing she wants is to be tied to another man. When Leilani meets dashing British banker Coin Melbourne, she knows he's the perfect man for a holiday romp. Any doubts are banished by their first smoldering kiss. Unfortunately, he didn't get the memo. While Leilani just wants to play, Colin's playing for keeps.

I found this book for free on amazon. This is a nice, quick, vacation romance. What starts as the heroine, Leilani, wanting a vacation from her island of Maui to London's art scene, turns into true love. We get insight into the heroine and what drives her decisions. However, I would have liked to see more about the hero, Colin. The author frequently makes references to the changes that Colin has made in his life, but it was never fully explained why he chose those changes. Also, Colin has an eccentric cousin with a colorful wardrobe that helps to drive the plot, but we don't find out what drives this cousin, either. I'm hoping this is a set-up for another book. Perry did a great job of moving Leilani through grief, and coming to terms with a loss in her life, enabling her to move on. It wasn't overdone, nor were the implications of her choices ignored. Kudos to Perry. This book had subtile sizzle. There were some descriptive scenes, but much was left to the imagination. It was a very nice balance and fit the tone of the story. I would recommend this story.
Rarely do I read romance specific writings. This proved to be enjoyable with a small paragraph structure and 139 pgs it made for a quick and easy read, plus it was free. Told from the perspective of both the main characters, Melanie & Colin; a story about a woman who placed her life on hold with the help of her community following the untimely passing of her fiance. After a chance encounter she is given the opportunity to travel abroad and gain some new beginnings. Role reversal: She's only interested in a little physical action whereas he wants more.
A very light romance. Bordering on fairytale-ish especially the part where Colin meets Leilani in Maui, barely speaks to her, returns to London and then admits that if she hadn't shown up when she did in London, he contemplated going back to Maui to chase her down. I partially rolled my eyes at this and went hmmm...
I zoomed through the rest of the book, wanting to get to the end cos I hate to leave books unfinished.
It was OK. The secondary characters were more interesting to me. It wasn't even that I couldn't understand why Colin found Leilani to be amazing for reasons that I didn't agree with, he just basically said she was exotic and beautiful. That's it. And as for Leilani's character we never get anything really from her except her fiancé died and she likes art. It was also wrapped up in a bow too quickly and it was pretty cheesy. No steam as far as I could see, but it was free...
It was ok. Didn't grab me as much as I would have hoped. Didn't fall in love with the characters as I usually do, found it too quick and short. I wouldn't recommend this book to a friend. I felt as I had to push myself to finish it. I almost stopped reading it a few times and I am glad I finished if but I wasn't a fan of this one.
In The Holiday, Leilani owned an art gallery on Maui, Hawaii. She loved her island, her job but felt trapped after the death of her lifelong friend and finance when he drowned surfing. It is worse because everyone on the island treats her as his widow and expects her to stop her life with his loss.
She takes The Holiday to London when it is offered and finds a new life, a new love and a new home where she can feel at home. Colin is a delightful love, a clueless male and very sweet and adds touches of humor along with his cousin George.
This was a cute love story of Leilani and Colin. The biggest obstacle for Leilani was her dead fiancé. Her hometown of Maui wouldn’t let her forget he was dead. Aaron’s mother wanted to keep him alive through Leilani. Leilani going to London helped her face life was better there than at home. I enjoyed this story.
I have had this book on my iphone for awhile now and I was just leisurely reading a page here or there as I got caught without a book. The story of a young gallery owner Leilani wanting a holiday fling sounded like a great story idea. She is from Maui and he is from London. Everything in the story was ok until she just happens to find herself in a London spilling the beans day one. Now come on!! Really! You mean to tell me a woman that has never been with a man outside of her dead finance can just up and tell a British hot banker that she wants to jump his bones, just like that! And it gets better. He is into her and wants her the same. There is no story behind that! What happened to the woman dropping hints and all? Well it gets better. NOT SURE IF THIS IS A SPOLIER but...He falls in love with her and she is not into moving from hot vacation sex to something more. REALLY!!!! LORD! I wish a hot British banker would ask me to marry him! And did I mention he is from a wealthy family too! Back to the story. It just seemed to Disney to me. I did not have one bit of "poor Leilani" when it came to her feelings and this man issue. The writing and the story are perfect bubble gum read. And that is why I think it's ...
I was actually surprised at how much I endjoyed this story considering it has such a low rating. It was a quick, but very enjoyable read. The characters were quirky, fun, and surprisingly well developed for such a short book. I feel that the author used her words well, creating a quick and solid read.
Have you ever read a book that made you smile from start to finish? This is so that book! I adored Colin - an adorable, sexy Hugh Grant type that you just can't help but like. Leilani was a flower that had to leave Hawaii in order to bloom. A definite feel good, sexy romance. Loved it! 5 stars
Quick read, and reminded me about my trip to London. I understand how Leilani could fall in love with London so easily. I like how she said goodbye to her former love by the sea, and realized she truly was in love with Colin.
This was a short, but sweet romance story. I enjoyed it, but was very annoyed by the obvious grammatical errors all over this book. I definitely could've delved in to the characters' stories more, but regardless, it was a nice, short read.
This book was a sensually romantic adventure if a lifetime! I was swept away by Colin and Leilani's story! From Maui to London, this story will delight your senses and your heart! Great cast of supporting characters too!!
I enjoyed this story, because of Colin's endearing nature, and the fact he won Leilani over. The book as a whole was interesting, and I liked Colin's friend from the gallery who was trying to get them together.
I found this for free on Smashwords and I read it straight away. it was a great romance. loved it. felt it ended a bit fast though. Will deffo read something from this author again. =)
I got this book for free on iBooks and the first few chapters had me completely hooked. Unfortunately that did not last through out the book. As it went along it just seemed to get dull.
I got this free, and it was really good. A perfect light romance. I was a little sad when it was done. Definitely worth checking out other books by Kate Perry.
