Jean-Claude Suàres (March 30, 1942 – July 30, 2013) was an artist, illustrator, editor, and creative consultant to many publications, and the first Op-Ed page art director at The New York Times.
This book does not stand up to the test of time. The text is mainly scientific facts about what we know about the planets and solar system in 1979. We have learned a lot since then. Almost all of the photos and illustrations are in B&W. With the advent of the internet, you can find almost all the photos and illustrations in better quality images and in color. I like collecting books on science fiction history but this is not one I'll keep.
