Whispers in Eternity

Rate this book
My post-high school goals had been right on track—literally. But when the doctors said that I could no longer run, I was faced with two choices—give up or change direction. Unexpectedly, singing became my new passion—a passion fueled by the most gorgeous guy I had ever met. I can't say that I believe in love at first sight, but after meeting Gavin, I can now say with certainty that I believe in recognition at first meeting. He was unquestionably my soul mate. Only one obstacle stood in our way. He was a ghost.

'Whispers In Eternity' is a Young Adult, Paranormal Romance. The story follows Noelle, a teenage girl, who receives a heart transplant and connects with her donor. This is book #1 in the Eternity series. I look forward to finding out what happens next! I won Jacinda Buchmann's book through Goodreads Giveaways.

I received a free copy of this book in return for an honest review.

I really loved this book. There was nothing I didn’t like about it.

All the characters in this story were well rounded and fully developed, not just the two main characters, but all the minor characters as well. The book is written from Noelle’s point of view and I really liked her a lot. She was a believable person and I could easily connect with her on many levels and empathise with her in her situations. Gavin was very likeable as well and I felt Noelle and Gavin were perfect for each other. Noelle’s parents, her aunt and her friends Malik, Kiera and Rupal, all seemed like people you would know and their presence enriched the story.

This is a sweet, heart warming paranormal romance, where Noelle finds her life changed dramatically due to a medical condition, and then meets a ghost who she falls in love with. There were many twists and surprises in the storyline and the only thing I found predictable was the ending, but then I was hoping that was going to happen anyway, although the way it happened was a bit unexpected.

Whispers In Eternity is a very well written story and the situations and characters are all very real, believable and relatable. The book kept me interested from the beginning right through to the end and I just wanted to keep on reading it at every opportunity. I found the story to also be a bit of an emotional roller coaster from about two thirds into the book through to the ending.

I’m looking forward to the next book in The Eternity series called Echoes In Eternity coming in December 2015.

I highly recommend this book to lovers of paranormal romance stories.

Noelle and Gavin have an amazingly sweet love story, only problem... He's a ghost. Noelle is a fighter who deals with major medical issues throughout much of the story. Since I have a child with medical issues it meant a lot to me to read about her ups and downs through the story. The ending is so bitter sweet since I spent the entire book rooting for Noelle and Gavin to work out but you know that she has to die for that to happen. I wish that we got to see more of Malik's love story but was so happy to have him and Aunt Mae back! Another excellent read by Jacinda!

Whispers in Eternity – Jacinda Buchmann

‘Love is eternal and nothing can separate us.’

I received a free copy through the Goodreads Giveaway.

I am writing this review while I am surrounded by scrunched up balls of used tissues - half due to my awful cold that has kindly been passed on to me by my loving boyfriend; the other half from catching the tears that Whispers in Eternity have caused.

It all begins when Noelle, a 16-year-old in High School, finds out that her running days are over due to problems with her heart. Her condition is so bad that she has to remain in a hospital till a perfectly working heart is ready for her; but for this to happen someone needs to die. When her surgery is successful, she gains an amazing talent of being able to sing – a talent that the previous owner of her heart had and he was a famous pop star. Inheriting a gift of being able to see ghosts from her father, basically his job title is a Ghostbuster, she is haunted by the pop star that her heart belongs to.

This was such an emotional story that I’ve probably been through every emotion possible reading this. Happy – for when Noelle got her new heart. Sad – when Rupal died. Angry – when Gavin left. Whatever emotion I felt, it affected me the whole day even when I was at work. So when people asked me what was wrong, I couldn’t say ‘because of the book I was reading’, they would think I was crazy and wouldn’t understand how much this story meant to me.

I’m not much of a soppy romance person but if you are, then this would be an ideal read for you.

Noelle's dream was running. In high school on the track team. She was in her glory. Her dream was to go to collage on a scholarship. Until the day she collapse while running. Her life takes a drastic turn. Now spending her life in the hospital waiting for a heart transplant. her dreams have ended. Now she needed to find a new direction. After the transplant she and her mother move to her aunts in another town where Noelle gets a fresh start and a new direction. Where before she couldn't carry a tune. Now she can sing. Meeting Gabe through her friend Malik. She doesn't realize at first that no one else can see him except Malik. She feels an instant connection with Gabe. Like she has known him forever. What hope can she have with him when he is a ghost.

Noelle is a wonderful character. Fun, smart and funny. After everything she has gone through she comes out on the other side of it determined to roll with the changes. She had her moments of depression and doubts. Picking up the pieces of her life. I don't want to say to much about Gabe and ruin the story for anyone. There are so many twists and surprises in the story. It was a fantastic paranormal book. Sweet, romantic and bittersweet. Loved the ending. Reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock

Whispers in eternity is an interesting read. It follows Noelle, a young runner who has to change her life after a heart transplant. Recovering at her Aunt's house, she meets and falls in love with a young man who turns out to be a ghost.

Whispers was quick to read with a relateable main character. Her reactions to the discovery of a previously unknown heart condition were especially honest. I also enjoyed that the writer actually took the time to show Noelle in the hospital before and after the op. I thought the relationship between Noelle and Gavin was quite beautiful, touching as it did on the complications of loving someone dead. In addition, I thought her actual friendships were well drawn and meaningful.

If I had any complaints, it would be regarding the character's ditching of her old life so quickly and the coincidence of her having the heart of the ghost boyfriend. Another minor complaint is down to the passage of time. Months, even years, pass in this book and while it's not badly written, it really hurts the ending.

But all in all, a really good read that I can certainly recommend

In Whispers in Eternity, Noelle always dreamed of going to college on a scholarship thanks to her running on her high school’s track team and being successful at it. But when she collapses while running one day, doctors warn her that she can no longer run onthe track team, and now she’s in the hospital waiting for a heart transplant, forced to give up her dream. After the transplant, she finds a new passion, singing, and then she meets Gavin. He’s everything she’s ever wanted…Only problem? He’s dead.

Noelle is an amazing character with a strength and intelligence far beyond her years. One can’t help but cheer for her as she faces every challenge head on, and ends up stronger than before. She and Gavin make a good couple. They’re both sweet and caring and would do anything for each other. The characters are believable, and even the ghost story doesn’t seem far-fetched.

If you enjoy sweet YA paranormal romance, then I would recommend this book.

The Absolute Best Book That I Have Ever Read !!!!

I am truly in Love with this book, The characters are amazing. It deals with
a beautiful teenager dealing with issues that no one should have to worry about. Friendships that last no matter what happens happens within their inner circle. A parent's struggle to help their child deal with heart wrenching
decisions that could make or break them. If you are searching for a book that will reach in and touch your heart don't look any farther than this wonderful
book. I was gifted a copy of this book from the Author and it has gone to the
top of my favorites list. It is one that I will go back to when I am feeling lost.
It gave me hope and the belief that no matter what there is a rainbow just over the hill and all we have to do is go over and grab it for ourselves.

I truly loved this book. It was ridiculous and endearing and all the right amounts of perfect.
Sure, the start felt a little plain, occasionally predictable, and the ending has a scene I could do without, but it was such a sweet and moving read that I just didn’t care.
The book centralises around some heavy topics but manages to craft a dignified journey throughout. Noelle and Gavin navigate an unimaginably haunting romance (sorry, couldn’t resist) interspersed with a teenage life that has been forced to become anything but regular.
Whispers in Eternity was just beautiful and I wish I could read it again for the first time.

I've read every book this author has written and, though I'm a fan of the Indigo trilogy and love the characters, THIS story blew them out of the water.
The characters were well-developed, had depth, and made me love them. The story was everything I've come to expect from this writer, but more. I felt the author really spread her wings with this book and soared. I hope she'll continue to write stories that include a few of my favorite characters from her trilogy. It's nice to get to know them better, and in a different setting. I can't wait to read next one!

Noelle is only in high school when she finds out she has a thickening of the heart muscle. She has to give up her passion as a runner and eventually needs a heart transplant. When she meets Gabe she has no idea how closely they are connected. A story of love and soulmates.
