When horticulturalist and society matron Marguerite Claymore is found bludgeoned to death in her own backyard, and the killing is linked to a series of unsolved robberies, savvy octogenarian sleuth Harriet Bushrow and her friends set out to find the killer terrorizing the quiet town of Borderville, Tennessee.
When the local grande dame is murdered, the local postman gets on the case. Told in shifting perspectives, that doesn't quite work. It felt like the author was trying to work his way out of writer's block.
I love this series. I bought and read the first ones years ago and finally found and read the last one. The author's son finished the book after his dad died and it was wonderful with the addition of the son's computer knowledge. I am now at the age of or older than most of the characters.
