I enjoyed this book. It was a fun read. The variety of animals Ollie meets is great for the story and for the age group.


Spoiler: This is a delightful story about Ollie the Elephant who wants a baby brother for this birthday. When that doesn't happen, he puts on his roller skates in search of a baby brother. He meets many animals, some who welcome him into their family, some do not. He misses home and on his way back, breaks his leg. His parents were so worried about him! After he gets home, his mother tells him that he will get a sibling, just not yet.

why is fatshaming such an integral part in almost every kids book😭 tbf it was addressed, that the animal that said it was being rude, but imo there wasn’t a reason to add the entire scene because it wasn’t addressed properly and very briefly only

other than that i think it’s also a bit 🥴, that he just runs away and his parents don’t really bother🥲

This is about an elephant who wanted a baby brother. His birthday came and he was expecting a baby elephant to play with. His mother told him she bought him a toy and he should play with it. Elephant was unhappy so he travelled to see if he could get a baby from the other animals. He went around to the stork, cat, and other animals and they told him that they love their children and were not giving them away. He finally made it back home and his parents decided to have more children.
