Wanted in Canada on 18 counts of money-laundering, fraud, and theft, Albert Walker first dropped from sight in 1990. A financial advisor at the time, he disappeared amid accusations that he stole $3.5 million from investors in his Woodstock, Ontario firm. In England, he is accused of killing Ronald Plat, the man whose identity Walker had assumed.
Sought by the Ontario Provincial Police, Walker was also wanted by the U.S. Marshal's office and was the fourth person on Interpol's most wanted list.
This is the true story of Albert Walker's quest for lust, money, and a new identity, and how he was finally caught and brought to trial.
A very well-written book about the crimes of Albert Walker but also respecting the privacy on who fathered Sheena Walker’s children. A hometown murder.
This book was selected as one of two in English in the local bookstore. Entertaining, like TV is, or filling - like junk food.
p. 278 "...the last witches to be executed in England". This has nothing at all to do with the story - but hey, they weren't witches in the executable sense; perhaps the use of quotation marks around "witches", or comment clarifying would have been appropriate - i.e. "women healers hanged as witches" or some such. Bugged the crap out of me as a woman healer and wannabe witch.
