After the last two action packed stories, Mummy's Mask slows things down to focus on the setting and characters. With the threat of Necropolis stopped for now, our heroes revel in their victory as they try to uncover the secrets of the Forgotten Pharoh. Shifting Sands really dives into the Egyptian fantasy lore as we get to learn more about Wati's history, a secret cult, and the threat of the mysterious mask. There's quite a few humorous moments; with some somber moments between characters also. This was a fun middle entry in this series, that sets up the rest of the storylines nicely.

This has been my favorite part of the story so far, leaves on a solid cliff hanger for the next book and has set up a lot of great mysteries.
