A charming picture book about two lovable new characters who are the very best of friends.

Praise for MR BEAR

FOUR StARS
LIttLE ANGELS
'Along with the book's pleasingly simple illustrations and colour scheme, there are some big words sure to spark your tot's curiosity - so it's not a bad idea to do a quick read-up on clouds before you begin!'
PRACtICAL PARENtING
'For those who love WINNIE tHE POO and PEtER RABBIt, this charming picture book by terri Rose Baynton is perfect for bedtime stories'
HOME IDEAS
'terri Rose Baynton has revealed her own distinctive style in this, her first picture book. It is very reminiscent of the very early picture books with its sepia toned background, black pen outlines and restricted palette of just red and shades of brown for some fill-in. the text font is unconventional yet complements the whimiscal theme of dreams, coupled with a sense of enduring friendship between these two disparate characters.'

Mr Bear Branches feels badly after using science to deflate his friend's dreams of sitting in the clouds. A surprisingly delightful story about friendship and repair, science, and - above all else - making space for our dreams.

What a sweet (and totally bizarre) little book.

Lovely little piece of literature. Excellent vocabulary for a kids book compared to some modern fluff that is around now. My boys really enjoyed the story and learning about clouds.

A delightful picture book - an admirable first offering from NZ author illustrator Terri Rose Baynton. It speaks gently of how true friends are sensitive to the needs of their friends and willing to "go the extra mile" simply to make their friend happy. The language was beautiful - lyrical carrying the simple story line effortlessly. The illustrations were beautifully simple yet expressive line drawings, highlighted with a soft creme and red colour palette which reinforces the gentle storyline. Couldn't help but be reminded just a little of "Happy Birthday Moon" by Frank Asch. Congratulations Terri. I look forward to your next one.

In a style reminiscent of Winnie the Pooh (A.A Milne style, not Disney), Terri Rose Baynton has written and illustrated a gorgeous picture book for ages four and up.
