It's the most helpful book I've read on this topic so far.

Even though I’m already knowledgeable about Wordpress and websites, I read this book when considering adding a blog to my creative list. This book gives you not only a description of the various web platforms, but good visual examples of a website created with each platform and pros/cons for each. A great intro to creating a website and overview of things you need to consider for your site.

The only drawback to is for a more detailed explanation of some of the platforms’ functions and themes you’d need to do additional research. This book will serve you well as a starting point overall and I would recommend it to new users!

In my research for building a website for my business it became very confusing and overwhelming.
Do I pay someone to build it or do I go to a website builder that has easy templates? What are the pros & cons of using these website builders? Which one do I go with? Square Space, Go Daddy, Wix, Word Press, and many others. How do I get and file my domain name? What website builder plan fits my bussiness needs?
All of these questions are answered in this book and much more. The focus of this book is "the easy way" with very easy to understand instruction along with pictures and diagrams along with websites for references.

Excellent!

This book is absolutely packed with information and organized in a very cohesive way.
The tools a resources collated alone will save any reader tons of time and research and gives a solid base to jump from.

I'll definitely read her other books.

Only thing missing would be perhaps a diagram showing how all the different parts of the book tie together. But I'm a visual learner so it's probably not a big deal.

Highly recommend this book as an overview that gives the reader solid places to start and explore as they progress through each topic laid out.

Informative, quick, easy to read "how to" guide book on creating websites, blogs, etc. Looking for inspiration and ideas for The Beer Thrillers ( https://thebeerthrillers.home.blog/ ) blog.

Some good information, pretty thorough. Disappointed to find out that her website that she references a few times near the end of the book doesn't really work. (Doesn't give you much confidence in her then huh? And doesn't help when you were looking to the site for resources too.)

Basic overview of the major web design programs, features, positives and negatives of each platform, and loaded with resources to help a new web designer get started. It was pretty basic for me with wix and Front Page experience already, but I still learned a few valuable things and have a lot of new resources to check out.

i thought it was a really good book. It helped me to decide if creating my own website was the way to go or if etsy or one of those sites was the best option. I went with my own site and this book taught me how to do it. I'm proud to say that my website is up and running and I'm now working on the ecommerce side of the website.

This was a pretty good overview and had a few details and tricks that are useful. I haven't checked to see if all of the links are still working and it doesn't mention recent social media. One thing that did bug me was there was a number of editing errors, including whole words that were missing. This happened a lot, at least once a chapter, but often more.

Just skimmed part of it. Checked it out when the tweens had aspirations of becoming YouTube/TikTok stars and showed them that there are ways to convert talent into cash without creating embarrassing videos of themselves.

Very helpful in setting up a website and getting a domain name. Although I initially got the book through the Library I decided I needed to own it and have bought the book. High praise.

I am very web- and computer-savvy, but I still learned a few new tricks from this book. It's well-designed and well-organized, especially for such a small book. I would recommend it for a beginner as an overall reference, or an intermediate user who is looking for ideas they may have missed.
