Rate this book
Roan Diamond’s loyalty to the family may be obligated by blood, but nobody ever said he had to love them all, right?
As the next in line to head the Diamond dynasty, he has loose ends to take care of, and one of those is his brother Royal. Yet his plans for revenge fall apart the minute he lays eyes on Alina—Royal’s ex-girlfriend, who also happens to be the daughter of the rival Solokov family.
As a mafia princess, Alina Solokov knew it wouldn’t be easy when she made the decision ten years ago to leave the family for a new life at a college in England—but betrayal is often a dish served cold by those who you love the most. Now, back in the United States after a job offer that she couldn’t refuse, her new found strength is pushed to the limits when Royal returns to claim her for his own.
When the man who captures her heart amongst the chaos is front and center in a lifestyle she swore never to return to, can she hold her ground and fight being sucked back into the black hole that is the mafia underworld? Or will Roan’s love be worth the ultimate sacrifice?

The Redemption of Roan (The Syndicate Series, Book 2) is where we fall head over heels in love with Roan Diamond, Calla’s cousin from The Wrath of Cain. Roan is hot for Alina Solokov, the daughter of the Solokov Family and his brother, Royal’s former girlfriend.

I love mafia books, especially well written ones. Kathy Coopmans has done a spectacular job of weaving a world of intrigue, mystery, hot men, danger and sex to keep me on my toes and interested. The dark and dangerous underworld of The Syndicate is exactly that—dark and dangerous. On the surface things don’t appear to be much out of the ordinary. But, the more you dig, the more you find—unless it comes to Royal Diamond, the brother of Roan Diamond. He’s scary, in the most awful of ways. He’s a torturer and a killer. And not of just those who deserve it, any and all who step in his path. He’s an enigma, a ghost who comes and goes as he wants but is never to be found.

Roan is just HOT. Can I say that again, F’ING HOT! I went there, I’d climb him like a tree! Alina is a sprite in my book, tiny and powerful in her own right. She has brothers who take care of her, but really, she’s determined to take care of herself. Falling in love with Roan is the last thing she wants to do. But in the land of romance, love may not come easily and without a bit of death and dying, but it comes! And when it does, oh how sweet it is! Wait, it’s oh, how SEXY it is. Yes, that’s it! White Hot Sex. Blow up your skirt or drop your panties amazeballs!

Should you read it? Absolutely!

Probably more like 3.5 stars but... this one is a lot better than the first!

I was wary in reading this book, because I honestly thought the first one was kind of a clusterfuck. This book was getting pretty good ratings though, so I decided to give it a go.

Roan, the brother of Royal who we meet in the first book (evil dude), wants to be with Alina. Alina is the daughter of the Russian mafia boss (aka the enemy). Alina used to be with Royal. So Roan's intentions when he first meets Alina (prior to the beginning of this book) is not completely altruistic. Roan believes he can find the bad guy, Royal, if he can get close to Alina. Alina shuns him and shuts down his request for a date.

First let me explain Alina. She is not part of the mafia, having disowned that part of her life 10 years before. Alina is still close to her brothers, but has not talked to her mother or father during that time. She hates the mafia, hates what her family does, and what it stands for. She's a doctor who gives life to others, so of course she hates the killings that happens in the family.

Roan is set to take over for his father, the boss. Roan is the mafia, just a competing family. At first Roan wants Alina because of her past connection to Royal. Now Roan wants Alina for herself. Some insta-love happens here which I really don't mind when it's done right. This whole book is centered around Roan & Alina's love and finding Royal who is starting to do bad things... again!

Now for what I didn't like...

Most of the book I enjoyed. The beginning was way too rushed though. Alina hates the mafia, but when she finally confronts Roan for following her she says yes right away to a date! She knows who he is! I get it - she's attracted to him. But honestly? She obviously doesn't have whole lot of conviction when it comes to her beliefs. THEN after one date she decides she's going to contact her parents after 10 years! It's all a little too convenient and rushed. There should have been more character development, or she should have fought Roan harder... something!

I also felt the ending was rushed. Okay... this happened... now Epilogue! Eh. I'm over it.

The sex was pretty hot. I loved how devoted Roan was to Alina. There weren't many triggers/issues that people might have: No OW/OM drama, no cheating, HEA, etc. There WAS violence (it's the mafia people) and references to rape (no details).

All in all, an enjoyable read. I do not believe I read on. I'm not convinced this author and I were meant to be even if I liked this book enough.

Rosalie's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

This book is the second in the series, but the first I had read. I had no issues reading this as a standalone. There were flashbacks to book 1 that brought a little insight, but weren't imperative for the plot in Redemption of Roan.

Roan's family is mafia royalty. The mortal enemy is the Solokovs. These two would do anything to just completely wipe out the other family. Until along comes the oldest brother, Royal, who falls in love with the Solokov's only daughter, the mafia princess, Alina. He is brought into the family as a Solokov and loved as thus. However, the relationship does not end as all had planned....

Wanting to find his brother, Roan Diamond knows the way to do this is through Alina. However, the more he stalks, the more he finds that he loves. He wants her, dreams about her, has to have her. But how does he go about this, knowing they are enemies?

This book had me on the edge of my seat throughout. I've never read a mafia book, and this one was intense to say the least. The love and romance throughout though made this read one I didn't want to put down. I loved seeing someone as "mean" as Roan fall and fall hard. This is definitely one you don't want to miss!

“That one word–spark, the beginning to a fire, a storm brewing, a desirable connection between two people..”

What a great addition to the Syndicate series. The Redemption of Roan is told from dual points of view and is Roan and Alina’s story.

Roan is the next in line to take over the family business, but before he can do that, he’s got one last, but very important loose end to tie up; he’s got to get revenge on his brother Royal. Sounds easy enough, right? It was a simple idea until he set eyes on Alina. Once he saw Alina, he knew that there was no way he could continue on with plan. He found himself impossibly drawn to Alina and was thirsting for a chance to get to know her…..Alina may be a mafia princess by title, but wants nothing to do with the life. She wants to help and heal people, not hurt them. She’s finally returned home after many years abroad, hoping to get a fresh start, but she will be pushed to the limits, when Royal returns to her life. There are things about her past that no one knows about. See Royal has hurt Alina in the worst way possible. And now, Alina has found herself an unlikely and unexpected ally that will finally get her some justice from the pain Royal has inflicted. The last thing Alina was prepared for, was to fall for Roan, Royal’s brother. Terrified of what she is getting herself into, Alina will quickly learn that Roan is nothing like his brother. He wants to worship and protect Alina, no matter the cost. And when Royal comes back and begins to bring havoc and chaos into their lives, they will find themselves tested in ways they didn’t think was possible…..

The Redemption of Roan was a really great read. It was dark and intense and sexy. I was captivated by Roan from the moment I met him. I wanted to know more about him and loved his alpha personality. I loved how he was with Alina. At first, he wanted to use her to get to his brother, but then when he saw her for the first time, he knew that using her would be an impossibility. There was no way he could hurt her. In fact, he found himself needing her and wanting to protect her. I loved Alina and how strong her character was. She went through a very tough and intense experience and kept it to herself. She somehow managed to put it behind her, survive and create a life for herself. She had some reservations about Roan in the beginning, but I gotta tell you, I was so happy that she gave him a chance. The two them had some amazing chemistry and I just couldn’t wait to see where their story would go.

The Redemption of Roan is fast paced and will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat, wondering what will happen next. The story-line and the characters are so intriguing. You’ll find yourself desperate to know more about the characters and their stories. Yes, this story is dark and pretty intense. It does deal with some serious and at times intense subject matter, but it was handled in a very respectful way. That being said, this story is not just a dark tale, it does have plenty of romance, sexy good times and swoon worthy moments. I enjoyed everything about this story from start to finish and as this story wraps up, we were given a little taste of what to expect when the next book comes out, and I gotta tell you, I can’t wait to see where the next story will go!

5 Stars!

This author completely rocks. Each book I have read by her has been amazing and completely captivated me. But this book right here might just be her best to date. This author gave us suspense, the mafia, some steam, and one alpha male who will make you swoon hard. This book does end on a cliffhanger but it is more a storyline one with a softer landing but I am pins and needles for the next!

I loved this book... every piece, every part of this book. This book was gritty, suspenseful, sexy, intense, passionate, edgy, and completely hot. This book will have you on the edge of your seat until the very end and then you will be stalking the author... begging for more. This was a book that has stuck with me since I read a few weeks ago and definitely a top read of this year, 2015, for me.

This is Roan and Alina's story. Roan has a new obsession and she comes in the form of the most beautiful and alluring woman he has ever... met. Her name is Aline. Since he laid eyes on her, he has wanted her and now he is ready to stake him claim. He doesn't care about her family an who they are. He doesn't care that it might not be the right time. He wants Alina and what Roan wants... Roan gets. Now he just needs one chance to prove to her that he is worth the chance and high risk.

Alina is so different from her family it is not even funny. She hasn't seen them in years since something tragic happened to her. Seeing the brother of the man she fears and hates is not something she should want. But Roan is beautiful. She knows he watches her. She knows he wants something from her. And when she gets bold one night and approaches him, all bets are off. Roan has made it clear he wants Alina and for her, she wants him too no matter how much she wants to deny it.

There is danger everywhere and these two being together could be the best or worst idea ever. Roan knows Alina is worth the risk. And when he proves himself to her over and over, they begin a love affair like no other. But it is not going to be easy. Danger is lurking around the corner. Someone is out to get them and take their men down. The challenges they face will be tough. Alina is gong to have to show her strength to not be broken? Can they survive the storm and find their forever?

And the last sentence in this book.... SAY WHAT??!!

I highly recommend this book and series.

“His eyes darken. ‘My god, look at you. The mere sight of you on this washing machine with your perfect breasts bouncing, those n@pples begging for either my hands or my mouth, has me straining against my own resistance, Alina. You are perfect. A vision I will never erase.’”

5 Roan is sexy as f@ck stars!! Wow, I thought I loved Cain, but I was wrong…..Roan give Cain a run for his money is this lust filled book!

Roan has lusted after Alina from afar for a while. The problem? She belonged to someone else, that someone being Royal. But Alina abruptly packs up and leaves for England, she never tells anyone why, she just leaves. Once she’s done with school, she returns still not letting anyone know what happend and why she’s left. In walks Roan, her knight in shining armor….he saw an opening and he swoops in. She confides her secret to Roan and when he finds out why she left, he vows not to tell anyone even though he’s furious. Will he keep his promise to her or will the secret eat away at him threatening everything he has with Alina?

Ugh, this book….where do I even start?? It’s beautiful and heartbreaking, when you find out what Alina has been through. You root for Roan and Alina, because he loves her so much. Their relationship is explosive, sexy and hot. Three things I love in a book!! This series is so exciting, and I’m a huge fan!

The series continue with Roan. His story is a little more intense than Cain's. I love that it's more action packed! Roan is a big ol' teddy bear! Alina brings out the best in Roan. They really compliment each other as couples goes.

As I read this book, my heart raced. OMG I literally couldn't put it down. There's so much that is going on I was scared if I put the book down I'd miss something! Granted, I know I could set the book down. However, I couldn't and didn't want too! And neither will you!

Roan is seriously hot! Alina is bad a$$. She surprised me. I thought I wouldn't like her but I really did.

I love the fact my man, Cain, and Calla were in the book! I mean they have to be! LOL! Be seriously, I'm glad we get to see more of them with Roan and Alina.

The Redemption of Roan, Kathy Coopmans a new to me author I had the pleasure of reading and reviewing this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I was at a wee bit of lost as I didn’t read the book before this, but was able to put it together enough that this story flowed well.

Who doesn’t love bad boy with good girls? Whispers and this good girl belongs to someone else.

Lets talk secrets, something so intense that it causes Alina to leave without a where, why or any kind of explanation. She comes back from learning to deal or cope and runs into ahh Mr. sexy dripping hot male Roan.

They are a comfort to each other enough, where secrets are revealed. This isn’t a magical book but fate still seems to rear its nosy head. What is meant to be..and all that...

Storyline and characters just mesh well, full of personality and the story full of action and suspense. Alina and Roan just fits and oh the fit well in the smoking hot scenes. Get it get it!

Easy to read and follow, intriguing and keeps you fliping the pages. Enjoyed and recommended.

4 Redemption of Roan Stars

I defiantly like this book better than the first, only because I was a fan of Roan in the first book so much I was glad he got his own.

I am going to say it…. Alina isn't my favorite female character, I liked her I just wasn't her biggest fan but hey Roan wanted her and that’s all the really matters right.

These two really were right for each other, I think what I was leery of with her was about half way through she became a little weak. Think she needed to be the one to save everyone.. Yeah no. Roan is the one that needed to take his brother down.

Would def. recommend this series though the love and fight these characters have for each other leap of the page or in to your heart like no others.

Again the narration was just ok for me, she didn't take away from the story at all just wouldn't have been my first choice.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

What an awesome read! Roan is freaking sexy hot and he wants Alina! But she's his families enemies daughter! It starts out as wanting to use her in his plan to bring his mental brother out of hiding and turned into an obsession! One that he couldn't get enough of!
Alina knows that Roan has been following her for weeks, but what she doesn't know or understand is why! She wants nothing at all to do with his family, especially since she has had enough of one of them to last her a lifetime of scary as all heck dreams!
Can Roan convince Alina to give him a chance or does his crazy brother Royal make it to them both before it all ends before it begins?
Amazing read!

I knew after reading The Wrath of Cain, I had to read this book. I couldn't wait to find out more about Roan. I was so excited and the author did not disappoint! This story was suspenseful and action packed and the hero was swoonworthy. I can't even begin to tell you how sexy Roan is. I loved this story and can't wait to see what's next in this series.

Just WOW!!! I hate beginning my reviews like this, but that’s the only thing I can come up with! What an emotional and thrilling ride! I haven’t read many “mafia” type books, and I’m not usually a huge fan of men who are as violent as Roan, but he could really bring me over to the dark side!

Roan has plans to take his father’s place in the “family” business, but first he has to tend to some unfinished business, “taking care” of his psychotic, drug-addicted brother, Royal. The problem is he has no idea where he is. He thinks the key to his whereabouts is the beautiful Alina, Royal’s ex. Alina wants nothing to do with the life Roan leads as she fled to make a life away from her family which happens to be a rival family of Roan’s. Without giving too much away, these two people who want two different things end up falling for each other, but as with all good, romantic thrillers, danger will be lurking right around the corner threatening not only their newfound love but their very lives.

Roan was such a contradiction…an extremely violent man who happens to have a loyal and loving side that he only shows to those he cares about. He thinks the only thing that will pose a danger to him and finally take him out is falling in love…not getting killed because of his job! Of course, Alina forces him to re-think that idea, and what a joy that was to watch! Such a petite woman bringing a big, sexy Roan to his knees, priceless!!! Alina, herself, is also a contradiction. She has been damaged and has survived a horrific ordeal that not many could. She left her family, survived, and made a good life for herself even though she doesn’t have a man to share it with. She doesn’t really want a man to share it with either, of course, until irresistible Roan enters the scene. She left her family because of the violence, yet she loves them and is fiercely loyal to them. Together these two might not just find love but also redemption which made the title of this book perfect.

Now, as much as I loved the characters, I loved the story just as much. It was heart-pounding, and at times, downright scary and disturbing, but also sexy as he$$. Roan’s thoughts of Alina were just as panty melting as the actual deed. While the sex and steam were great, the twists and turns were just as good. I didn’t know what was going to happen next. I just know it kept me turning the pages until I was done.

I highly recommend reading this one today. Kathy Coopmans did a phenomenal job of giving her readers a sexy romantic thriller. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!!!

Roan, Roan, Roan…sigh…Roan, Roan, Roan…

I wasn’t sure how Kathy Coopmans was going to up the bar from The Wrath of Cain but somehow she did. She exceeded every expectation I had. Roan was a sweet side character in the first book but man, in this book he grew into an amazing character. He was just … he was just so everything. He was strong, sexy, hot, sensitive, loving, protective…I could go on and on but you’ll get it once you read the book. Now, aside from Roan being everything, the storyline was amazing! It’s a fast paced, action packed read that will leave you on the edge of your seat. I did not want to put this book down. I read it in a day. I made excuses to the family because I just had to finish this book and then when it was over…ugh, major book hangover. So now I am looking forward to Deidre’s story… sorry book 3 but you have some rather BIG shoes to fill!

What starts out as wanting to use Alina to lure his brother back soon turns into Roan wanting to protect her. So he watches her and keeps an eye on her. Alina has been through hell and back all because of her relationship with Royal (Roan’s brother). She belongs to Roan’s enemy’s family. A family she wants nothing to do with. All she does is work and spends time with her best friend Deidre. She becomes aware that Roan has been following her and she confronts him and ends up shocking them both when she finally agrees to go out on a date with him. The chemistry between Roan and Alina is HOT! Their connection is intense. I loved these two characters together. They made sense together. I’m not going to give you a full report on what happens in the book, just know that this book has sooo much more action than book 1 and I didn’t think that could be possible. It wasn’t over the top done. It flowed and made perfect sense.

I cannot say enough great things about this book. It’s simply wonderful. It has moved into my top 5 favorites list.

I really liked this book and yes that surprised me since I wasn't going to continue the series after reading Cain because Cain was a total tool, but Roan? He was nearly swoon worthy. I still don't know why I continued this series but I am really glad I did.

4.5 Stars for Roan. He is the polar opposite of Cain (thankfully), he was honest, romantic (cherry donuts), sweet and sexy but was still a bad ass being groomed for his dad's empire. He respects Alina and proves it when he decides to be honest with her about Royal and what his plan was for her. I have to respect that about him (and I do).

Alina is no sheltered little princess either even if she doesn't agree with her Russian family business, she showed little weakness. Sexually she was a bit bolder then I expected but she was nearly 30 and knew how to work the "toy" so I chalked that up to years of sexual frustration ~ actually I look past it.

Here is where my actual 3 star comes from. I like the story, it was so much better then book 1, but the story is choppy and the author has a problem bridging between scenes....usually all this is minor (such as the grammar or spelling errors, these I can overlook as long as they are minor) but this author led you from one scene to the next without breaking...new PARAGRAPH please Ms. Coopmanns, show me that there is an end to a conversation BEFORE moving on to the next scene (there were a few times I thought I was lost)...maybe bad formatting? Who knows for sure. I also think the author has the thoughts in her head but when written on paper she doesn't completely convey them and therefore the scene may make sense to her but they leave this reader a little confused and without the flow the story is less enjoyable.

With all of this will I stop the series? Hell no...on to Aiden now...

Ever since I read my first book by Kathy Coopmans I knew she was a great author and she has proven herself again in The Redemption of Roan. You need to start at the beginning and read The Wrath of Cain first. To see how the story began with Roan and his family.

Roan Diamond is one Hot Alpha male with plans to take his father's place in the "family" business. Before he can completely takeover for his father. He has some unfinished business with his demented, drug-addicted brother Royal Diamond. He has one way to find his brother. That's through his brother's ex girlfriend Alina Solokov. What he didn't plan on was being attracted to Alina.

Alina Solokov, know as the mafia princess, is very different from the rest of her family members because she doesn't like the violence. She hasn't seen her family in 10 years, since she went away to college. Seeing the brother of the man that gives you nightmares is something that you shouldn't want but Roan is beautiful. She know he has been following her and he wants something from her. One night she gets brave enoungh to ask Roan why he keeps following her?

Can Roan and Alina have relationship? Will Royal come out of hiding and let Roan & Alina have relationship? Will Royal hurt anyone else before Roan catches him? Read the story to find out.

Roan and Alina have sparks flying off the page from the very first time the meet. The chemistry just keeps building between them til the very end of the book. Kathy has brought in some of the same characters from The Wrath of Cain and some new ones that I hope will get their own story. Thank you Kathy for another great book.

I'm a huge fan of mafia books but I was so glad to read this one. This is a different take on the mafia, neither one of the characters really want the life. Roan, is in line to become the new boss but honestly I don't if he'll take it or not. He does have the protective, take no charge side to him but he also has this sweet romantic side as well. I really fell in love with him while reading this. He was out to prove to Alina that he was nothing like his brother. Oh his brother.... what words can I use? Oh i know some..crazy, psychotic, murderer, rapist and has no fear when it comes to anything. He is a man who is not to be messed with. To bad Alina did and got burned bad from him. She is very standoffish when it comes to men. I have mad respect for Alina, the only girl with a dad who's a mob boss, she should have been one of those spoiled mob princesses but instead she left home to prove herself. She is now a doctor and has proven herself very well. She wants nothing to do with that that life but still loves her family. She is attractive to Roan but is fearful he is like his brother. He proves time and time again to her that they are complete opposites. Alina soon finds out how incredible Roan is and falls in love. She has a man who is incredibly protective and has the respect of her family. His only focus is her and keeping the family safe. He is out for revenge after his brother starts his craziness. This book has so many sweet moments but it also has the graphic mafia part. This was definitely a favorite book for me. You can read this book without even reading the first book cause I did.

If you loved The Wrath of Cain, you won't want to miss Roan's story! Mafia stories are not really my favorite, but love Kathy's books so I gave The Wrath of Cain a try and loved it. The Redemption of Roan is no different. Roan is just as hot, broody and alpha male. Alina is the daughter of the Russian mob boss that is an enemy of Roan's family. Royal, who we met towards the end of The Wrath of Cain, did some not so nice things to Alina, Solokovs daughter. She has no deisre to be apart of the mafia and keeps as far away from it as possible. Knowing that Alina was the only one to really capture Royal's attention, he decides to use her as bait to lure him out of hiding. Through it all is Alina and Roan's love story. Unlike Cain's book, this one is mostly focused on the act of revenge while Alina and Roan work through their feelings for one another. I usually have a hard time staying in the book with mafia stories but this series is so well written and descriptive with the right amount of suspense and romance that I couldn't put it down! You won't want to miss what happens. You find out: all about Alina and Roan's past, about Royal, more insight into the mafia world, Cain makes a small appearance, and you find out whether revenge was to be had or not. 1-click this amazing read today!

The Redemption of Roan by Kathy Coopmans is the second book in her new series The Syndicate. In Cain and Calla's story in book one, The Wrath of Cain, we met Roan and, personally, I couldn't wait for his story. It is now a couple of years past the events that took place in book one and this is Roan's story. Roan Diamond and Alina Solokov. Both are children of mafia families. They shouldn't work...

But they do. It takes a while for Roan to be able to fully work his charm on Alina but the spark between them ignites and the story takes off. Prepare yourself. It is intense and gritty. Royal, the hated brother EVERYONE is out to kill is a vindictive and manipulative man with no soul and stops at nothing to exact his revenge on those he thinks have done him wrong.

Can't wait to read more and I hope Deidre's story is next.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, betrayal, suspense, secrets, lies, twists & turns, and heartbreak. This story ends on a cliffy but not a relationship one.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
The Wrath of Cain (The Syndicate, #1)

This is Alina and Roan’s story. Roan wanted Alina from afar but she belonged to someone else. That is until one day she up and left. Now she has finished school and is back. He wants to understand why she left. When they become a couple and she finally tells him why she left he is furious. Can he keep her secret? Or will that secret be the downfall of the relationship? Will he be able to hold all the anger in or will it destroy him slowly? Is blood thicker than water? What happens when the secrets and lies finally come to light? Will they still have a love to fight for or will even that be destroyed?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

Roan, Roan, Roan, how I loved thee in Cain's book but now I've fallen head over heels!

Roan has fallen for Alina and unsurprisingly, Alina falls for Roan (unsurprisingly as Roan is drool worthy)! Both have a history, brother and lover, of Royal, the guy who took Calla and Roan in book 1.

'Stole my heart right out from inside of me. We need each other. It's a need that's bone deep'... and that line there is what had me on the edge of my sofa clutching my kindle.

2 families unite together but when will they find that horrid Royal.....or when will he strike? Suspense city! I was waiting for him to make his move in every chapter!

And strike he does. It's war.

This book is a fantastic read, full of suspense, a strong woman, some HOT sexy times scenes and I can safely say I'll never look at a washing machine the same way!

Beamer and Dierdre is going to be explosive and I, for one, cannot wait!

After Wrath of Cain I was unsure of how this author was going to make this series any better. Cain was one sexy man and so devoted to Calla.

Now we have Roan. His devotion ran deep for Alina before they ever spoke to each other. Alina was once Royal's girlfriend. That was until she left abruptly for England. She never told anyone why, she just left. After she finished school she returned. Still not telling anyone why she left. That is until her and Roan became a couple.

When Roan finds out just why Alina left so quickly he's sure not to show Alina just how angry he is. He promised not tell anyone. Only he broke that promise.

They say blood is runs thicker than water. If you can't depend on your family who can you depend on? Where does that actually leave Roan then? Warning his brother that two families are after him or does love win in the end?

Ok, I've sat on it and I do believe that this deserves a 4 Crazy Ass Star rating.

I wasn't thrilled with the Wrath of Cain and had a hard time rating it. I honestly didn't think I would continue this series but being a Kathy Coopmans fan, I felt it warranted a second chance. I'm glad I did because I had no huge problems with the Redemption of Roan. The storyline flowed and was cohesive. At no time did I feel the story was rushed or lagged.
The big build up in the story concluded with a bang. I felt the situation was resolved.
Roan and Alina were HOT. Yes, Roan has made my BBF list.
I'm so glad I gave this series a second chance. Kathy Coopmans still has a loyal fan in me. It wasn't just a Redemption of Roan, it was the Redemption of Kathy.
I'm excited and can't wait for The Absolution of Aidan.

Way more action, suspense and plenty of passion. Alina and Roan had a very intense and fast paced romance with all kinds of crazy from Roan's brother getting in the way.

On to Aiden's story.

***I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are 100% my own.***

We met Roan in Wrath of Cain, he’s Calla’s cousin and the son, and underboss of the Diamond family. When we last saw him, he was out to find and use Alina Solokov to lure his brother, Royal, out of hiding. Because Royal was a very bad man and he was bad for business. But Alina was beautiful, and she was a good person. And Roan recognized good and beautiful when he saw it. Alina was the only daughter of seven children of the Solokov family, so to say she was protected was the understatement of the year. And Roan was a protector, and he was loyal. And Alina recognized a loyal and protective person.

This is their story. Roan is a hard man. He’s done and seen many things that people shouldn’t do or see. And he is loyal. Super loyal. This seems to be his calling card. If he counts you are family or friend, you can bet your bottom dollar that he’ll put his neck on the line for you. And in return, he inspires that kind of loyalty in others. I liked this dirty talking son-of-a-gun. Alina just wants to save kids. She wants to protect the innocent because she knows just how badly her family can ruin the innocent. She also fears Royal. She’s a tough cookie to crack. I liked how she challenged Roan and made him recognize her as an independent woman.

Ms. Coopmans writes an interesting story. Her characters are compelling and naughty and kind of real world in that way. I’ve read so many stories where the guy/gal is so naughty but they have super vanilla nookie. That isn’t that naughty, they just have a bad mouth. I love how we resolved one issue in this book that carried from the prior, but it opened a whole new one (albeit a seemingly happy one!) before the close of this one. It is definitely setting up the next story. So the question is, would I recommend this book? Yeah, I would. The pace is fast, and though there were moments I got confused, I believe it was nothing more than a minor editing issue. Since this was an ARC, they are completely expected. So, yes, read this book after you read Wrath of Cain…mmm, Cain…there’s a naughty man right there…

2 "If You Like Insta?.....You'll Insta Love This........d:(

First time ever.........DNF @ 64%. I really really tried. This book only had 244 pgs but after 3 1/2 days and literally forcing myself to continue, I pulled the plug. This book had INSTA EVERYTHING: insta lust, insta love, insta bodyguard, insta corny, insta cheese and my personal favorite, insa sex goddess.

Alina wants nothing to do with men, yet when Roan asks her out she can't say yes fast enough. After their first date, Roan puts one of his bodyguards on her (even though she already has one assigned by her father). By the third date both of their internal dialogues know they're falling in love with the other. Alina lost her virginity to a case of rape and since she hadn't really been with a man, she considered herself a mental and emotional virgin. So the night she gives Roan her mental v-card, and the 3rd time they have sex for the night, she basically takes control and rides him like a jockey on a champion racehorse. See? POOF! Insta sex goddess (that's a real pet peeve).

Now don't get wrong, I don't hate insta lust or insta love per se, but it has to be done right. In this case, I constantly found myself eye rolling and wishing it was the insta end. With so many 4 and 5 star reviews, I'll cry uncle and say......"Maybe it's not you, it might be me". I guess you can't will them all........d:(

I WANT, I WANT, I WANT, I WANT.

I can say it all I want because it's true. I want Roan to be my book boyfriend forever and ever because of how sweet he is.

We met Cain and fell in love with his tough boy exterior and got to see Calla break him down.

In this book, we get to see softy Roan get even more softened up by Alina. But plot twist, it is his older brother's ex-girlfriend. Eyes on her and her only, you just have to slowly fall in love with him more than you already have as he described the first encounter of her. He wants her. She wants him. But fate seems to have other plans in mind.

Especially since there were so many roadblocks, I was getting frustrated with this book.

Do you remember Royal from the first book? Yeah, I didn't like him either because he was just a kid who thought everything got handed to him on a platter. That is the one thing that I hated about this... He wanted the empire but his little brother got it instead.

Want to know why? Because Roan is the gold-hearted man. He only wants what is best for her. For his family. For everything. He puts everything before himself and that just shows that he deserved the ultimate spot on top when the other leaders went down six feet under.

I am such a fan of Kathy Coopmans because she has such a fantastic writing style that will keep you on your toes through and through. So I mean, how could I not give this a 4.7 out of 5 stars.

Blog you later, awesome book nerds.

Coming off the whirlwind that was The Wrath of Cain..... I pondered of the author was going to surpass it with Roan..... Let's just say, she set a whole new level of badassery. I'll confess to being overly curious of Roan in The Wrath of Cain. Because let's face it, he was intricate in some parts of the story. However, it pleased me to no end to have read Roan's story.

In keeping with her usual mind screw writing, Roan is tasked to do something that somehow..... He's ok with doing. The author does a great job in portraying the inner workings of Roan's mind and feelings... (Although... I wouldn't mind feeling up Roan's "feelings" myself). Roan is the newest, sexiest, book boyfriend on the block and I think that he's staying there for quite a while.

Alina, what does one day about a woman who's suffered greatly but still keeps her head up and marches forward? Only that she was one hell of a female character. Not overly bitchy and not overly weak. But she's believable. Her and Roan are a suitable duet and it's in my opinion. :

This book will likely get the author to well over top 100. With great skill the author is growing as a writer and with each book she puts forward, we the reader, are seeing it. And with that being said...... Back off ladies... Roan is my newest addition to my book man harem!
