Sometimes in life you are forced to do things you may not agree with. Family meant everything to Jude Calvert. He would do whatever it took to keep them safe and provide for them no matter what it took to make that happen. Even if that meant putting his own safety at risk, he had no other choice. Callie Raine has always felt a heavy attraction toward Jude. He was fascinating. He was undeniable. She knew there was so much more to him than he allowed anyone to see. But she was a headstrong woman and feeling weak was something she wouldn’t allow. Except when it came to Jude. However, when Jude is hit with the unexpected and forced to rely on others, Callie realizes he doesn’t take weakness easily. He becomes even more withdrawn. More angry. Will he finally give in and learn to lean on those who care? Or will he push them beyond the point of no return and once again be left to face his obstacles alone?
Jude is secretive about his life. He loves is job as a chef at Jett's restaurant but he reveals little about his life. He fights on the side to make money. There never seems to be enough money. His sister Katelynn is confined to a wheelchair after a devastating accident. She has two kids and a douchbag ex. As if that isn't enough, she has breast cancer. She's fought the good fight, but her cancer no longer responds to treatment. Jude feels it's his responsibility to take care of his family.
But there are bad guys out there who if they can't win against him in the ring, they will take him out at the first opportunity. That's how he finds himself waking up in the hospital after a severe beating at the hands of another fighter. The secrets he has been keeping private about his home life are now exposed. He didn't want his friends to know, but he especially didn't want Callie, the girl who has his heart to find out. She is the daughter of a wealthy family. But she is no diva; she works hard, asks for no special favors and has wanted Jude to open his heart up to her.
"She thinks stepping up and offering my sister and her kids help when I can't will get her closer to me. That shit ain't gonna happen."
But Jude is hard headed and stubborn. He equates the kindness and concern of his friends to charity. But his niece Zoey and his nephew Matthew fell under Callie's spell. When Jude was hospitalized, she took care of them and of Katelynn. They think of her as family and Jude is finding it hard to resist Callie.
I had wanted to keep my life and troubles isolated from everyone, especially her. The idea of Callie seeing this side of me made me feel weak, and that was something I could not allow.
Undeniable is a sweet, slightly angsty story about love and loss and responsibility. Knowing that one of the characters faces a life threatening disease I thought I would be prepared to read about her struggle. Wrong. The tears flowed. And flowed. And flowed. This is such a touching story and another great addition to the Key West series.
"You make everything brighter, Cal, and our lives wouldn't be as wonderful as they are if you weren't a part of them."
C.A Harms is one of my favourite authors, I have been dying to get my hands on this book since we first saw the attraction Jude and Callie possessed toward each other.
Jude started out this book so bloody stubborn and at times cruel, I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about him in the beginning. I ended up loving him more than any of the others, even though he had been cruel and totally closed off throughout the other stories and the beginning of this one his selflessness was what made me love him most. He put everyone above himself and his heart was in the right place even when he was being a jerk.
Callie was an amazing heroine, I have to say I’ve always had a soft spot for her but in this book she completely knocked me over. Her compassion toward Jude, Katelynn, Zoey and Matthew was a beautiful thing to witness alongside the friendship she built with them all.
I loved Zoey and Matthew, they were so adorable and their mischievous side reminded me of me and my younger brother when we were little. My heart broke for the losses they endured but their uncle Jude and Callie loved them enough for everyone.
This book completely ripped my to shreds and C.A Harms tends to do to me, she always has so much emotion in her stories that the ugly crying starts and takes forever to stop.
The Key West Series is the 3rd series by CA Harms that I’ve read from the very beginning. As much as I highly anticipated Jude’s book, I was sad to see yet another fantastic series come to an end. Talk about a bitter-sweet moment! Once I dove into Undeniable, I couldn’t stop reading. I didn’t want to either, but at the same time, I hated that the more I turned the pages, the closer “The End” got.
“Callie was my reasoning; she was my balance. Whenever she was near, things just felt like they were as they should be.”
Throughout the previous installments, we got to meet Jude. He was this mysterious character that had me incredibly intrigued. I wanted to know his story. I wanted answers to my questions. Why would he suddenly leave? Why would he show up to work with bruises? Why did he end up in the hospital?
CA Harms did NOT disappoint. Jude’s story was emotional, beautiful, and sexy all in one. The amount of heartbreak he went through in this book had me in tears more than once. Thank gosh he had Callie and the rest of the characters we’ve come to know and love. They were his support system, his family.
“Callie was changing something inside me. She was giving me something I needed, yet had no idea just how much until then. She gave me hope that even in all the impending darkness of my life, there was still good. Callie was my light.”
It wasn’t an easy start for Callie and Jude. Nope. Jude, despite WANTING TO, he would NOT let Callie in. I understood his reasons entirely, but at the same time I felt horrible for Callie. He was quite stubborn and rude at times. Yikes! But don’t you worry. While CA Harms will most likely break your heart A LOT during this book, she mends it back together by the end.
Once things started to settle down for Jude and Callie, I felt like I could breathe while reading. I was so antsy during a HUGE chunk of this book because I knew what had to happen, so I was nervous to see Jude’s reaction. Rest assured, all the heartache is worth it.
“The end. How the fuck do you prepare for something like that?”
I absolutely LOVED reading more about the other characters in this series. This was a huge plus for me. They really made everything feel whole. It was such a fantastic ending, too! It all came full circle and I, as a reader, could not have asked for more. CA Harms truly nailed it. It was quite the perfect ending to a phenomenal series that I HIGHLY recommend to everyone! FIVE STARS!
First -- I had the opportunity to read this entire series in one sitting, and I have to say: it was great. I enjoy Ms. Harms's series, and I was surprised to learn that this was a spin-off from SOUTHERN BOYS, and that Jett and Harper are the same Jett and Harper Alexis mentions in LOVING COLT. As much as I liked Alexis, Harper is quite the sass and I loved her.
Second -- of all the books, I think I liked them all fairly equal, but found the added emotion in losing a family member to be one of the driving factors for this story.
Ms. Harms does families, and she does them well. She handles death pretty well, too, and we see family in spades in this series, as well as this particular book, and we watch as Jude's sister battles cancer. Jude's ability to take on his sister and her children, without blinking an eye, made him an extremely lovable hero. As close as he was to his friends, he kept everyone a decent pace away so they didn't know his true situation -- but just as close friends and family do, they prove their care to him over and over again throughout this story.'
Jude has been drawn to Callie for quite some time, but doesn't feel he can let her in. Callie has been drawn to Jude, as well, and quite honestly, she's starting to get fed up with him. But when the opportunity arises to help out his family, she takes it -- not to be overbearing or step on his toes, but because she wants to, and in that action, her care for him is showcased in large-form.
My 'problem', if you will, with UNDENIABLE would be that Ms. Harms jumped from 'barely tolerating' to 'kissing the one time' to "I love you, baby" pretty quickly -- granted, she did utilize time jumps throughout the story, so it was easy to forget the quick jump from semi-friends, to HEA (because there really wasn't anything too much in between).
I loved that this book's epilogue catches up with all of the couples -- while we see the couples throughout this book, it was great to see their stories wrap up neatly and nicely. My favorite epilogue chunk probably belonged to Harper and the nurse... Or Easton's "she-devil" comment... Or really, just Easton and Harper. Their chunk of epilogue... Gosh, I fell in love with them all over again. The feels, man... I get them again just thinking about it!
*received a copy of the title in exchange for an honest review.
“I feel like I’m failing. Like my strength is slipping and I’m falling fast. I don’t think I can hold it together.” I stared back at her, no longer caring if I appeared to be weak. “Then fall,” she whispered. “Fall, and let me catch you. Sometimes in life you just need to let go and allow yourself to be the one that’s receiving the support. Just let it go, Jude. Please, just let it go.”
Wow!!! C.A. Harms just proved that she can definitely make her readers cry! I don't believe I stopped crying throughout this entire story. I knew Jude's story was going to be hard to read but, that didn't stop me from continuing this great series! I loved it, and I fell even more in love with Jude. The way he takes care of his family is admiring! Not many people would step up, but he has always been there for his sister, and he will always continue to make her happy. Callie has always felt an electric pull towards Jude. Eventhough, Jude has never let her or anyone else get too close, Jude needs her the most. She's there for him with no questions asked. One part I really liked was when Jude's sister gave him advice that he didn't necessarily ask for. Kate's advice is so true. Many people do not think of things in that perspective, and I'm really glad Jude had Kate to guide him into the right direction.
"Open your eyes and give life a chance. If you don’t, one day you’ll wake up and wonder where all your time went, why you let all those chances pass you by. But then it will all be too late, because life does go on, Jude, even if you don’t want it to, and those opportunities you had will be forever lost.”
I really did enjoy Undeniable! I actually...enjoyed the whole Key West Series! I loved that once again we get more from all the characters. I loved the ending! I think it was a great way to tie together everyone's lives and brings the readers up to date! I really enjoyed how close everyone is to each other, and the awesome friendships that have been created! There's nothing like friends that turn into family!
This is the first book I have read of this author and I wish I had read more and started this series from the beginning (which I will be doing once I have written this review!)
Jude Calvert is a head strong guy who provides for his family the best way he knows how – to keep everyone at arms length and let no one know of the tragedy that is unfolding in his life. He doesn’t want their charity or their pity, especially from Callie who he is determined not to admit his feelings for.
Callie Raine is a woman whose compassion and love knows no boundaries. She has been in love with Jude for years but feels her love is not reciprocated and so just plods along working at the restaurant alongside him keeping schtum.
One night Jude takes a beating and ends up in hospital in a bad way. His friends all rally round him and find out the harrowing truth of what he has been hiding from them and dealing with alone. They all step up to help Jude and his family, especially Callie, and although Jude is extremely reluctant at first, he cannot help but see the difference Callie’s presence has on his family, but is he willing to open up fully to the possibility of having Callie in his life and will Callie stand by the man she has loved forever?
This book took me on a rollercoaster ride with my emotions. The situation Jude’s family are faced with is written extremely well, and having been through something similar I applaud the author for the way she has tackled it. If you’re a stickler like me and like to read books in order then I urge you to find book one in this series, Unpredictable, and start there. Although this is a standalone book, and each one appears to be as they are focused on 2 different couples in each book, I felt I should have read the others first as the previous couples are mentioned in this book and the epilogue seems to wrap things up but this didn’t detract me from loving Jude and Callie’s story.
“I don’t want to make you nervous… I just want to make your heart race the way you do mine.”
Callie was changing something inside me. She was giving me something I needed, yet had no idea just how much until then. She gave me hope that even in all the impending darkness of my life, there was still good. Callie was my light.”
“I’ve loved you for a long time… And even if you tried to let me go, I wouldn’t let you. Because I don’t think I could live without you all in my life.”
“I’m going to be buried in dirty diapers and vomit. I can see it now. I’m going down at the hands of Easton’s spawn, and all he can do is laugh.”
“He nodded and looked back toward the doorway just three doors down that they had led Harper through. ‘She-devil,’ he whispered, and I couldn’t stop myself from laughing.”
My Review:
I had never read a C.A. Harms book before last weekend, so I needed to read the preceding 3 books in this series before starting Undeniable, oh happy day! This series has been one of the luckiest things I managed to fall into during 2015, as 4 books and 734 pages later - I am her newest fan-girl. While each book in the series is actually complete and can stand alone, don’t deny yourself the pleasure as all four books are well-written, relevant, engaging, clever, and delightfully steamy. Each volume is written with a dual POV and involves the characters from previous books, yet each provides heightened focus on the beginnings of the romance for a different couple. The characters are lovable yet flawed and struggling. I adore Ms. Harm’s growling and possessive alpha-male characters who are essentially tender hearted puppy dogs for their smart and feisty women, and each has to work a bit for their sweet love story and HEA, but so worth the time and effort.
Ahhh now in book 3, we have the fan favorite, Jude. He is the sexy, silent chef at Jetts. As a reader, I had always wondered where his bruised knuckles would come from or why he pushed everyone away from him. Now.. now we have the answers we seek. This book picks up where we were last left, when Jude was in the ER , after a fight went bad. Jude is stuck in the ER and his friends come to his aid whether he likes that help or not. Especially Callie Raines is there to provide help and she is on hand to give assistance to his family. Callie has always felt for Jude and when she is there for him, it takes this attack for Jude to realize Callie has always been there for him. Now that doesn’t mean there still isn’t a battle . Jude still has that alpha, male, pigheaded-ness going on and he fights that feeling he has for Callie. There are uphill battles fought because Jude doesn’t want to admit he loves Callie. Callie wants to keep fighting for their love but at times she isn’t sure things will work out because Jude goes two steps forward and three steps back. Callie loves Jude’s family, is willing to open her heart to all of them but Jude has to be willing to let her in. Will he or will he continue to keep her out of his heart? I loved how Jude was able to see the purity of Callie’s love and her love for them all ..Jude was once broken but her love healed them. Oh her sassy ways and independent ways was fantastic. This was such a great story and was the one book I have been waiting for . The twists and turns will keep you on your toes til the very end.
My rating: 4.8 stars **** ***A gifted copy was provided by the author for my honest review**
Jude Calvert takes care of his own. He has enough on his plate with his sister and her two small kids that he doesn't need or want anything or anyone else. He works at the restaurant with Jett and does underground fighting on the side to make a little extra money. He doesn't want help from anyone.
When a fight goes bad and Jude is stuck in the hospital his friends come to his aid, whether he likes it or not, but Callie Raines falls in love with Jude's family as much as she has been in love with Jude.
Callie Raines knows that there is more to Jude than the quiet, with drawn man he shows at work but she can't get him to crack and show this side. When tragedy strikes and Callie continues to show up to help, Jude can't keep his walls up any longer.
I absolutely LOVED Jude and Callie's story! I had been dying for Jude's story from the beginning because he was so mysterious! CA hit this one out of the park! I also absolutely LOVED the extended epilogue and seeing where everyone else ends up. Sad to see the series end but it was such a good ending!!
Jude. Our favorite silent, brooding, and yummy chef at Jetts. We knew there was a story behind his bruised knuckles and the way he worked so hard at keeping everyone away and now we finally get it!
When the last book ended I was on pins and needles desperate to know everything he'd been hiding and how long it would take before he finally realized that Callie was perfect for him if he would just stop being so stubborn.
Callie is a sweetie, but with friends like Harper and Avery you also knew there was allot of sass in there too! She cares deeply and when anyone is in need she is there.
There is allot of pig headed alpha male going on with Jude, but as the story goes on you see him open up and realizing things are better than they sometimes seem.
These two had an up hill battle at times, but overall they were just so perfect together you can't help but root for them to figure things out.
Loved every bit of the story and this series as a whole was another win for C.A. Harms!
I cried, yep I cried a lot. This book tore out my heart and then put it back together. I was moved by the way the author was able to describe heartbreak and loss with such clarity. Callie and Jude were a truly wonderful couple. I am going to miss this group of friends.
Now, while all of the books in this series could conceivably be read as standalones, I have to say that you're going to want to read them in order to get the greatest enjoyment from the series. Though not too much is said about Jude in the first three books to give you any backstory, knowing everyone else's stories made this a much more pleasurable read.
I've been curious about Jude for a while, and after the bit of a cliffhanger at the end of Uncontrollable (the third book of the series), I couldn't wait for Undeniable to come out to find out what the heck was going on!
Jude is extremely private, and is absolutely determined to be self-reliant and to take care of his family without any outside assistance. He does not want to be viewed as weak, hating when anyone tries to help-even with little things.
Callie is EXACTLY what Jude needs-whether he wants to admit it or not (even though it is plain to just about everyone else that he wants her). And she fits perfectly into his life...again, whether he wants her there or not (and oh, you know he does...he SO does).
It's wonderful seeing Jude go from his old, closed-off self to someone open to love and be loved, and to learn to accept support from his friends-who really are his family as well. The only thing about this story that felt unfinished was whatever was behind the fight that sparked Callie's insertion into his family and life. We only hear about it at the very beginning, then nothing else for the rest of the book.
But there's plenty of drama and emotion to keep your attention regardless of that, and Undeniable wound up as a 4.5-star read for me. The epilogue that wrapped up each of the couple's stories was a nice touch at the end, if a bit sappy in places. Recommended for 18+ due to adult language and sexual content.
I received an ARC of this book from Enticing Journey in exchange for an honest review and as part of the book's blog tour promotions.
I don't know how many books I've already read from C.A. Harms. I just enjoy her formula. Her main characters almost always had a tragic or sad past that has molded them into the characters they currently are. Then, they find love in unexpected places and unexpected moments, and their lives change from there.
Undeniable is a bit gritty. There's some violence, but it doesn't cross the line into becoming a dark romance. I think the main theme for this book is pride and loyalty. How far does your loyalty take you? What are you willing to give up for loyalty? For the hero, his family was everything to him. He was loyal to them. But he was also proud. He doesn't want to look weak. He would rather drive away the heroine just so she wouldn't see his weakness.
Like all other books in this series, I thoroughly liked this book. I like reading through the development of the main characters' love story. I liked the dash of suspense injected into the story. I will always follow C.A. Harms, and I will always recommend her books, especially if you're looking for a touching story about love and family.
To Jude Calvert family meant everything and hed protect them no matter what.He works at the restaurant and fights underground just to make extra money so he never has to rely on anyone else.Callie Raine had always felt an undeniable attraction to Jude he intrigues her,she knows theres so much more to him than what he lets everyone see,its safe to say shes in love with him, when Jude ends up in hospital friends rally round including Callie she falls in love with Judes family wanting to help anyway she can. When tragedy strikes Callie is determined to be there for Jude and help but will he let her in or push her away? Can he keep the wall he has built up around himself intact for much longer? Can Callie finally break through his hardened heart and make him see they belong together? This is the final book in what has been a fantastic series I have loved every book.Every book this author has written I have loved her writing draws you in,you feel you live and breathe the story along with the charcaters.Sad to see it end but look forward to what she has in store next
Undeniable by C.A Harms is the 4th book in the Key West Series. This book starts off where Uncontrollable ended. Undeniable is about Jude and Callie and the roller coaster they ride. Jude is the sole provider and caregiver of his sister with cancer and her two small children. He feels he needs to be there for them and do whatever is needed. He does not accept help from anyone not even close friends.
Callie has had feelings for Jude for a long time but he hasn't seemed to feel the same. Callie steps in when needed and helps take care of Katelynn, Zoey, and Matthew.
Callie wins over Katelynn, zoey, and Matthew's hearts and sooner or later wears down Judes. Together these two handle heartache, death, and happiness.
I laughed and cried throughout this book and I have to say it is my favorite of the series. CA Harms does not disappoint and I just love her books.
*ARC Received in Exchange for an Honest Review* **Bookaholic Confessions** 5 Undeniable Stars
Jude…Broody, moody, rude Jude. He’s hot, sexy and a complete ass. But once I realize what he’s dealing with and what he has been dealing with at home, it make total sense. He tries to keep everyone away because he does not want them to feel obligated to help him.
Callie has been crazy about Jude for a very long time. Working together at the restaurant, she experiences the mood swings and short answers Jude doles out so no one really gets to know him. As infuriating as he is, she still wants him.
Undeniable is the last book in the Key West Series by C.A.Harms and just like the other books in this series you will not be disappointed. This is Jude and Callie’s story.
There is drama and tragedy, your heart will break and you will cry, but most of all throughout this book there is love, and lots of it. This circle of friend bring love and support and are really a family.
You will fall in love with Jude and want to tell him it's all right.
When I hit the last page I didn't want it too end. This whole series has left you sighing and all warm and fuzzy.
I gave this book 5 star and wait patiently to see what adventure is next.
Wow! WOW!! I loved this even more than the last. This series keeps getting better, i don't know if its because i have developed a love for the characters over time or if the books just are getting better, but i loved it! Jude and callie's story is a heart breaking one, but my god i love them. the bond between Jude and his sister, niece and nephew is so sweet and when Callie comes into that (even though Jude made it clear he didn't want her there) the bond between them all got stronger. There is a hell of an emotional rollercoaster to go on when you dive into this book but it is well worth it by the end!! Enjoy!
BOOM!!! What a great wrap up to my favorite CA series. Jude and Callie's story really hit home for me. And it's my truly my favorite book in the series. Walls as high as the sky, Jude wouldn't let them down for anyone. He had a lot on his plate, he was handling it all on his own. He gets slammed literally in the head. With his world spiraling out of control he has to let his friends in to help. What he didn't see coming was Callie. He helped him heal, not only his wounds but his heart as well.
Author C.A.Harms is one of my go to authors but this book is my favourite of all of her books. This is because of the rollercoaster of emotions I have been on throughout it. I cried with sadness but then I cried with happiness. I laughed, I shouted at Jude to stop being an ass I felt everything the characters felt - this in my opinion makes for a wonderful book - 5 stars!!!
The conclusion to The Key West Series was bittersweet for me', because I will miss this bunch so much!! As I read Jude and Callie's story my heart broke for the pain, loss and heartache they endured. C. A. Harms writes with such passion and heart that it just pulls you in and you can't stop reading till you reach the end! I truly loved the friendship that Jude, Callie, Jett, Quinn, Easton, Harper, Kade and Avery shared through this series and I hope that we may get another book sometime down the road!! Thank you C.A. Harms for sharing this wonderful journey with us!!!
I so wanted to give this last book in the Key West series five stars, but after changing Colt’s name to Cole in this book, I just couldn’t. That wasn’t the only name error though. I can honestly say that this is my favorite book in this series though. I loved how Jude finally lets people in to help him, but I didn’t like the circumstances that brought it about. I loved catching up with all the previous couples. This is an emotional read and you will need some tissues, but it really is a wonderful story.
Well the time has come to meet the final couple in this series, and in true fashion its the one which makes you cry. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know rough and tough Jude and the secrets he had hidden.
Jude is chef and Callie is the assistant of the owner at the same restaurant. Callie has feelings for Jude but he is hidding a secret. Can Callie still have feelings once she discovers Jude's secret? Can Jude finally let Callie in?
Judes story was the one I was waiting to get to. I was not let down in the least, he's a strong willed alpha male with a squishy charming center. I loved his story, which was heartbreaking, heartwarming, and truly beautiful!
I loved this.. What made it even better was the epilogue that brought everything from all 4 books together. I loved it. Jude and Callie are perfect! Sad to see the series over but I loved it so much!!
I absolutely freaking loved this story. Jude and Callie are so good together. He is the storm clouds and she is the sun. He struggles with asking for help and she can't help giving it. The way the author ended this book with scenes from everyone was a cherry on top of the sundae.
