Lauron William de Laurence was an author and publisher on occult and spiritual topics. While his publishing company was a pioneer in the business of supplying magical and occult goods by mail order, his distribution of public domain books and accusations of plagiarizing A.E. Waite and S.L. MacGregor Mathers tarnished his reputation.

Un excelente libro y compendio de significados para iniciarse en este bonito arte. Aunque usa terminajos que, supongo, tendrán dobles o triples raíces para aquellos que están muy clavados y pueden parecer necesarios o apelar a sus sensibilidades. No creo en adivinar el futuro, pero creo en el tarot como un excelente motor creativo y una manera curiosa, enérgica, para hablar con otros, ayudarlos a descubrirse un poco o, quizás, hasta descubrir esas preguntas íntimas que a veces duele rascar, o que se ocultan muy bien en otras obsesiones. Es decir, el tarot puede ser una manera de formar vínculos y provocar búsquedas que de otro modo no surgirían. El autor se refiere a dios como la naturaleza, una cosmogonía amable para los agnósticos como yo y propone e instruye en dos tipos de lectura, una de ellas celta. También abunda en bibliografía clásica del tarot y propone algunos orígenes del mismo. Donde realmente es entretenido, es en su minucioso detalle sobre los arcanos mayores, sus significados y sus orígenes.

Veré que otros libros del tema encuentro, pero este es uno de los más básicos, se dice que es esencial en algunas búsquedas que hice.

I like the Rider-Waite Tarot, but this book gets some of the very basic and agreed-upon meanings entirely wrong. You’re supposed to study the deck, not just make up your own interpretations. Very misleading book.
