“A goal is a dream with a deadline.” --Napoleon Hill
She is mostly concerned with small business people or self improvement. She calls herself a Personal Transformation Expert but she has been on the Sterling and Stone podcast, and I saw her on video in the crowd at their recent Smarter Artist Summit in Austin 2016. So she knows her stuff can be used to inspire and motivate self published authors as well. She’s smart. I saw a podcast where she talked about how she does lectures and presentations about surviving divorce. One of her books is on this topic, so she gets speech bookings at law firms and she gets them to buy her book. They personalise it by changing the back cover to include their own firm details, and then they give a copy away to every single person who attends. Wow. That’s thinking outside the box.
Honoree is a fan of visioning, as she calls it. Decide what your goals are, write them down and then work towards them in small measurable steps. Some will be ticked off soon and others will be ‘stretch’ goals; things you have to work for. Imagine where you want to be in five years, ten years and so on and WRITE it down and write it down in detail with a date. Don’t just say you want a dream home, list all the things it will have: a huge library, a wide veranda, a garden … oh, wait… that’s MY dream house.
I just had a total ‘whoa’ moment… Honoree said to plant the seeds of what you want to grow. And I GET it. Think horrible, negative thoughts about yourself or your future, and that’s what you grow. She points out that if your affirmations (the things you tell yourself all the time) are: I’m useless, I can’t do this… etc. Then that will work, too! You’ll talk yourself into failing.
Hint: don’t do that.
She works on a 100 day plan. I like it; it’s not too short, not too long and you need to allow about that amount of time for it work.
And ultimately, she wants you to employ her as your life coach/mentor. I reckon she’d be harsh but fair.
Go check her out.
