Callahan Cowboys #2

Cowboy's Bonus Baby

Rate this book
No woman's going to hog-tie Creed Callahan into getting hitched. Even if it means losing his claim on Rancho Diablo, the New Mexico spread that one of six brothers will inherit-- whoever marries and has the most children. Come hell or high water, Creed plans to be the last single man standing. Until sweet temptation comes knocking.... Preacher Aberdeen Donovan is just fine tending her flock and getting ready to adopt her three nieces. Her job description does not include saving some incorrigible cowboy from himself. But there's something about a little competition that makes the devil-may-care bachelor change his mind about needing a wife. And marriage would help Aberdeen provide a home for the little girls. Not to mention, for the little secret that's on the way....

Today we circle back to the Callahans. This should actually be reviewed before The Bull Rider's Twins as it was Creed Callahan's wedding where Darla got *grins* Knocked up. But I read them and reviewed them as they came on my kindle, so this one is happening now.

Creed Callahan figures he is next in line for his aunt's matchmaking designs so he heads off to work the Bull Riding Circut. Things are going pretty good until there weren't. A string of bad luck ends with him being thrown from a bull and suffering a pretty severe concussion. Which actually turns out to be good luck as he ends up in the Donovan's bar.. which leads him to the oh so pretty preacher, Aberdeen Donovan.

Aberdeen Donovan tried the whole marriage route. Married young to a total jerkface.. Aberdeen has sworn off relationships but when Creed Callahan all but collapses in the family bar, she can't help but notice him. Talk about a man falling at your feet. When her plans to adopt her three nieces hit a snag, it seems a marriage to Creed could maybe help things out, who knew either of them would consider marriage?

Now this was a fun book. Aberdeen is a rodeo pastor and it adds flavor to the story. Unlike Jack and Cricket in A Family for the Bull Rider, Aberdeen's faith plays a huge part in who she is and Creed falls for the entire package. Of course if you are going to read these books, this should probably where you should begin but for me, it seems like a great way to wrap up Bull Rider's Week.

The Cowboy's Bonus Baby with Creed's story was going to be a 5-star rated book but the last 30 pages were a total letdown. Aberdeen who seemed like a tolerable flake at the beginning of the story began behaving like a total moron by the end.

In TCBB, her sister, Diane, abandons her 3 sweet, very young girls to her parents' care. The trashy parents guilt Aberdeen into taking custody of the girls which she does. So far, so good, right? In order to have full custody, she convinces Creed, a lovable dope, to marry her.

They move from WY to Creed's ranch in New Mexico, don't actually get married, and because sister Diane returns, Aberdeen proceeds to abandon the girls.. as if they needed that! That's just cruel because she doesn't know for certain Diane is reliable and won't hare off again leaving the girls with the Callahan's.

Despite being hospitable, the Callahan's are strangers. Furthermore, the judge or anyone representing the girls' interests should have stepped forward and stopped this nonsense. That's infuriating, irresponsible and just plain unstable. Why is there no follow-up? These are babies we're talking about. Aberdeen could have easily have sold them into child slavery. Did anyone care she shows up back home without the girls?

Children obviously aren't a concern in this story when Aberdeen proceeds to have Creed's child out of wedlock because he never told her he loved her. Anyone else would have just plain come out and asked him if he did and any smart woman knows love is in his actions.. I will stop now.

The hero didn't want to get married but when he met the heroine things began to change for him. The heroines sister was thinking about giving up her three children for adoption to the heroine, so the hero offered to marry her and have a ready made family. When the heroine found herself pregnant, she was shocked and realizing that her sister was doing better with her children, she decided to leave and break off her engagement. The heroine knew deep down she was in love with the hero and when the hero finally knew he loved her just as much, the race was on!

It was an alright story. I think the heroines sister was a little bit batty, she disturbed me emotionally in a lot of ways. The hero was great to step up to the plate for children that weren't even his relations.

This was cute. It made me laugh and at one point a little heart broken. Creed is a little confused and Aberdeen is stubborn. Both of them need a marriage for their own reasons. They both take their time getting what they want. but good things come to those who wait. *Reviewed for Net Galley*

Baby and Love

The Callahan brothers need wives, according to their aunt. But they have other ideas, especially Creed. Then he meets Aberdeen and things change. A fun book!

Overall I really enjoyed this book. The characters were interesting and fun to read. I loved the dual point of view. I loved getting bits and pieces of drama and mystery wondering when and if the ranch will be taken away in this book or will it be in the next book. The steamy scenes were great. I loved the attraction and connection between Creed and Aberdeen. I was hoping to see more from Aberdeens Ex, that he would be causing trouble not dropping off the face of the book. Overall I thought that this book was a fun read and would recommend you lovely readers to check it out.

Oh, and I also want to point out that even if this book is apart of a series, each book is a stand alone. I mean I'm all over the place with this series, because I didn't realize it was connected to others and when I tried to find the others I was a bit confused because these books had a different set of cover and titles which confused me even more. So take my word for it no matter what order you decide to take with this series it really doesnt matter what book you start with but it might be a good idea to start with the first book.

One Wild Bull Rider by Tina Leonard is a book in the Callahan series. Creed Callahan is a bull rider. He had just gotten bucked off a bull on a rodeo circuit. He ends up in a bar owned by Johnny and Aberdeen Donovan, a brother and sister. He passes out and spends the night. Creed sleeps at the bar. In the morning he has a high fever and doesn't remember anything. They take Creed to the hospital. He has a concussion. Creed remembered he had kissed Aberdeen. He brother comes and gets him but Creed can't forget Aberdeen. Aberdeen is getting ready to adopt her three nieces. Being married would help at court. Creed agrees to marry Aberdeen. Creed needs to get married to keep her aunt off his back about getting married. A lot goes on in this book. A must read.

One Wild Bull Rider by Tina Leonard was an entertaining read that kept me turning the pages, waiting to see what was going to happen with Aberdeen, her family, Creed, and his family. I loved the family dynamics involved and how the secondary characters added to the enjoyment of the story. I loved, loved how the heroine was a preacher, you really don't see too many heroine's like that. Creed was a sweetheart and the way he fell for Aberdeen was endearing. On another note, Matt Triplett graces the cover of this book and I think it's completely awesome that a real professional bull rider was featured on the cover. I'd definitely recommend this read.

When Creed is thrown from a bull during a rodeo competition and wakes up in a strange bed with no memory of how he got there, but the preacher lady that comes to see him catches his attention. He has no idea his life is about to change forever.

Aberdeen Donovan is in a bit of a fix. Her sister has decided she needs a break and has left 3 beautiful little girls that need to be cared for.

Neither Creed nor Aberdeen have any intention of changing their lifestyle or being in a relationship but their circumstances make that option a little more appealing.

This is one of those feel-good books that I enjoys so much. The characters are fun and the story-line is interesting.

The Cowboy’s Bonus Baby by Tina Leonard

Creed Callahan is on the run. No marriage or babies for him. No sir.
The first time preacher Aberdeen Donovan meets Creed, he falls asleep on the floor of her brother’s bar. Not an auspicious beginning, but soon there are more than beer bottles in this cowboy’s life.

An entertaining Rancho Diablo bachelor story. These men think they are so tough and macho but in reality they are big hearted, and huge lovers of women in the best possible way. They support their women in work, life and love. They just need to learn to speak up a little sooner!

Fell totally in love with Creed and Aberdeen's story. One Wild Bull Rider is part of Tina Leonard's Callahan series. Creed leaves home and returns to the rodeo circuit determined not to fall victim to his aunt's matchmaking. Returning home because of an injury, he meets Aberdeen who is the town preacher and seeking to adopt her three nieces. I found it hilarious that he ran away from home to escape matchmaking and fell into it's trap upon his return. A sweetly written story. Received this book for an honest review.

I'd go with 2.5 if possible - its hard to pinpoint what I didnt like, but I think it was the style of the writing - it was hard for me to get into, i think almost as if I was being told everything that was happening and not seeing it.

This is the secomd in a series, and while I could follow the story without having read the first, there were defintely some things that would have made more sense had I read te first book first

I had a hard time getting into it, as the story seemed outlandish, but skipping around, I found some good parts, like when she takes him for fun (nice and steamy) and he starts pursuing her in a sweetly earnest fashion. The rest of the plot falls short

As I read farther and farther in to the story I thought it was going to have an unhappy ending but.... you will have to read and see what the ending was happy or unhappy?

The heroine is a pastor. Not a very good one if she didn't even have a qualm about sex outside of marriage and with someone she barely knew.

Creed Callahan is the subject of the second book in the Callahan Cowboys series written by author Tina Leonard. It's a sweet story.
