This was a sweet little story about a family of orphans, spotlighting both God's care for His own and the way that a faithful, patient witness can touch the most sin-scarred of hearts. I liked and admired both Amy and Will, although the numerous narrative asides weren't integrated as smoothly as they could have been and tended to jolt me out of the flow of the story. The style wasn't particularly smooth in other regards either, and I had to reread sentences frequently because I lost the flow of thought somewhere along the way. Story-wise, I was a little iffy about the way that Amy's patience and self-denial seemed to translate into giving in to the selfishness of the less thoughtful members of the family. I understand trying to influence by example and prayers, but it did seem to just feed the others' bad habits at times, and we never really saw any kind of meaningful reproof for Pick in particular--although Will got them when he struggled at times. Maybe we're supposed to assume that Amy had tried talking to him about his faults, but it would have been nice to see it, rather than only seeing her forbearance with his bad behavior as it goes further and further downhill. I liked the scene at the end, although the long gap and lack of detail about what exactly had happened during that time made it possibly a little less impactful than it could have been. I did very much like the Aldens and the way the bit with the pawnbroker worked out. :)

It's a good story about forgiveness and the willingness to forgive. How God takes care of us even in the most impossible situations. He is there.

I enjoyed this book. It took awhile to get into the story for me. The last half of the book was exciting though.

This was a very sweet book, as all the Rare Collector's Series are, although it's definitely not one of the best, it's still very sweet, and if your looking for a quick easy read, this is a great one!

Great book! It really explores how we are to forgive and love as Christ has forgiven and loved us unconditionally and eternally.

Excellent book at looking at some of the trials of life and how God provides for the needs in miraculous ways. It shows that God is in control and how He can provide when there seems to be no way.
