(4.5 Stars) The book starts out with Jaine desperately trying to find a job. After pitching herself to a theme park, she is offered a job...but only after a summer of playing Cinderella. I love a good fairy tale and this was an expected bonus for me, because it was kind of two in one. Not only does Jaine pretend to be Cinderella, but her real life shows some similarities to the princess's life.

Jaine is a great character. She shows a lot of grit when it comes to proving herself worthy for this ne

Fooling Around with Cinderella by Stacy Juba is a delightful read. Jaine Anderson begins her marketing job at a children’s theme park but she must also work as the parks Cinderella for the summer. Jaine is determined to make this career work and agrees to the terms. Dylan Callahan is her charming boss. The chemistry is undeniable but they are determined to remain professional. Is he

Loved the cover, the characters, the setting and the lively writing! What more need I say? Oh yes, the story wrapped me in a cosy, warm blanket and carried me away to Storybook Valley – I could almost believe it was real. I rather wish it was real! A delightful story, well told. I do hope there will be more in this series; Stacy Juba creates characters you want to have as your friends and neighbours, so naturally you want to know everything there is to know about them.

Fooling around with Cinderella by Stacy Juba is a delightful story featuring Jaine Andersen and her adventure working for Storybook Valley Amusement Park, which is run by the gorgeous Dylan Callahan, the grandson of the couple who started the park. In need of a job, Jaine sends her resume and a letter pitching her ability to raise the attendance numbers to the fairy tale themed park, which has kept its magic through the years but lost its attendance numbers. Fooling Around With Cinderella is the story of Jaine Anderson who proposes a new marketing plan to a local amusement park, seeking a job there but by a turn of events finds herself playing Cinderella instead alongside her marketing role!

I just love fairy tales and stories that promise a fairy tale like experience are always alluring to me. I loved the title, cover and blurb of this book and jumped at the chance to read it.

Entertaining right from the start,

Such a sweet story!

I really enjoy reading modern versions of fairy tales, so I was excited to get my hands on this one. Ms. Juba does a clever job of twisting the traditional elements of the Cinderella story to make this contemporary retelling. More than once I didn't even realize the connection to the original at first, but once I did it made me smile. I can't wait to see what directions she'll go with the rest of the series--so many fun options!

I was attracted by the lively cover, always enjoy a good chick lit, and what girl can resist a Cinderella-themed story, so I thought I’d give this a go. I’m so glad I did.

I’ve been royally entertained for the last few days, immersed in the characters and their comings and goings in Storybook Valley. I love it when an author creates a delightful world in microcosm that draws me into its cosy bosom and makes me feel so at home there. That’s how Storybook Valley made me feel from the start, when J

This was a fast easy and sweet sweet read.

The Writing:
The writing was good. We read all the time from Jaine's POV. It would be great to read something from Dylan's POV too.

The Story:
This is a 'kind of' retelling. You get the obvious details. She acts as Cinderella in Storybook Valley. Then you get part of Cinderella story with other characters and adapted to our reality-right now.
It was great to read it. Cinderella isn't my favorite princess but I liked this. You don't get the main problem unti

This is a sweet and uncomplicated read. With likable characters and a straightforward plot, this was unchallenging and fun. The protagonist Jaine is a doormat to her two older twin sisters and takes a job as the marketing manager for a disney-esque theme park, as well as their temporary Cinderella. Her new boss , Dylan is a delicious hunk of man and things ensue from there.

Unemployed Jaine is balancing wedding planning, babysitting, and looking for a marketing director position. When she pitches her ideas to Dylan Callahan, the general manager of a local family theme park, he is impressed and hires her on the spot. Problem is, Jaine will have to be the theme park Cinderella until the season ends. Since Jaine could easily imagine her boss as Prince Charming, and the way her sisters treat her like their personal servants, she feels like she already fills Cinderella’ ...more

This was a cute fast read for me it moves slow and didn't hold my attention. I kept expecting it to take off but for me it never did. The story has a good plot with a twist on the villain. The chemistry between Jaine and Dylan is wonderful. Jaine lets her family use her and she gets no credit for what she does for them. I did not care for her character she did grow on me as the story went on. I thought at times the story moved to slow and at other times it moved to fast. I am not sure what I exp ...more

This is my first review. The story was awesome but I wish Gabrielle could be a bit more extreme but other than that everything was good especially how Jaine handled her busy schedule while pursuing her dreams or the things she want to do.

Fooling Around with Cinderella is a light easy reading fun book. With a touch of Disney and a Prince Charming, it was total escapism. There was even a pair of glass slippers as you can see from the beautiful cover of the book.

Starting off with Jaine looking for a job in marketing, she applies at Storybook Valley theme park – a great name for a theme park don’t you think. As a compromise she agrees to be “Cinderella” for the summer too. Because of this agreement, she gets to meet Prince Charming,

This is such a fun read! Jaine wants a marketing job and goes to the local theme park trying to get one. Well her plan sorta works, she can have that job if she plays Cinderella for the summer. That can't be too hard can it, even though she doesn't think she's right for the part. What she doesn't take into account is her bossy sisters, a hot boss and his family, and someone from high school who also works there.

This story was laugh out loud funny! The author did a great job making an old fairy

** I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. **

I've had this audiobook for quite some time and have stopped and started it several times since. I had a hard time getting into it, partially because the narrator's voice was so different from how I pictured the lead character. The narrator sounds a lot older than Jaine. That was very disconcerting and the overall story was okay, but not riveting. I really wish there had been more interaction between the two love int

This book is a contemporary light-romance story with references to a popular fairy-tale princess, Cinderella. Jaine is literally Cinderella—well, she gets to dress up and pretends to be Cinderella.

If you're looking for a great read that satisfies an internal need for a feel-good, romance then add Fooling Around With Cinderella to your to-read list. There's a lot that can be learned from Jaine's summer experiences with love, friendship, and family all while dressing up as a princess!

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a cute, clean fairytale-inspired romance. I adored the setting and I liked the characters. I thought the pacing of the story was fine, and the romance was cute. It wasn't super funny, but it had its moments. I will be reading more from this author. 3.5 stars.

If only this park existed - how fun for me as a young girl. The characters are realistic. Jaine is a delight and the perfect Cinderella. Her (prince) Dylan is the ideal catch. The cast of characters set the family story in top form. I highly recommend this delightful romance. Ms. Juba has a fantastic way with words and a real grasp for telling a charming story.
