Home For Christmas is a wonderful collection of stories, absolutely perfect to get you in the mood for the festive season.
A Cowboy For Christmas by Debra Ullrick is an absolutely charming Christmas story grounded in God, faith, family and love. Callie's Dad broke hers and her mother's heart when he walked out on them for her Aunt Dee. Callie has guarded her heart ever since, preferring to lock it away rather than risk being hurt. After all, all men behave in the same way, don't they? Out of the blue, two weeks before Christmas, Dustin, Callie's childhood friend appears to help out on her Mom's farm. Together they rekindle old friendships, but could something greater blossom? A perfect story on a dark winters evening to warm your heart.
Comfort and Joy by Lynette Sowell is a delightful Christmas story with love, families and second chances themes. Love is not just for the young. There is family love, God's love and the love of companionship and friendship. This story will leave you feeling good and glowing with happiness.
Christmas Diamond by Halle Bridgeman is a sweet Christmas love story, full of coincidences as TJ and Faith get to know each other. TJ is a historian interested in the exploits of women pilots in World War II. Faith flies her grandmother's old World War II plane. Together they discover how they feel about each other as they unpack their individual histories.
Christmas Grace by Rose McCauley tells of Grace and Chris who grew up together as best friends. They have not seen each other since the funeral of Chris's wife Terrie three years ago. Both are back in their home town for a visit. They renew their friendship and revive old memories. Another delightful story of new beginnings and second chances. There is a definite focus on God as the characters talk to Him, and make decisions to make Him Lord of their lives. A charming offering.
A Christmas Bond by Lee Tobin McClain shows how living with one foot in the past can make both Annie and John miserable. Annie guards her heart and will not even trust God. She is angry with Him. John has faith, but is an ex soldier suffering from PTSD. Bad weather and a broken boiler on Christmas Eve find Annie and her grandmother thrown together with John and the four teenage boys he looks after in a halfway house. It is an unusual mix for Christmas. A totally delightful story exploring the themes of faith, trust, prejudice, goodness and new creations.
More Than A Tiara by Valerie Cromer is absolutely charming. The themes of looking after the plight of widows and orphans run through the story, with the emphasis on sacrificing the self, to ensure that the vulnerable are cared for. This was first published in Snowflake Tiara by Angela Breidenbach in 2014.
Believe In Me by Autumn Macarthur is a wonderful story, not just to be read in the lead up to Christmas, but at any time. It highlights the importance of believing in God's promises - no matter what has happened in the past, God still loves you. No one is ever too far from God. And feelings of guilt are from the enemy, and no one should wallow in them. This is the second story in the Love In Store series which are all wonderful reads.
I thoroughly enjoyed all the stories and can highly recommend this collection. It is totally delightful.
Just in time to get me ready for the holiday season! I thoroughly enjoyed each and every story in this series. In the first story we read about how Callie and Dustin find their way back into each other's arms. Next we read about Gwynn and how her children gave her a New York vacation as an early Christmas present. When Gwynn feels a connection with Theo, she has to decide between leaving everything she knows and let vets for a chance of romance. Then we read about Faith and TJ. Two individuals with different backgrounds, however their common bond brings them very close together. Perhaps my favorite story was Chris and Grace. Best friends when they were young, tragedy put some distance between them. I loved reading about their growing attraction when reacquainted and how they dealt with those feelings. Next there is Annie and John. No reason a little age difference should keep people from noticing each other, right? Then the highs and lows of Jase and Marisa. It's so great to see how God works out all the perfect details. I like the nickname for the next story. Mr. DDG aka Drop Dead Gorgeous. Is he the right one for Cara?? Over all these stories were heart-warming, well written and enjoyable.
One thing I like about boxed sets is that they usually give me an affordable opportunity to try stories by new authors as well as authors that I already enjoy reading. This set of novellas was a good choice for $0.99 at amazon.com. All of the books offered clean, romantic, faith-filled reading with a healthy dash of Christmas cheer to bolster the spirit. I have a hard time picking a favorite out of this set. Romance and Christmas celebrations could be found from a London department store to New York City's Rockerfeller Center; Gatlinburg, Tennessee to an airshow in Florida. and out west there was cattle to be farmed and a tiara to be won. If you are in need of specific reviews, I have placed them on each book's listing at goodreads.com.
Home for Christmas is a collection of seven novellas all centered around the Christmas season. Each story is a wonderful combination of faith, romance, and second chances that combine to make a very enjoyable read. I thoroughly enjoyed each story in the collection and definitely recommend to any one who enjoys sweet romance stories that center around the Christmas season.
This is a truly wonderful collection of Christma Love Stories. Each one is soul satisfying and uplifting. I highly recommend. Absolutely loved every story in the collection. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Home for Christmas is a series of novellas that gives us a glimpse of Christmas in various locales. We see romance, God's love, and forgiveness. The characters were interesting and stories appealing. I met some old friends and some new.
If you like short and sweet, this was a fun story. Yes, it had the problem all novella's have. It was WAY too short, but sometimes a person just needs a little pick me up without having to read a big book. The main characters, Callie and Dustin take a situation they had no control over as teenagers and turn it into the situation that God planned for them once they are adults. A happy ending for all.
Comfort and Joy:
Gwynn and Theo's daughters plan a trip for Gwynn to go to New York. She is to stay with Theo and his daughter and enjoy New York at Christmas time. Only nobody thought that the two of them would enjoy spending time together and giving each other a second chance at love.
Christmas Diamond:
TJ and Faith meet on the Florida beach when Faith trips over TJ's body. He's just been washed up on shore and she does mouth to mouth and gets him breathing again. Love happens quickly for both of them. Fun novella length story.
Christmas Grace:
Grace and Chris were best friends. They've been apart for many years now, Grace having gone off to college while Chris married the other member of their Three Musketeers. After losing his wife, Chris and Grace have reunited while she's in town helping her parents.
This was a fun story that was romantic. It was great to watch their friendship build again.
A Christmas Bond:
A school for delinquent boys, a grandmother, an untrusting young lady, and a guy who's trying to make it all work. Annie is afraid for her grandmother who lives next to a boys school. Her twin sister was tortured by a group of people and she's never been comfortable around groups of teenagers since. When she has to deal with these boys while helping her grandmother out, she gets to face her fears.
A nice story of learning to trust and not judge.
More Than A Tiara:
Marisa does not want to participate in the Snowflake Pageant. But when Jase's family approaches her about it they are able to change her mind. She hates having to be around Jase though. He's already broken her heart once. Can see keep it to herself this time around?
Believe in Me:
Cara has hated Christmas and not believed in God for some time. And she's got as good of a reason as anyone ever could. When Nick is brought in to increase holiday sales, Cara finds herself having to work with him, though it does not make her happy. But in the end, she comes to find that the things she's blamed on herself were not her fault and she realizes that Santa helped her to believe again.
I love romance at Christmas, while being reminded of the true reason for the season. This collection and others are also a great way to discover new authors. New favorites emerge!
