Five years ago, Brooke had everything she wanted… until it disappeared like a magic trick. While she grieved the loss of her perfect future, fate sealed it. Moving on wasn’t an option. It was a requirement.

Now, Brooke has more money than she knows what to do with. But she also has panic attacks, no relationships outside her family, and a daughter. Brooke may have shut down, but there is no way to numb the constant terror that Mia could be taken away from her. She spends her days looking over her shoulder and avoiding her shameful memories.

She’s fine hiding from the world until Chris moves next door. A friendship forms when they unwillingly bond over their painful pasts. As walls come down, their relationship starts to develop into more. Brooke now realizes everything she’s missing out on and wants—a happy and stable family for her and Mia.

But Mia may not be the child with no traces of her father as Brooke assumed. And making a moral choice will risk everything.

This book contains explicit language, graphic sexual content, and sensitive topics which may be triggers to some readers. Reader discretion is advised.

Re read 2021: I liked this book but I guess I read it way before I cared about epilogues because this book had a very abrupt ending with no epilogue. While this book was still cute i just didn’t live it as much as the first time I read it

** I received an advanced readers copy direct from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!**

Kelly Lincoln is a new author to me. When she reached out to me about reviewing her book I thought why not. I'm always in the market to find new authors to follow and books to read. A lot of times, when it's possible, I don't read the synopsis so that the book is a complete surprise. That was the case with this book. All I knew was that it was an adult contemporary romance. I had no expectations.

I have to say that this was one of the better contemporary romances that I have read in recent months. It was really, really good. It was better than good, I actually kind of adored it.

There was a deeper story here than just two people developing a relationship. There was also a story of family love that went beyond the normal blood ties. Lincoln penned a beautiful story about two people with terrible pasts that find strength and comfort in each other. I was hanging on ever word.

The characters were wonderful too. Despite Brooke's panic attacks and her forgetfulness when it came to snack day, she was an amazing single mother. I don't think there is a single reader out there that could argue that. Her love and devotion towards her daughter was endless. I loved Mia and I could see both of my girls in her at that age. It is Chris though, that I really want to say something about. He was just an absolutely beautiful man both inside and out. After only two sentences with him in it I had a new book boyfriend. His physical attributes were off the charts but his personality was what won me over so quickly. Sigh...if I were single and he were real I'd be telling Brooke to watch out!

This book is a contemporary romance so there were lots of sparks flying and enough chemistry to satisfy the sexier side of us all. There was also another more complicated side to this book that tackled a few very serious topics that made it just a little bit more. I highly recommend it to readers of this genre. You won't be disappointed.

This was my first read by Kelly Lincoln. I was first interested in the story by the plot and I really liked the idea of a single mom trying to make a life for her and her daughter.

Brooke was a fun heroine. She has some signs of post dramatic stress disorder because of different things that happened in her life. She is 100% dedicated to her daughter Mia. Mia is her world and her number one priority. Brooke’s sister has lived next door to her for a very long time and when she moves out with her family to a bigger home, she feels a little bit of separation anxiety. Anxiety and worry play a big part in Brooke’s life. She is a fun and sweet character.

Chris is Brooke’s brother-in-laws friend. He is gorgeous and carries his own baggage. Although both Brooke’s sister and brother-in-law have wanted to set up Chris and Brooke the timing was never right. When Chris moves in they can’t help but form a friendship. When Mia and Chri’s nephew become friends Chris and Brooke also form a friendship.

Chris and Brooke have good chemistry and I was happy to see how they formed a friendship first and then a romance. Overall, I enjoyed this story and found it enjoyable. My one big gripe is how overly dramatic everything became. The first half of the story is really about Chris and Brooke getting to know each other and forming a romantic relationship and then all the skeletons jump out of the closet.

I thought that this was a bit much, I felt like literally everything happened to Brooke and even Chris for that matter. I personally would have enjoyed it more if this was a novella and the last half of the book was cut out. It seemed to overly done. Nonetheless I was happy for both Chris and Brooke as they battled their demons and found love.

This book hypnotize me. It was a refreshing and well put together novel that pulled me out of my book funk. This is the first novel I've read by the author which I have an ARC of her first novel to be read on my kindle at the moment but cover and blurb pulled me into this one first. And I'm so glad it didn't let me down.

I also loved the fact that the wording flowed nicely. The story line and the premise of the story was realistic which makes me want to read more future reads from this author. I felt that I lived in Brooke's shoes; lived her life even though it was just a fictional novel it felt very real too me.

Wonderful!

I only had to read the synopsis of this story by Kelly Lincoln, to know I was going to love it! I am a sucker for single parent stories. Doesn’t matter if it’s the guy or the girl, I’m in! This is the story of Brooke and her daughter Mia and what happens when the condo next door has a hot new owner.

Chris is such a wonderful man. I could just imagine him wanting to take care of Brooke and Mia, even if it was nothing more than friendly neighbors. Brooke was holding on to a lot of baggage and mental anguish. It was wonderful that Chris recognized this right away and helped her work through it instead of stepping away. His hotness level climbed through the roof when he played dress up with Mia. Great guy!

Kelly Lincoln is s new to me author. It was a joy to read this book. The writing was well thought out and flowed nicely. There are some pretty intense flashbacks that occur and there is a trigger warning for readers. However, there is also a perfect spattering of humor in the book. It’s hard to not smile when there are little children making their wishes known. Brooke and Chris realize they could be more than just friends and the author builds anticipation to make that moment even more explosive. A very lovely read and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future!

This was the first time I have read Kelly Lincoln, and boy did I LOVE this story!

Brooke is a single mother with more money than she knows what to do with. The problem is how she got that money wasn't worth it. Five years ago she thought life was perfect, when it all came crumbling down in one night. Now she battles demons, is constantly looking over her shoulder, suffers panic attacks, and has no relationships outside her daughter and family. Once again her life changes when Chris moves next door, but this time for the better. Chris battles a few demons of his own, and shies away from any relationship with women. That is until he meets Brooke, and they bond over painful pasts. Their walls are starting to come down, and a relationship starts to develop, but will they be able stand strong when the Brooke's past comes back to bite them?

This story brought me to my knees, on top of blowing my mind. The character development is fantastic, and a well written, emotional, and beautiful storyline flows smoothly. Kelly Lincoln did a fabulous job hooking me from cover to cove, and upset when it ended. Her easy writing style had me experiencing the story almost seemingly firsthand. I felt all of Brooke's emotions so strongly that I found it hard to breathe at times. Beyond Repair is a super powerful and emotional read, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

This is a very, very good adult contemporary romance novel written by Kelly Lincoln and you will NOT regret reading it. I truly enjoyed reading every page and to be totally honest, I could not bring myself to stop reading this book. This is the love story of Brooke, her five year old daughter Mia and the sexy neighbor who end up purchasing her sister’s condo next door.

Brooke is a single mother but her daughter, Mia was not the result of a loving relationship. Soon after graduating and obtaining her Masters in Graphic Design, Brooke landed a designer job with the most respected agency in New York. While her professional life was off to a great start, her personal life was crumbled to pieces, when her one month engagement to her fiancée, Jake came to an end. Brooke didn’t move to New York for the job, she moved there to be with Jake and now he was gone.

Heartbroken and betrayed she tries to attend the agency’s party where she tries to appear as if nothing is wrong. While trying to search for some alone time, Brooke steps out of the party and Pierce spots her, little did she know he was about to destroyed her life in ways she never imagined.

After drinking a bottle of water offered to her by Pierce, Brooke finds herself in a situation that no woman should, she was drugged and raped by the agency owner’s son, Pierce. What is a prominent business owner to do when his son has done something so ugly? He pays off the victim to keep silent. However, Brooke’s nightmare is far from over.

After little Mia’s is born, Brooke becomes the most dedicated mother a child can have. However, her tragic encounter with Pierce has left her with emotionally scars, constantly looking over her shoulder, afraid that if Pierce finds out he would try and take Mia away from her. Suffering from panic attacks, Brooke finds herself with no friends, but she’s okay with that until Chris moves in next door.

Chris has a dark past and focus solely on his career and hobby of flipping houses but when he meets Brooke, he finds himself wanting to have a family which was taken from him.

This romantic story has everything, funny moments between the main characters, Brooke and Chris, as well as between Brooke and her sister, Zoey. Who doesn’t enjoy a friendly banter between siblings?

This story has many tender moments between Brooke and her daughter, Mia. Those steaming intimate moments shared by the main characters were perfectly written. I did not find the writing “vulgar” or “disturbing” when the author described the sexual encounters between Brooke and Chris.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!

I don’t even know where to begin with this book, this simply was a read I loved. Kelly Lincoln outdid herself in Beyond Repair. Kelly is a new author for me and let me say, she created such a strong and moving story. Kelly is able to take such a hard subject and show us what happens when the dust settles and the victim has to deal with demons left after something very tragic. Be prepared to smile, to cry, to get to the point you want to scream and cry! This book will give you a ride but in the end you will leave smiling!
Imagine waking up at a party and not remember everything. Having to sign a paper to keeping quiet! That’s what happened to Brooke. She is now left with tons of money and a daughter that she adores. She has her walls up, and intends to not let anyone take them down. Nightmares and triggers have weighed her down and made it to the point she hides from the world. That all changes when her brother’s friend moves in next door. Chris slowly breaks down her walls and starts to heal the many broken pieces of Brooke until the past comes back to haunt her. Faced with a choice, she stands to lose everything and that is something Brooke cannot handle. After living in the dark for so long and getting a glimpse into what life in the light is about, can Brooke make the right choice?

This book simply was moving on so many levels and the way Kelly wrote about Brooke, simply was amazing. The characters, the plot simply made this book a masterpiece. Many tough subjects are talked about in this book in way that will not anger you but a way that will move you. This is an emotional read that I give 5 stars. The characters from the main to the supporting truly bring this story together and shows support from everyone around you in the good and bad came make you stronger. This book was an emotional rollercoaster that I read in one day, I simply had to know how it ended.

Beyond Repair by Kelly Lincoln is the story of Brooke & Chris. Brooke is a single mother with a great job, money in the bank and the love of her life is her daughter Mia. Brooke is best friends with her sister Zoe and Zoe’s Family. Chris is Brooke’s B-I-L’s childhood friend. Zoe and Kyle have told Brooke and Chris about each other as they are to become neighbors. They know that each other is safe – neither is interested in a relationship.
Brooke has huge trust issues, is suspicious of everyone, has terrible OCD coping skills and generally has no social skills because of past events. She was in a happily ever after relationship that went bad and immediately after was violated in a way no woman should have to deal with – EVER.
Chris is not looking for a relationships because he got burned by his last girlfriend. Something in his life happened that he hasn’t really shared with anyone – yet something so serious his is now gun shy with women. He is a contractor who has a body that Brooke drools over.
Their chemistry is off the charts.
The story follows Brooke and Chris and takes us on a path of love at first site, overcoming past obstacles, becoming a blended family, dealing with past traumas, strength, courage and looking fears in the eyes and kicking it in the balls.
I admired Brooke’s strength and determination in this story. She was willing to raise her daughter w/out the fears that Brooke currently has. Chris is a strong guy and when he meets “the one” isn’t afraid to let his defenses down.
There is a secondary event that happens and I will say that Ms. Lincoln dealt with childhood illness in a very clinical yet feeling way.
I felt this is a story shows how good things came come about from bad events.

Beyond Repair by Kelly Lincoln is a heart clutching romance. Brooke woke up from a one night stand by having papers pushed into her face by lawyers coercing her into signing a secrecy agreement. Now she has more money than she knows what to do with and I beautiful daughter that owns her heart. She made a choice and is now living with panic attacks and spends her days hiding from everything and using way too much hand sanitizer.
When her brother’s hot friend, Chris, moves in next door, he slowly starts to chip away at her fortress. As much he is breaking down her walls, she is busy breaking down his. Can they complete each other?
“I feel like I’m finally complete, like a piece of me that I never knew was missing has finally made me whole.”
She buries all her secrets but not everything stays buried. Brooke’s secrets come rushing back to the forefront and she is faced with another choice. The stakes are even higher this time, she stands to lose everything. What will her choice be? Will she end up happy or will she lose her reason for living?
This is a beautiful story about overcoming obstacles and becoming a stronger independent person. Brooke and Chris are both traumatized but they are trying to overcome that and live normal lives. It was a little slower starting off but if you push past you won’t regret it. Kelly Lincoln did an outstanding job and I will be recommending this book to all my friends.

This is my first book by Kelly Lincoln. It was good read. Although the book deals with post-traumatic stress issues and hit does have triggers and flashbacks in it. But the characters had a good story line. The emotions run high with this book, with heartache and tragedy.
Brooke is a single mother who lives and breathes for her daughter Mia. She has been close with her sister forever and when her moves it causes some separation anxiety. Her sister and her husband are constantly trying to set her up with someone. But she doesn’t do relationships. When she meets her new neighbor Chris, it ignites something in her that she has not felt in a long time. Her sister and brother in law have wanted to set up Chris and Brooke for a while but it never seemed like a good time.
Brooke and Chris both are broken and damaged, but they don’t rush into anything they start a wonderful friendship that grows into love. But with traumatic pasts come scars and both Brooke and Chris are covered in a lifetime worth of scars that no one should have to endure alone.
They are the perfect pair because they both understand what the other person is going through. Even though they have been dealt the cards they were given, they seem to always appreciate what they have and look at the brighter things in life.
I would definitely recommend this book! And I look forward to reading more from Kelly Lincoln.

Three and a Half Stars

A mother’s love for her child is definitely one of the core themes in this story. The subtler but no less substantial theme is the importance of a mother to not loose herself and her need for happiness.

It happens to the best of parents that you tend to lose yourself in the act of parenting. But you deserve happiness as much as your children do. As simple as it seems, it is easily forgotten. So most parents can relate to this element of the story.

And who wouldn’t want a hot neighbor to move in right next door? Right.

I did have trouble in the beginning to track what was going on. I understood that something had happened in her past, but wasn’t quite sure what relevance it was to what was going on. I also understood that it was being used to ramp up the suspense, but after a few times it was just confusing.

There is a good amount of mystery involved in the story, which propels the reader forward. The characters are compelling and relatable. The writing is done well and it is compelling. I would definitely recommend for a good read.

Beyond Repair is an incredibly touching, contemporary romance by Kelly Lincoln. This is the first book that I have read from this author and it certainly won’t be the last- this book moved me so much, I will definitely be exploring her other works very thoroughly.
Brooke is a graphic designer who has gone through a life changing experience and as a result has shut down and become withdrawn, especially from dating and any social situations. She has spent the past five years scared, looking over her shoulder, battling her anxiety and being wracked by panic attacks. Guilt and shameful memories still hold her hostage and forgiving herself is the hardest thing for her to do.
But the single mother hasn’t let her problems prevent her from being a wonderful, loving and attentive parent to her (almost) 4 year old daughter. It isn’t always easy, but Mia is what is most important in her life and is Brooke’s motivation to build a future for them both.
When a new neighbour moves in next door, Brooke is quite taken with him and is completely unprepared for the multitude of feelings that are unleashed every time she sees him. He intrigues, arouses and excites her; but more importantly he understands her, makes her feel safe and comforted- when she realizes this, it only adds to the burden of guilt she is already carrying.
Chris works in construction and has recently moved back to town, having his own painful memories to deal with. He isn’t interested in having a relationship and distances himself from most people, especially women. But when he meets Brooke, he can’t deny his intense attraction to her, or the reassurance and comfort he feels in her presence. The more time he spends with her, the deeper his feelings for Brooke (and Mia) grow.
A supportive friendship develops between the two of them. They make a pact to take things slow and see what happens. When Brooke receives devastating news, will the resulting turmoil drive them apart or deepen their bond. Will they both find the strength needed to tell the other of their painful pasts? What is it that has burdened them for so long? Why is Brooke constantly looking over her shoulder and what is it that she is afraid of?
I was so caught up in this story from the moment I opened the book. Ms. Lincoln had me on the edge of my seat, completely enthralled by her beautiful, emotional and heart-warming story. I was caught in a whirlwind of emotions- laughing, sobbing as my heart broke for the characters and then shedding tears of sheer happiness.
There are many layers to this book and Ms. Lincoln masterfully weaves the story- blending all the elements ingeniously. She also adds quite a few twists to the story that had me in nail biting suspense. Then if that wasn’t enough, she included some love scenes that sent my temperature soaring, they were passionate, erotic and so sizzlingly hot! I’m going to need a cold shower, or six!
Oh My Goodness, I fell in love with Chris- He is perfect in every way. He’s an all-round nice guy- so dedicated, kind, considerate, caring and protective. And let’s not forget drop dead gorgeous, sensual, and a sinfully good lover. When he loves, he does so with every fibre of his being. Even though Brooke was emotionally damage, she still had a strength to her character that I admired. She had been through so much and yet still had the courage to go on and didn’t shy away when it came to making difficult choices. Their past experiences make them perfect for each other. Then there is Mia, such an adorable, plucky, delightful little girl. I loved her so much.
The story included some topics that could act as a trigger for some readers, but I though Ms. Lincoln handled the subjects with compassion and sensitivity.
The story is a standalone and ends with a HEA.
This is a truly wonderful read! Ms. Lincoln is a gifted storyteller and this book is one you must read. You won’t be disappointed!

Thank-you, Ms. Lincoln.

GOSH THIS BOOK WAS SOOO GOOD! Exactly what I needed. First of all I LOVE the cover! And the colour is so beautiful. When the author emailed me with the opportunity to review, I couldn't say no after reading the blurb and damn I'm so glad. The plot was realistic and I fell in love with the characters. Every single thing was executed perfectly.

The story revolves around the lives of Brooke and Chris, both have a tragic past of their own from which they still suffer. As they slowly get to know each other, they bond on a deeper level. And Chris loves Mia, Brooke's daughter as his own. But the question remains, will Chris still feel the same way about them after he gets to know the actual truth? And when the past comes to haunt them, will they be able to face it together and overcome it or will their love and future shatter forever?

I really enjoyed reading this book. Brooke was a great mother although she doubted herself. I really, really felt bad about what happened to her in the past. Life was freaking unfair to her. For her situation, she handled it quite maturely and she raised up a great daughter. I loved Mia, she was simply adorable and cute. I couldn't get enough of her. Chris went through some terrible stuff in his past as well but both of them understood each other so well, in a way no one ever had. He was such a great guy, so caring and understanding. He was a keeper. When life threw hurdles at them, although she tried to push him away but he never let go. He always held them together, strong. I really admired this quality about him. He was a pretty perfect guy and how he did everything for Mia just melted my heart.

The romance between them was built up slowly and there was perfect amount of chemistry between them. I just loved their relationship and the fact that he never questioned her decesions. I freaking loved what happened near the end, she finally faced her past and punched it away, literally! It was super awsome and I had a big smile plastered over my face! The side characters were great as well, specially Brooke's sister she was supportive and a great sister. All in all, everything was executed just the way I like it.

The writing was beautiful and addicting. I didn't want to stop once I started reading it but I usually start a book during night and have to pause. Otherwise I would have finished it in one sitting. A few sensitive topics were dealt in this novel and I liked how the author potrayed them. I loved the pace, it was neither too fast nor too slow, it was even throughout the book.

Overall, Beyond Repair was a great book. I loved how the plot was executed and how everything was portrayed realistically. All the characters were pretty great and I fell in love with them. There was a healthy dose of romance thrown into the mix as well. The writing was smooth and the pace was even throughout the book. I'm pretty satisfied after reading this book and I definitely look forward to read more books by this author.

Recommend it?

Definitely yes!

Brooke is a graphic designer, who has a daughter, Mia. She is content with her life as a mother, quite happy to plod along and dote on Mia. Her sister Zoey, has other ideas, and tries tirelessly to set her up on a date.

She meets her new neighbour, Chris, and she feels something she has not felt in a very long time. Attraction. He flustered her with his big arms, long, tall body and his all round sexiness.

They both have painful pasts, but as their feelings grow, they know that to move forward with each other, they have to open up and trust one another. Chris is so great with her and Mia, Brooke’s feelings run deeper each day. They struggle to take things slow, as the attraction and heat grows like wildfire, beginning to burn out of control.

Chris is the only man to ever calm Brooke when she becomes totally overwhelmed by her past. He knows when to just be there, he knows when she needs his physical touch, and he knows just the right words to say, to bring her a calmness that she doesn’t normally feel after an episode. He never has to be told, he is just so in tune with her and what she needs, he gives her the comfort and the safety she so desperately craves. Brooke also is the strength Chris needs to deal with his past. Her just being there and reassuring him that he is no longer alone and is good enough, is the balm he needs to soothe him.

Brooke and Chris both have hidden scars, but that just makes them more perfect for each other. By both being hurt in the past, they can offer each other that little bit more support, because they understand each other's struggles.

Brooke and Chris have been through more heartache than most people endure in a lifetime, and still they can find something beautiful in each day, something that makes getting out of bed that much brighter. Their love for each other continues to grow, and they continuously share their feelings, knowing how fragile and precious life is. What they share is something so complete and beautiful, they will do anything in their power to make each other’s lives happier.

Beyond Repair was a very emotional read, and my first from Kelly Lincoln. This book has so much, i just could not help loving it. If you are looking for a book that offers so much, then this book is a must read. If you love reading about a close family unit, then this is for you. If you love reading about a couple triumphing over incredible odds, then this is a must buy. Beyond Repair cover so many emotions and situations. It has heartache, tragedy, difficult situations that may cause distress to some. It deals with sadness, sickness, recovery and revenge. But it is also so incredibly moving. Did I also mention, extremely sensual and passionate. While it broke my heart to read their story, it also made me whole again. Their love was so real and blindingly beautiful. Their love shouted, “Screw you, world, we have something so unique, you will not be strong enough to break our bond to each other.

A gripping and beguiling tale of broken hearts, healed by a love like no other. A modern day, raw, no holds barred fairytale.

Brooke has a beautiful little girl called Mia who she loves more than anything and she thinks that Mia and her family are all she needs in her life because of the awful thing that happened in her past. But then Chris moves in next door and she starts to have feelings she thought she would never have again. Chris also has a secret that makes him not want a relationship; but maybe these two broken people can repair each other with the help of a beautiful little girl? And maybe these two meet at just the right time to help each other get through another horrible situation.

“My eyes widened as I finally accepted the feelings I’d been having all weekend. I didn’t want him to leave because I liked him. I was so fucked. The first time I felt something in years, and it was for a guy who didn’t date.”

I really loved this book. It gave me all the feels and was slammed full of emotion. It’s an easy going book, you know something awful has happened to both Brooke and Chris and when they help each other through that, another situation happens that will pull at your heart strings and make u beg to the reading gods that everything turns out okay.

“I really want this to work,” he whispered, his lips brushing against me as he kept talking. “I don’t know how else to put it. I want this to work so badly, and I know you don’t trust people easily.” He moved back, so he was looking into my eyes again. “I’m going to do everything I can to earn that, Brooke. I swear I will.”

Brooke and Mia were both so loveable. Strong mother, strong daughter with the two of them against the world. Their bond was unbreakable and beautiful. Brooke really was an amazing woman, a great mum, strong, brave, independent and always fighting for the best for her daughter. Mia was a bundle of joy and happiness who you just knew would light up a room.

“Chris felt so good, everything about him. His hard chest, his tight arms, those big hands pressing into my back, pinning me against him. But my favorite thing was his mouth exploring mine, needy and giving at the same time.”

Chris was our hero. A sweet, kind and quiet man but as the story developed you see his sexy, protective and strong side. His dedication to both Mia and Brooke was so adorable and the way he overcomes his own sad past to be there for them both made my heart sigh.

“I want to memorize this,” he said. “You look like a damn goddess and you’re mine. I know you were before but now … I finally have everything I’d given up dreaming about.”

This is such a roller coaster ride filled with emotion. It’s tough going for a while and when you think everything is working out…BAM another heartbreaking story line happens and you are right back to holding your breath and hoping that everyone gets their HEA! Highly recommend this story to those who want an emotional read, with loveable characters and a excellent story line.

“I needed nothing more at that moment than to feel him against me, taking me back to last night when everything was perfect. I put my hand on his arm, letting out an involuntary sigh as I looked at him. God, he was so frigging tall. He leaned down toward me. I stood on my tiptoes… And got the worst cramp in my foot ever. ‘Sh*t!’ I exclaimed as I tripped over into him.” Talk about the worst c*ck block ever and not to mention such an embarrassing moment.

From gaining some grounds to losing more grounds. In Beyond Repair by Kelly Lincoln, a mother takes on many hardship as well as challenges in order to once again find happiness and Peace with herself and others.

Brooke is a single parent who is raising her three-year-old daughter, Mia while living next to her older sister, Zoey and her husband Kyle. Brooke is a graphic designer who has been through a lot. There are times when she has panic attacks, and in order to keep herself calm she uses hand sanitizer. Zoey wants Brooke to get back into the dating game, and tries to hook her up with guys. But Brooke wants no part of it and often denies the guys. Deciding to only focus on Mia and their needs, as well as keeping Mia’s father away from her. But one guy has managed to breach Brooke's barrier and caught her attention, and that is Kyle’s best friend Chris.

Chris works as a construction worker and he helps build houses for charities. He’s also a great uncle who loves his five-year-old nephew, Ryder. Chris has just taken over Kyle and Zoey's old condo next to Brooke’s, and the first time they meet she doesn’t like him. But after talking to him and spending time together, he becomes important to her. Chris quickly feels strong feelings for Brooke and Mia, and hopes to develop into something more. But with any relationship honesty and trust is required.

Their feelings are mutual, but both Chris and Brooke need to come clean about their past in order to move on with one another. Will Chris be able to overcome his nervousness and tell Brooke? And will Brooke be able to get Chris to understand why she made the decisions she did? As well as prevent Mia’s father from seeing her?

This books jumps you right into the story. The beginning of the chapter grabs at you, and you will find yourself unable to put down the book. I love the way the author has you thinking “Oh, so the worst is over.” Then BAM, something else happens and you're unable to stop reading because you want to find out what will happen next. My favorite character in this book is Mia, you will love this little girl. She makes you laugh, and she has a lot of spunk for being a three-year-old girl going on four. But your heart will go out for Brooke and Chris, with all she has to deal with and how dedicated Chris is. If you’re looking for a book that has a twist, and romance then this is a book for you. Don’t fall asleep on this book because you will be surprised by what you find out.

My opinion I could have given this book more than five stars. The book follows the life of Brooke and her daughter Mia. Brooke years ago was in love with Jake he had bought her a puppy, around the puppy’s neck was an engagement ring. From that day Brooke thought she had everything she could have ever wanted. But as quick as he gave her the ring he had left her for another woman. From that moment Brooke decided that she was not going to be in a relationship for a long time. Starting a new job which she was looking forward to. Was asked to go over details of his work by the company owner’s son Pierce. Pierce had no intentions having her go over his work, instead he drugged her water and raped her. A result of this was s signed contract not to say anything and a 2-million-dollar payout. Another result of this rape was her precious daughter Mia. At the beginning she was going to have an abortion but seeing the baby on the screen she decided to keep the baby and never regretted her decision.
Her sister Zoe and her family lived in the condo next to Brooke and Mia but recently had sold it to ne of Kyles school friend. The new owner of the condo was Chris. He had just as many relationship issues as Brooke. But it doesn’t take long for the sparks to stay flying between them. Becoming comfortable with each other things are going well Mia tells Chris she loves him which of course makes him happy. Shortly after their relationship starts Mia becomes ill, she is taken to the doctors to find she had cancer it hadn’t spread. Brooke blames herself for not noticing that Mia was so ill and tries to push Chris away but he was having none of it telling her he was in this for the long haul. All of Brookes family was tested but the cancer was not on her side of the family but that of Pierce. On finding out this she goes to their office and demands to see them only to find out they already knew about the cancer but didn’t tell her, even though Frank could have at any time since he had been having her followed and was fully aware he had a granddaughter that he had no interest in. Brooke is furious and gets back to the reason she is at the office. Frank thinks she wants more money but tells them she is there to speak to Pierce. Handing him the folder she is carrying she tells to sign the papers terminating his parental rights to Mia. Pierce gets smart with Brooke over Mia, Chris goes forward and punches Pierce than hold him up for Brooke to take couple of shots at him. Finally, free from Pierce Brooke can now go home and enjoy her family life with Chris and Mia. Mia who is now happily calling Chris dad and Chris is enjoying hearing that form his new daughter

I first want to start this off by saying this book is amazing but if you easily upset some of it may be trigger to you so please, keep that in mind. With that outta the way let me tell you a little about this heart warming and yet wrenching story. Family is what a mother a father and their children but we have learned as a society that it is some much more than that family is what we make it blood, or non blood, just because you helped to create the child doesn't earn you the right to be a parent right. Well its OK if you disagree but keep that thought in your mind going in to this story. Beyond Repair is heart wrenching it touches one of the most taboo topics in the world today it, will have you hot with anger and have you crying tears of joy. Beyond Repair shows what a mothers love truly is, how the life of one child can make everything seem so much better how you can looks a little human so innocent and young and never see the evil that once cause it to be. It touches on some of the most sensitive topic there is but it does with grace and in away that makes it well easier to understand. They bring the turmoil out in the character in away you feel as though it is your story. I love this story tho because it shows us that no matter how broken we are you can always , repair the damage you may never put it be hind us but with he right t help we can over come it. You can stand up with our heads held high and be OK with the choices we have made in the past. It shows what the love of a family can do to heal a person who was once lost and broken completely cut off to the world the way the main character Brooke was in the begin of this story always waiting for the boggy man to rear his head out of the corner, unable to open herself up to anyone. Finding ways to cope the consent anxiety and fears that haunt he dreams. But she grows and starts to heal with the help of the hot neighbor next story, who has had his share of guilt and regret, together they find away to break down the walls and face the storm together. Yes this may be a story of love to some but to me this story is so much more it one of courage and strength one of growth and repair. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did and big thumbs up to the author this is truly amazing. I must say before I end it does contain some sexual scenes and explicit language.

“ Have enough courage to trust love one more time and ALWAYS one more time. “ - Maya Angelou

This was such a fabulous story!! I could not put it down for hours!! Sometimes a book just speaks to you loud and clear… and this one definitely did.
It's amazing to me how the characters and story seem so unbelievably real! I wish they were real… I would love to be friends with them!!
In this book, we meet two Broken souls, Brooke and Kyle. . Who in my opinion, aren't really broken, just bent a little bit. They both have a tortured past they would like to forget. Something has happened to both of them to make them swear off relationships and dating.
Brooke is a strong, independent and a beautiful single mother. Mia is her pride and joy. She never knew what love was until she had her daughter. She has a past she is not proud of. And because of that , she limits her interaction with people. Unless it's family, she doesn't have much to do with them.
Kyle is a family oriented, sexy, strong and fiercely independent man. Family means everything to him. He will take the shirt off his back to help any family member. He has a past he doesn't like to talk about. He shuts that part out of his life. He talks about it to no one… it's just too painful for him.
Together they form this quiet and innocent friendship. Doing just little things together. Involving Kyle’s nephew, Ryder ,(who he loves and adores to pieces) and Mia on playdates. Being neighbors, they see each other quite a bit.
They understand one another. They know that they each have a past they don't like to discuss. But they have an understanding… that they'll talk about it, when they are ready.
Slowly and I mean ever so slowly…things turn into more than just a friendship. Can they both move forward from their past and give love a chance? Or will some devastating news tear them apart ?
Sometimes, love DOES truly conquer all!!
I can not say enough wonderful things about this book!! I just love it sooo much!! This story touched me for so many different reasons, it's even hard to begin to express in words. Outstanding job… keep up the great work!! I truly can not wait to read some more from you!! xxx

Beyond Repair by Kelly Lincoln is spell bounding. As a new author for me I must say she created a brilliant and believable story. This book did not disappoint. I would give the book a 5 out of 5 stars for exceptional writing. Kelly takes a difficult subject and makes it palpable for the reader. Never have I seen such words woven so intricately.
What happens when two devastated people who have given up on love find each other? Can they help each other restore all the broken pieces and break through the walls they have built? Will the trust issues cause them to push each other away? More is at stake the second time, around right?
Brooke loves her 3-year-old daughter Mia with all of her being. The subject of Mia’s father or how she was conceived is something Brooke has tried to forget and has kept from everyone except her sister Zoey. Even Brooke’s parents don’t know the truth about their granddaughter. Plagued with panic attacks and an unhealthy obsession with anti-bacterial hand soap Brooke has never truly dealt with that fateful night Zoey has tried to get her to date but Brooke simply isn’t interested. She believes she is fine on her own. That is until the sexy new neighbor moves in next door.

Chris long-time friends with Brooke’s brother in law Kyle buys the condo off the pair when he moves back into town. Chris has his own personal scars and broken pieces. Convinced he will never give someone the opportunity to hurt him again. Chloe was getting her hopes up for some match-making when Kyle tells Zoey and Brooke that Chris is totally off the market after a terrible break-up. Will they be just neighbors? Or is there something between Brooke and Chris that grows with each passing day?

I enjoyed this book. This was a hopeful story and it made me believe that no one is Beyond Repair. This is a story of love, faith, hope and family. Tears will be shred when you read this. It’s just that good.
Kelly Lincoln has written a true romance that felt utterly real. I dove right into understanding the characters and their depth. From the first chapter I was hooked and read the entire book in one sitting. This book will pull at your heart strings in all the right moments. I recommend this book.

This is my first novel by Kelly Lincoln, and I love discovering new authors. Just from this novel I can tell you she will have such an amazing career. This book included everything! So many emotions swirled through me throughout the entire story, I cried and laughed, and felt so many more. This story does include flashbacks of a rape, and includes some triggers, just putting that out there. It does take the heroine some time to deal with her emotions and the aftermath of the rape, its completely understandable.

Brooke has her whole life ahead of her, she's good at everything she does, she's completely head over heels with the perfect guy. Until the perfect guy turns out to be not so perfect when he publicly dumps her. She is still reeling from the break up when tragedy strikes, and she shuts herself off to everything. Fast forward some, and now Brooke is a single mother, who does everything she can to keep herself shut off from everyone. Brooke's older sister Zoey and her husband Kyle try to get Brooke back into the dating game but Brooke is not having it. Why would she want to date anyone after what happened to her? She was still having panic attacks, and wants no part of dating. Her main focus is Mia, and keeping Mia's father away from her.

Enter the main man Chris, he is such an amazing character, even though he has his own unlucky love story, it makes me cynical, even if he has valid reasons. He flips houses for a living and is finishing up with his last remodel when his friend Kyle calls about moving into his old place, and he jumps at the chance. It puts him a whole lot closer to Brooke. Chris is an amazing uncle to his nephew Ryder, who happens to form a great relationship with Mia. Chris begins to have strong feelings for Brooke, and loves being around Mia and spending time with her.

Even though their feelings are mutual, they each have a past that needs to be dealt with. They need to come clean about everything before it's too late. Can they survive their pasts? Will Brooke be able to open up to Chris? Will Chris be able to open up to Brooke?

I literally could not put this book down! It packs a mean punch, and delivers on all levels!

5 star review
I really enjoyed Beyond Repair by Kelly Lincoln. It’s definitely one of those books that will drag you in as soon as you start reading it. I thought that it was really well written, had a good strong story line, flowed well and had a great set of characters.
The story is about single mom Brooke. 5 years ago Brooke had everything she wanted until it disappeared in the blink of an eye. As she was grieving for the loss of her perfect future fate intervened. Brooke found herself having to move on, there was no choice in it for her personally and she now finds herself with more money than she knows what to do with. But along with that money come panic attacks that she has to deal with and a fear that her daughter Mia will be taken away from her. Brooke is happy to stay concealed from the world with just her close family and Mia – that is until Chris moves in next door.
I really took these characters into my heart. I felt for Brooke, she tried so hard to move on from her past and it was pretty clear how this still affected her everyday life. She was very jumpy and she was constantly waiting for her past to catch up with her one day. I loved how she eventually let Chris in and allowed him to help her realise that she could have a happy future.
Chris was just a sweetheart. He was so kind and considerate of Brooke and her past and when she finally opened up to him about what happened his reaction was so sweet. I loved the bond he built with Mia. It was really lovely to read about how two people who think that they are beyond repair help heal each other.
There is one character that I cannot fail to mention and that is little Mia. There is no way that anyone can read this book and not have that little girl completely capture your heart! She was so adorable. For a 4 year she faced any problems that came her way with such bravery.
I really did enjoy this book – it does contain some sensitive e issues that may be a trigger for some readers but I cannot fault how well written about they were. I could definitely imagine this book as a film!
A really great story that I definitely recommend. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I've never had one story, just about 30 chapters, make me feel so many emotions! I would be swooning over Chris and his gorgeous abs and melting over the emotional relationship building between him and Brooke... then the next thing I know, I'm having an anxiety attack right alongside Brooke, or screaming mad, or just plain bawling my eyes out. This book took me on a roller coaster, much like every day life tends to do. It is such an incredible story of two broken people learning to love again when everything from their past is making them question every decision they are making.

I really enjoyed the organic and emotionally charged relationship between Brooke and Chris - they both entered the story as broken people and by the end, they found solace in not having to deal with life's hard parts all alone. My heart broke into a million pieces about halfway through, but Kelly Lincoln did a great job of putting all those pieces back together again. I don't want to give anything away, but the story builds to a scary climax, then ends well. Just like all books should, in my personal and biased opinion!

You feel like you really get to know Brooke deep down in this story - who she is, why she is how she is, and I loved her relationship with her sister & brother-in-law. They are so supportive of her, while still pushing her to move on with her life and to get past all the negative weight that's been holding her down for years. Congrats to Kelly Lincoln for writing this book in such a way that we understand Brooke so deeply.

To me, this story was about overcoming fears and expectations. It's about learning to love again, to be vulnerable again. Brooke and Chris had to allow themselves to find the happiness literally living next door, when all the odds were against them. It's all about hope, and for many women, the will to survive. A beautiful story of stealing back your joy and gaining the strength you need to move on and live life to it's fullest.

Beyond Repair by Kelly Lincoln is a book about two souls that are each broken believing they are beyond repair, at least in their own eyes.

Brooke is a single parent living to provide the best life possible for her daughter, Mia. She doesn’t do relationships; her focus is her family and Mia. However, her past has caused her to be a shadow of her former self – no longer social, but more withdrawn. Chris has his own past that has pushed the idea that he needs to be alone, not allowing another person to get close to him.

Brooke & Chris are now neighbors and an unlikely friendship forms. From there, more develops and they each begin to find something they thought they could never have. Something they deeply wanted, but thought was lost. Brooke is worried her past will destroy her chance for the future she desires. How far are they each willing to go to fight for what they ultimately want and deserve?

Kelly Lincoln is a powerful storyteller in Beyond Repair. Her book touches on sensitive topics, but just in the right way. No matter how they occur, there is no perfect way to address or combat. I believe the way that Kelly addresses them within this book was magnificent woven intermittently around the rest of the story.

I felt that Brooke was a strong individual despite her unique habits. With the hand she was dealt years ago, she made the choices she needed to. She may feel that she is weak, but that’s not the face she necessarily shows to others. Chris held my heart throughout most of this book. Who can resist a hot & attractive neighbor, especially when he seems to just know?!

This was a truly great book and I walked away glad that I read this and now looking forward to reading other books by this author if the writing is anything like what I read within this story.

Beyond Repair by Kelly Lincoln and explosive Five-Star read. This book comes with the warning that it contains explicit language, graphic sexual content, and sensitive topics that may be triggers to some readers, so reader discretion is advised. It should Also come with a tissue warning, that it won’t cause not pretty tears but dammed ugly ones, as this book had me crying not buckets but rivers, despite all the tears its possibly the best book I have read this year. The author deals with several topics that you don’t come across very often, one of which I have dealt with for many years, and she deals with everything so well, the research that has gone into this book shows, its detailed and real and so much better for it.
This book focuses on Brooke, a twenty something who has more money than she knows what to do with, but she proves the rule that money isn’t everything. Brooke spends most of her days looking over her shoulder and having panic attacks when she does go out, hiding from the world and keeping a secret that she feels is shameful, only sharing the problem with her sister, not feeling like she can invite anyone in, it’s a lonely life but for the only brightness, her daughter Mia. Mia is a great child; she is proof that no matter what problems your parents have and what you face you can come out of the other side and still be a princess.
Brooke is happy in her secluded little world, until Chris moves next door, Mia meets his nephew Ryder and then all hell breaks loose, Mia has a little girl crush on Ryder Chris’ nephew and her mum has a big girl crush on his uncle, especially when she sees him returning home from a run shirtless. Chris comes with his own set of problems; can they help each other overcome their problems or will they be too much for the other to bare? Will revenge be a dish best served cold, or will they warm it up for each other?

This story starts with a woman named Brooke who is a single mother bound and determined to make it on her own. She has her family but no friends and she suffers from panic attacks. Brooke lives in a condo and her sister lives beside her with her husband and children. Her sister and her family have outgrown the small condo, so they are moving out. This makes Brooke extremely nervous because she lives in fear and is always looking over her shoulder afraid that her past will catch up to her. She is afraid of what this new person will be like and how it will affect her.

Brooke’s sister wants her to meet the new next door neighbor but she says she will just see him when she see’s him because she is fearful. Chris, the new neighbor went to school with Brooke’s brother in law. They meet and Brooke is very surprised, she has not been attracted to anyone in years and now this tall handsome man moves in next door. They start to bond over Brooke’s daughter Mia and Chris’ nephew having a play date. The more time they spend together the more Brooke realizes that this whole other part of her world has been missing. Brooke has a lot of issues that she needs to work through, she wonders if Chris will be strong enough to stick it out with her. Chris has his own past and things he must work out for himself. Both Brooke and Chris start to let the other one in, they promise to go slow in this new relationship until they are both comfortable.

Just when things are starting to look up and Chris is helping Brooke deal with her panic attacks the past comes seeping back in. Only this time Brooke will not have to stare her past in the face by herself. Is Chris strong enough to stand with Brooke and Mia and will Brooke let him?

Beyond Repair is more than just a romance novel. It is about love, loss, and second chances. It is the first book I've read by Kelly Lincoln, but it wont be the last. She does a great job building the charcter's story, including a past and present, and making you want to see what the future holds for them as well. While it does have the typical steamy love scenes, they do not dominate the book, and the story is a good one! I feel for Brooke, and fall in love with Chris right along with her. There are some twists in the story, some of which I honestly saw coming, while others had be thinking WTF?! Parts of the story also had me on the verge of tears. So thanks for the emotional roller coaster Kelly Lincoln! This book is a solid 5 star for me.
Brooke is a very closed off, strange woman, raising her daughter Mia on her own. Five years ago Brooke was raped, and she never coped with it. She now has trust issues, as well as OCD tendencies, which include using hand sanitizer any time she feels nervous. She doesnt have a social life, outside of her sister and her children who are next door neighbors. She hasnt dated anyone in years, and has no desire to. However her sister's family moves out, and their friend Chris moves into their house, leaving Brooke with some feelings she has avoided for years.
Chris is a great guy, but has had his heart broken, and has sworn off women. He works a lot, and spends time with his nephew regularly. This leads to him setting up a play date with his new neighbor Brooke and her daughter Mia. The kids hit it off immediately, and the adults hang out more and more, so the kids can play. Soon, Chris and Brooke develop feelings for each other, but they are both reserved. They must both get over their pasts, so they can get on with their future.

You know how you either have a friend or know someone that is really lovely and you just want them to meet someone because you know they deserve to be with someone equally as special. This book is a story about two people who meet and are just meant to be together, well in my opinion anyway :-)

Brooke lives a pretty closed off life, raising her daughter, working and pretty much keeping her head down. She is very close to her family but even they get excluded from her life when she wants to shut the world away. She is a dedicated mum to her gorgeous daughter Mia but she also carries a lot of guilt about what happened with Mia's father all those years ago.

A new neighbour moves in next door to Brooke and Mia. A very handsome and single neighbour. His name is Chris and he is so lovely. As soon as they met I wanted them to be together. Chris is definitely not looking for anything that even slightly resembles a relationship, this guy has been burnt and there is no way he is putting his heart on the line again.

Here's the thing though, how can he resist falling for not only Brooke but her beautiful, cute as a button daughter Mia. The cuteness factor in the interactions between Chris and Mia will melt the toughest heart, seriously it is so damn adorable.

The draw between Chris and Brooke is incredible and I love the slow build of their friendship as they slowly peel back the layers of their broken hearts and slowly piece each other back together. This was a really sweet story that left me with an overwhelming feeling of happy ever after.

'You're the most perfect thing I've ever felt in my life. Never... never like this before.' - Chris
