“Sizzling romance with heart and humor.”

Carol is an award-winning author of contemporary, small town romances with serious sizzle and usually a generous dose of southern charm. She enjoys a second-chance-at-love story with her husband of over forty years.

A native Texan, Carol's love of travel, coupled with a history of living in her share of small towns and metropolitan areas, gives her a broad range of settings to choose from. She admits that as long as she has her hubby and dogs with her and a generous supply of sweetened tea, she can write almost anywhere, even in their RV.

Writing as Annie Rayburn, she produces alternate reality, soft sci-fi and lite paranormal erotic romances featuring Crainesians, a humaoid race of people living here on Earth.

While Carol/Annie enjoys the adoration she receives from her three spoiled dogs, what she really loves is hearing from her readers. Visit her at www.CarolBurnside.com for excerpts, review snippits, news and more about her irresistible characters.

Happy reading!

Cute quick read, definitely a storyline I haven't come across yet which is always good with so many cookie-cutter romances these days. The only thing I'd really change is maybe a little less of filler in the middle and give us a bit more at the end. It seemed like quite a quick jump to the ending and then not even an epilogue. Just felt a bit like it wasn't completed.

I loved the cover the minute I saw this and the title made me go 'awwww'. I had to read this. I'm so glad I did. A sweet love story where life throws curve balls and sometimes dreams do change. The love scenes were steamy and tastefully done. The story line was wonderful and well thought out. I felt like I was there experiencing their troubles and joys right along with them.

Kate had her world turned upside down upon the deaths of the baby's family. She was compassionate yet tried to keep her distance so she didn't get hurt. Biologically the baby she carried wasn't hers, but nine months of care is harder to separate herself from than she would have expected.

Rio had a poor excuse for a father and he didn't want to emulate the man. Gaining a baby was something he'd never wanted or expected. His brother's death changed his world. A straight up honorable man that was worried he wouldn't be the best caretaker for the boy about to make his way into the world.

Nobody's Baby is a challenge from beginning to end for Kate and Rio. Life changes, dreams are given up and new ones born everyday and these two had to learn that before they found their happily ever after. It plucked at your heartstrings that this little one would never meet his parents that wanted him so much. I thoroughly enjoyed Nobody's Baby and will look for more from Carol Burnside.

What annoyed me most about this book, was the claim of the author at the end, that her book is an "independently published work that is professionally written, edited, designed and carefully formatted".
While the story was ok, there were several holes and inconsistencies and the editing, while not the worst I've ever encountered, wasn't professionel by a long shot. I don't think, there are any professionel editors, who don't know the difference between their and they're, overlook sentences, where beginning and end don't fit together and other maily minor mistakes.

3.5/5stars! I loved the story line and I've been wanting to read the book for a long long time. I really liked the story but then again I have a soft spot for books that revolve around lil tiny kiddies (and gosh the cover is absolutely adorable!) I didn't really like the heroine, though I did like Rio.And some parts really caused my allergies to play up (the allergic reaction where my eyes start watering and nose gets red and my heart feels like its shattering...u know the kind) The only negative that I might find apart from the heroine seeming a little annoying, is that the story seemed quite slow. I normally enjoy faster paced books. (not shorter but faster) Still a pretty good book and I hear some praises regarding a certain suitable wife by Carol Burnside so I'm off to go check it out.

Oh em geee!! Carol Burnside has done it again…

This is not the first book of Carol's I have read but it is definitely a favourite. I cried, I got angry and frustrated, I laughed and I cried some more.

What more can I say…

I'll probably read it again by the end of the weekend!!

Joyful

I loved this story. Sometimes when bad things happen nothing ends up happy. But in this the story tends to make sense. Two people tosses together by an unexpected situation. I loved it. I think the ending need more but it works.

This was an emotional ride. Not that I didn't expect it to be, I mean it's about a surrogate falling in love with "her" babies uncle/new guardian. So yeah, I cried a few times when it got emotional involving the baby.

Overall this short read was we everything I wanted it to be. I enjoyed the story and. It's characters. My only complaint was the ending seemed a bit rushed in comparison to the rest of the book. However I'm still completely happy with the end result.

Trigger Warnings;
Death of loved ones
Toxic parents
Surrogacy issues

Hmm.. I expected more from this book. Going in I figured things would work out and be predictable. And of course they were. There was a brief moment I thought something unexpected would happened, but sadly nothing interesting came from it. But, the predictability isn't even what I hated about the book. It was the relationship between Kate and Rio. Apparently it either had to be all in (marriage) or nothing at all. Which isn't the way the world works. Of course it ends the only way you'd expect in a happily ever after, but the fact that it was full speed ahead and just *BAM* there drove me crazy. Like, Who does that!? Not what I like to read...
