A solid three star. Additional one star is because of the epic bonus chapter.

Story kind of feels like it is dragging, it's barely moving at all.

This is the 3rd book now and the story and cast of characters has expanded. Thats a good thing, as now it's not solely about Smoke, readers get more of a insight into the Zactas world and secondary characters. Characters are getting their own mini arcs weaved between those of Smoke and the wearbare. I also really enjoyed the parts about the other big players in the game world. Though brief it's very telling and setting up something big. The world of Smoke and others is weaving a tale that's entertaining and neat. The author has really fleshed out the world taking things and skills from RPG's and putting his own spin on it. The combat is mostly better leaving more to description and less to damage counters that plagued the first book. There are some but it's used sparingly and tastefully. My only complaint is how encounters and fights end, literally almost every enemy is finished by decapitation. The book explains this by stating some bs about damage bonus, but it gets old fast. I wish some just died to keep the combat from ending so similar. The rest of the book I enjoyed especially Smoke learning new skills. I will be getting book 4 when released. I would have liked to rate this a bit higher but the repetitive decapitations was annoying.

Poorly written/translated

The poor English and lack of imagination in the naming of monsters etc. Make this a difficult read, while the plot mainly manages to flow forward there are places you just want to skip or even put the book away, for some reason I finished it anyway,
Overpriced

While it had its positives I had trouble accepting the ease at which the MC learns new abilities and stays in shape
