Well this caught my eye and as I love the idea of dragons I couldn't resist. Now I confess I don't particularly associate Japan particularly with dragons as I tend to think of them as more Chinese in origin nevertheless I decided to read this book. I now realise that this was previously a serial but for me this worked well as an uber quick read. Plus buying serials as individual books can often prove expensive.
This is essentially a sweet coming of age love story. Our heroine Skye has just moved from Texas to New York to pursue her studies in New York and right from the start she is struggling to fit in. This country girl has never experienced the violent underbelly of a city where mugging is almost common place. Skye can't believe her eyes when she sees an attack on her first night but what really amazes her is a vigilante who controls fire! Things quickly escalate when next day Skye meets Daiki, he's sexy and sparks quickly fly between them. Oh yes Daiki has a secret but it's not one that scares off Skye. I'd like to say it's plain sailing but Daiki is being hunted and New York might not be safe much longer.
I found this far too short but very easy to read. They clearly feel a connection but I really wanted just a little more. I do believe that this charming couple will get a happy ending although the author cunningly leaves that to the readers imagination

Skye decided that New York can fulfill her dreams of becoming an artist. She thought NYC had a lot to offer and that she was safe in her new living quarters. But her hopes were dashed on the first night in her apartment. She witnessed a mugger getting burned by a masked man. The next day, on the first day at school, she was told by their professor that art these days can be done through Photoshop and softwares. Ugh. And then she met an Asian man kind enough to cook for her. And a dashing young man named Daiki. And then there's mugging again, for three days in a row. How lucky could she get?
This was quite a read, a little hilarious if you ask me. But it lacks a lot of story. I wanted to know more about Daiki and his shifting abilities. I want to know the history of the dragons. I want to learn about Skye and Ichiru and Daiki. I wanted more. I guess I'll need to read the next book so that all my queries will be rightfully answered. Overall, I enjoyed reading this book.

Short but sweet. I liked it but was bummed I couldn't find the next book in the kindle store. I'll try B&N most likely at some point as I'm intrigued enough to want to read more! 3.75/5 stars.

Short and sweet. As the beginning of a series, the story showed potential. Complete in its own right.

I received a copy of this book directly from the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review.
I honestly don’t know what I was thinking when I picked this novella up. I was asked to give it a review, and I thought “why not, I’ve never read a dragon romance before!” What ensued, was a very strange 15-30 minutes where my face was continually stuck in “WTF” mode. Even now, I’m still kind of laughing at the absurdity.
Here’s the thing… the description, the tags on GoodReads, and the very title on both GoodReads and amazon (BBW Ménage) are a lie. This is not a ménage. There is no evidence of anything BBW. The cover shows a disproportionate Asian guy with feathery wings—but let’s be clear, the man in the novella actually has bat wings—and in no way does the main character, Skye, ever try to fight her growing attraction for Raiku.
What this book is, is a very short 33 page encounter between a naïve country bumpkin from Texas (who couldn’t be more stereotypical. I live in Texas, and no one talks like her or dresses like her here.) and a very quiet and somewhat shy ‘shifter’ whose only claim to being remotely dragon-like is his ability to produce fire with his hands and a set of bat wings. He does not actually turn into a dragon. The novella is incredibly short and very sweet, but to be honest, it has its problems.
There were a few typos—too many for something this short, and a lot of stereotypes were used. The characters were pretty one dimensional and sweet as cotton candy in a dumb-blonde sort of way. The “romance” between the two main characters was kind of endearing… but wasn’t very substantial. The events in the novella span about three days, so the characters barely know each other, and while drawn to one another, I don’t know if I’d call it a true “romance”. Unfortunately, it wasn’t really an “erotica” either. The story ends in the shortest dry-hump “sex” scene I’ve ever read. I don’t even really consider what the characters did sex. They were like two virgin teens playing at sex and failing miserably.
That isn’t to say the story was all bad, though. Despite its many flaws, I actually kind of liked it. Though the characters had all the depth of a puddle, they were adorable together in a shy “let's hold hands and smile” sort of way. I liked them. Also, despite the time jumps and location switches (as has to happen in all shorter fiction) I didn’t feel like the story was rushed. It felt like a complete encounter from beginning to end. The writing wasn’t bad… it just wasn’t great.
Overall, I liked the story, but at the same time, it had a lot of flaws. More importantly, it is not what it is advertised to be. I give this one three stars. It was okay. It made 15-20 minutes of my life more interesting, and I’m glad to have gotten a taste of the author’s writing style. Were this a longer, more fleshed out book, I think I probably would have liked it a lot more… there’s just only so much you can do in 33 pages. If you’re looking for a kind of a fun read to pick up while you’re waiting in a doctor’s office somewhere, and you aren’t particularly looking for something steamy, give this a try. If you’re looking for a steamy erotica or in-depth romance, you may want to keep looking.

This is part one of a serial. I had a chance to read it in exchange for an honest review. This is the story of a country girl who comes to the city and encounters a shifter. Skye is on her own for the first time and witnesses a masked man stop a mugging. Daiki is a dragon shifter who is hiding from hunters but cannot stop himself from helping people. I loved his willingness to risk exposure so that he can help others. The attraction between Daiki and Skye is instant. They call it a link and it is strong and forever.
This was a good quick story and I will read the rest in the boxed set.

This is a very short novella of about 30 pages or so. It's more of an introduction to the the characters then the description would have you think. Going in I thought it would be a full short story but it left off not with a cliffhanger but with a sense of "where is the story"? It was cute for a start and I could see where the author was building with it however I would have liked to see more instead of another full book at the end. This book is for mature audiences only and I am giving this book 3 Hearts. I am an independent reviewer for Romance Authors That Rock.

I got this in exchange of an honest review, I love shifters a lot and this one was amazing I love dragon shifters they amazing ones and I liked the plot the flow was perfect as for the characters they were amazing I loved their connections interactions the sparks between each one was wonderful so was the action I hope to see more of his and Wild is a great author

Short novella about a girl who moves from Texas to NYC to go to art school and runs into a dragon shifter. A good start, but I really wish the whole book was in one instead of a series of short novellas. Enjoy.

There are twenty hours of reading in this book. good for night time reading (at least in the book I have from Amazon) to settle down to after a long day and just enjoy the evening.

what an interesting take on dragonshifters. I really enjoyed the fresh out look of this author. The interactions of the characters where believable for such a short story.
