I love this series from the beginning to the end. There are so many adversities that these characters over come. Raine is a beautiful character who seems to have the perfect life until Torin St. James knocks on her door. She soon realizes so much is different that she never knew about her family and friends. You will love being introduced to all of the characters as well as the many Norse God tales. Grimnirs is a great book that has all of the people from the first two but it is told from Cora's PIV and you get to meet the handsome Echo. These books are amazing and a great price for all three!

Paranormal romance times three

This is a boxed set of the first three books in this series. Each follows a couple falling in love under abnormal circumstances. Paranormal beings from Norse mythology...From gods and goddesses, to Mortals to Immortals, to Valkyries to Grimnirs...all play a part in this trilogy.

Lots of teenage angst and drama...and also lots of smirks and typos. If I had a nickel for every time that word or some derivation...

An amazing bundle! I love this series, and the first three are especially great stories that are sure to pull you in. Ednah Walters does an amazing job at keeping her characters unique, interesting and complex, while providing new, exciting, surprising and amazingly imaginative plots throughout the series. Okay, my thoughts from each book.....

Runes: This is the first in one of my favourite YA paranormal series. Raine is a typical girl-next-door; pretty, good athlete, cute boyfriend Eirik, spunky best friend Cora, but her life starts to spiral when her father's airplane mysteriously disappears, her mother is hiding something and the new hotty mchotness next door doesn't seem to be quite normal. In fact, the more Raine learns about Torin St James and his friends, the more she finds that Norse mythology may not be so mythological. I very much enjoy Ednah Walters' take on ancient viking characters and of course who doesn't love the dangerous, mysterious, but oh-so-sweet bad boy sweeping in and twisting a girl's reality around in the most confusingly delicious way possible? The beginning is a little slow, but the action picks up rapidly and it's a quick read til the cliffhanger that will have you grabbing for the next part of Raine's story!

Immortals: Even evil norns couldn't keep me away from quickly grabbing the second book in this unique and well-written series after finishing Runes, and I was not disappointed. Ednah Walters has snagged me with another spell-binding tale of magic, mythology-come-to-life action, self-discovery, and of course romance. Although I nearly threw my kindle across the room at the unexpected twist between Hot Stuff Torin and the spunky Raine, I kept reading because you can't not fall in love with these characters and hope for the best for them. With so much going on in the plot--the Raine and Torin drama, Raine's own development, and the evil coming for her friend Eirik--combined with the new discoveries presented about their world, and Raine's kick-ass, go-get-'em attitude, you won't be able to stop turning pages and ignoring your actual life. (Or rather, wishing that Raine's life was your actual life, if nothing else but to actually meet Torin St. James)! I love Ednah's imagination; I'm an avid paranormal/sci-fi/YA reader and quite easily jaded at the continuous re-telling of plots, but this series' Scandinavian mythological/fantastical world is fresh, very well thought-out, and beautifully presented! Having now read the whole series, I think this book is still my favorite, because there's so much anticipation and surprises about the Valkyrie world. If you haven't read Runes, quickly go read it now, but have this one ready to go, because once you're a wanna-be-Valkyrie (and that will happen within a few chapters), Hel won't be able to stop you from inhaling all that Ednah gifts us with!

Grimnirs: As if Ednah Walters' Norse mythology-meets-high-school world wasn't exciting enough with the love-and-trials of Raine and Torin, we now get to pine over the different, but also super hot Echo. In this tale, the POV is no longer Raine, but her best friend with attitude and spunk, Cora. We start to learn a little more about the hardships she's experienced being inadvertently involved with Raine's world. There is a lot of baggage in this one, so be prepared for all the feels. Cora's story is a hard one with struggle to overcome depression, mental health (self-questioning, in a much deeper sense than most YA books normally handle), confidence, and self-worth. That said, grimnir Echo is an over-confident bad boy full of humorous one-liners and sexy comments, and of course even with the inner termoil, Cora is always snort-out-loud sassy and stands up for herself and those she loves. I enjoyed seeing her get thrown off a bit by a boy for once and the plot, as with the other Runes novels, is full of intrigue, evil, romance, and surprises. The complexity to Ednah's characters are the perfect complement to her never-ending supply of imaginative plot-lines. "Grimnirs" is great, fresh offshoot to Runes and Immortals, but similarly leaves you wanting more!

RUNES (Book 1)

RUNES represents a refreshing twist away from a genre flooded with fallen angels, vampires, werewolves and zombies. I will be the first to admit that I am sorely uneducated in Norse mythology. That leaves me trying to play catch-up in a story that is a unique and interesting read.

What would I do if I finally got everything I thought I wanted only to find that it isn’t what I really wanted at all? At the same time, I learn that ‘magic’ is real, and I find myself drawn into a whole new world I never knew existed. These are the things I consider while reading through this book.

The premise is spellbinding and Walters is a great storyteller. This is a very interesting book with likable characters that develop slowly throughout. This is a journey from childhood memories to the sacrifices people make for the ones that they love.

One thing that I notice throughout the story is that there is a lot of give and take. For every positive occurrence it seems there is a corresponding negative occurrence or outcome. It seems to affirm that there is a balance to life and destiny.

Toward the end of the book, there are some surprising twists and very important information is revealed. I am looking forward to following their further development in book two of the Runes Series. I definitely need to increase my understanding of Norse mythology before then

IMMORTALS (Book 2)

If you look closely at the story of IMMORTALS, you will find many plot lines that relate to your everyday life. With a little thought, you will see that Walters has woven the paranormal into very human concepts. The result is a story that will engage any reader.

Love and heartache, friendship and betrayal, high school drama, and grown up problems. All of these characters show growth, more complexity, and become closer to their destiny.

Walters has taken all of these topics and infused them with the supernatural creating a story that is both fantasy and reality. You will find yourself immersed in a book that will capture you and hold you until the very end. I recommend that you familiarize yourself with Norse mythology before you sit down to read IMMORTALS. It will enhance your reading experience.

GRIMNIRS (Book 3)

GRIMNIRS is a refreshing look, at the Runes ongoing saga, through Cora’s eyes. Her point of view is well delivered, from confusion over seemingly being in two places at once through learning to trust again and falling in love. Walters does an excellent job conveying a plausible inner, as well as character, dialogue. Learning more about Cora (her family life, her friendships and her capacity to love) adds another layer to the Runes Series.

I really like Echo, the newest main character introduced. I like his well-developed backstory and really enjoy his evolution throughout the story.

I find GRIMNIRS to be entertaining and very well-written. I recommend this book (in fact, the entire series so far) to anyone who enjoys stories in the new adult, paranormal, romance genres.

Book 1 - Raine is your typical teenager...she's on the swim team and has some really good friends. Her life is turned upside down when her father's plan goes missing and then a new neighbor arrives. After that nothing is normal, she is seeing markings on things and seeing things that others aren't. She then learns that the Runes were put there and that her life is not as normal as she thought.

I absoultey fell in love with this book and the characters. They are all very interesting and you just don't know who to love, hate, trust or distrust ;) I loved the mythology aspect of the story and how that was incorporated in and how well the story seemed to flow. Raine is such an easy girl to fall in love with and of course one can't help but fall in love with Torin!

Book 2 - Immortals is the second in a series (The first being Runes). This series has had me from the beginning and I couldn't wait to read more about Raine and Torin. Raine has finally accepted who/what she is but she has also lost Torin as his memories were taken from him. Raine is a determined girl and will not let this stop her, she is going to find a way to make him remember her.

Ednah's writing is amazing. I love how she incorporates Norse gods into the story and everything runs so smoothly together. The characters are well written and you can't help but fall in love with :)

Book 3 - This story was amazing!! We get introduced to Cora, Raine's best friend and Echo, a Reaper. After the accident at the swim meet, Cora has started seeing Souls. Not sure how to handle this or what is wrong with her she starts to feel alone (Erik is gone, Raine is with Torin) and in walks Echo...talk dark and handsome :) someone who will help her with the souls

The journey has just begun!!

I have just recently found Ednah and I am hooked!! Her writing style is amazing and after each book I am left wanting to know more...The characters are so well written that you can picture them perfectly and easily pick your favorites out. The story line is well written and I found myself getting sucked into their world.

Runes

Re ~read for a review/refresh and fun!

Since I last read this book nothing has changed, its still the nail biting hold onto your seat while screaming why kind of book! Every page was like reading it for the first time all over again. The only thing I would change (If I could) is the rating (this book clearly deserves a more higher rating than 5 stars!)

I'm sat here trying to think of a way to explain why I loved this book ... Its harder than it sounds lol. I loved everything. Ednah Walters writing style is flawless combine that with a fast paced storyline, and a sexy mysterious guy next door you have a book that you will not want to put down..

WARNING ***
There is a cliff hanger.. I had to re read the last few lines over to make sure I read it right.. With an ending like that how can I not want to read more? Yup safe to say Runes left me begging for more!

Runes is a recommended read from me for all paranormal lovers it will not disappoint.

Immortals (Runes book 2)
After putting down Runes, I was heartbroken for Raine. I had no idea what Immortals had in store for us. Was it the end of the lovable characters? This book took me right down memory lane, pointing out the reasons why I fell in love with Torin St James in the first place .. I think even Andris is growing on me!

I'm am glad to say this was just the beginning of one Hel of a ride. With Twists and revelations it did not disappoint.

Grimnirs
Love, love, LOVE Cora and Echo! This was just an awesome read. I'm glad that Cora got her own story I love her character.

For me in this book, Eirik had changed.. ALOT not just the way he was but everything.. he's just a bad ass now and to be honest I'm really happy that Cora didn't choose him. Echo is her match. When I first read Runes.. I thought Torin was for me but Ednah has totally outdone herself with Echo!

Great first 3 books.

If you don't know if you are interested, the first book, Runes, is listed for free.

The first two books follow Raine and Torin as Raine discovers the world of valkyries, gods, and norns. Their epic romance is entrancing and wonderful. Raine grows from being an ordinary Mortal to someone who kicks butt in her own right. The end of Runes and through a good chunck of Immortals, my heart was breaking as Raine and Torin struggled, but their reunion was more than worth it.

The third book, Grimnirs, picks up where Immortals left off. Instead of Raine, this book follows Cora's perspective and her romance. Being Raine's BFF, it of course has events that include them, just not from their POV. I am trying to avoid spoilers, so I can't really go into much detail here.

I can't make up my mind which couple I like most. I love both of them!

*A warning to parents or anyone who may be squeamish about intimate scenes, Cora's relationship burns a lot hotter than Raine's, so there may be content in Grimnirs you are not comfortable with. If that is the case, you may want to skip to the clean version at the end of the boxed set. The table of contents only shows Grimnirs once but the clean version starts at about 76% of the book. I would suggest going to 77% and backing up since there are several pages for each % and the end of the other version of the story.

Runes is a new and refreshing story of a teenage girl and her involvement with Valkyries and Norns. This book had me hooked from the first page. Raine is a strong, independent girl who becomes torn between her best friend whom she has loved for a long time and her new neighbor, the hot sexy man who is always around to help her. The ending of this book leaves you wanting more!! For a YA paranormal romance I gladly recommend Runes, by Ednah Walters. I’m looking forward to the next books in the series.

Wow, Ednah Walters doesn’t disappoint with her second installment of her Runes series – “Immortals”. There is so much you learn about the Norse Gods, and the darkness that falls over one of Raine’s friends throughout this book. The relationship between Torin and Raine is magically and sweet. There are plenty of “swoon” worthy scenes for you to fall more in love with Torin and Raine as a reader. Don’t miss this exciting paranormal romance.

I’m looking forward to reading Grimnirs! I will update my review when I have completed the book. I can’t wait to start reading.

Great books!!

These books have got me loving some Norse Mythology. Runes is from Raines POV and shows how strong this is. she has to make very hard choices. I love how Raines and Torin try to fight their attraction to each other but in the realize it's useless to fight it.
In Immortals we are shown how much To run means to Raines because she never gives up getting him back when the Norns erase his memory of her.

In Grimnirs we switch over to Cora's POV. At first I didn't think I would like the book the same as the ones from Raine's POV but boy was I wrong. I absolutely loved this book. I collect enough of Echo. I'm a sucker for the suspected bad boy in the group. They always suprise us with how sheet they can be. I'm ready for the next one.

This is such a wonderful fantasy series that shows us worlds that could exist inside of our own. The characters are believable and the story lines are exciting. Raine, Cora and Eirik are all characters whose stories begin a students who could be sitting in class with us, but end up being so much more and taking us on a ride that can be frightening at times and fun at others. They're all friends with each other and have their own individual stories that tie into each other's. The series is gripping and fantastic, and the author truly knows how to capture our minds and our spirits.
