Master's Saga #1

Masters for Hire

Rate this book
By all appearances, Coralie Cabot seems to have it all. Pedigree? Check. Money? Check. The right boyfriend, a ‘nice’ guy hand-picked by her father? Check. Everything is going along according to plan.

There’s only one problem.

It’s not her plan.

Coralie’s safe, predictable life has all but been decided for her, and that leaves her itching to take a walk on the wild side.

Enter Devlin Masters, an elite male escort whose sole purpose is giving Coralie whatever her heart desires. As though he knows her down to her core, Devlin says and does all the right things—far better than her so-called Mr. Right back home. Hello, Mr. Wrong!

For a price, she can sow her wilder oats with this sexy ‘bad boy,’ no strings attached.

Pretty soon the question isn’t, “Should a good girl have sex with a naughty hottie for hire . . .”

It’s, “Will she ever want to stop?”

In Book One of a sizzling new saga from author Ginger Voight, MASTERS FOR HIRE blurs the line between fantasy and reality with all the drama, angst, sex, and romance that made THE GROUPIE and FULLERTON FAMILY SAGAS beloved amongst her fans.

Intended for readers 18+ for graphic sexual content.

Ginger Voight is a screenwriter and bestselling author with over twenty published titles in fiction and nonfiction. She covers everything from travel to politics in nonfiction, as well as romance, paranormal, and dark, “ripped from the headlines” topics like Dirty Little Secrets.

Ginger discovered her love for writing in sixth grade, courtesy of a Halloween assignment. From then on, writing became a place of solace, reflection, and security. This was never more true than when she found herself homeless in L.A. at the age of nineteen. There, she wrote her first novel, longhand on notebook paper, while living out of her car.

In 1995, after she lost her nine-day-old son, she worked through her grief by writing the story that would eventually become The Fullerton Family Saga.

In 2011, she embarked on a new journey—to publish romance novels starring heroines who look more like the average American woman. These "Rubenesque" romances have developed a following thanks to her bestselling Groupie series. Other titles, such as the highly-rated New Adult series, Fierce, tap into the "reality-TV" preoccupation in American entertainment, which gives her contemporary stories a current, pop culture edge.

Known for writing gut-twisting angst, Ginger isn’t afraid to push the envelope with characters who are perfectly imperfect. Whether rich, poor, sweet, selfish, gay, straight, plus-size or svelte, her characters are beautifully flawed and three-dimensional. They populate her lavish fictional landscapes and teach us more about the real world in which we live simply through their interactions with each other. Ginger’s goal with every book is to give the reader a little bit more than they were expecting, told through stories they'll never forget.

“You know what you like. You know what you need. Take it. No shame, no apology.”

Sorry to say, but I am gonna be the minority here, this story didn't do anything for me. I was reading it, trying like hell to find a connection, something that could make me empathize, something that could make me cheer on the couple, but all I found was nothing. It was a series of events, comments and even the characters themselves that didn't work for me. It's pretty rare that I would get turned off by a book and I can't explicitly say what it is without giving away the book, so I'm just gonna leave it as that. I do encourage you to give it a try, you might have better luck finding that link that I tried searching for. Also it does end in a cliffhanger, so sadly I will not be picking up the next book... I should have taken the series literally when it said "saga".

It was so nice to have a plus-size, excuse me extended size female. Coralie/Cc's measurements are 46/34/44, and Devlin doesn't care a bit. They seriously burned up the sheets. Loved her BFF, Lucy. Now, how long do I have to wait for part 2?

Be warned if you don't like cheating once the H/h hook up, there is one in here. But he is a paid escort, so......

2.5 stars

My first impulse after finishing this novel was to rate 2 stars as I usually round down when I want to give half a star. I can't really say I enjoyed it. Most of the time I struggled to get through it and I found myself skimming whole passages. Then, I took a few minutes to ponder some more and came to this conclusion: technically, the book per se wasn't half bad. Nice writing (albeit very strangely formatted, though I figure that was just the ARC version I received), well characterized protagonists, a decent plot.
I'm just not into chick lit. I really couldn't care less about some privileged high-class chick's weight problems and her best friend's huge-ass wedding. I'm going to repeat my last status update on this book:
I feel like 50% of this book is spent dress shopping, talking about dress shopping or about what an ordeal it is for a plus size girl to go dress shopping. Another 25% is spent drinking champagne and hashtagging.
#Chicklitisnotforme

This sums up my feelings pretty well. I. Don't. Care.

There were things I liked in this book, though, hence the 2.5 stars. Devlin was a dirty-talking, alpha hottie, but a nice one. I loved him. CC had a few lucid moments aswell. The way she stood up against her father was cool. I liked Lucy, too, when she wasn't whining about her wedding. She and Gus together were totally sweet. The sexy scenes were well-written and pretty hot. The premise was intriguing - I seem to have a little thing for the escort/ callboy hero trope. Now and then, I even enjoyed the detailed descriptions of some of the dresses. Just not all the time and with every damn piece of clothing she lays her eyes on.

Which brings me to my dislikes. Too much description of clothes and surroundings! Repetitive writing (there were certain idioms that kept showing up - Devlin's 'hardening body' (what?); 'I/he/she couldn't ... if I/he/she wanted'; and, most annoyingly, CC's 'traffick-stopping tits'). The love story () - quite ridiculous, really. I hated all the hashtags. What was the point of that? And, of course, the whole chick lit-typical themes and tone.

All in all, this book just wasn't my cuppa.
Had I known this is chick lit, I wouldn't have requested it on NetGalley. But I guess you can't fault a genre for being what it is, so I tried to not let that influence my rating.

The story is about a rich girl who has worked really hard in order to make everyone happy without any result. So, for various reasons, she hires an escort with whom she fell in love with. The idea of the story is ok. The plot has no unexpected twists. It's pretty much straight forward. The writing is ok and the book is written from CC's POV.

CC is a rich girl who tries really hard to make everyone happy but it doesn't work. She is really insecure about her appearance and the expectations of her family doesn't help either. She is brilliant and easy going.

Devlin is a gigolo. He has his reasons for what he is doing for living. He was hired by CC for a night and then a week. I never understood his way of thinking or his feelings. I actually I never felt that I saw his really self. His work is to make the fantasy of each client reality!

And that was exactly my problem.....I had difficulties to believe him. For the most part of the book, I didn't trust him and I thought that he was just playing CC for his own reasons. The book didn't give any reason for why he fell for her, why she is so special to him. Suddenly he was in love! I really didn't get it and most of all I didn't feel it! The sex scenes were really hot and steamy. So there was a connection between them but that was his job.

I honestly don't know if that was the point of the author, I mean to leave a seed of doubt in the reader's mind, but that was the reason that I didn't enjoy this book.

The end was not a cliffhanger for me. It felt more like part 1 is done and part 2 is coming but no exciting open end. Unfortunately I won't be reading the next book as I couldn't enjoy this one.

2 stars for the writing...or I'm just glad it's over...I still have the next 2 to review :(

First off, I've never read a book with more hashtags in my life.

#YayMe

So I started reading this mistaking it for a Ginger Scott novel. Ms. Scott writes the kinda train wreck I like to read. I can't take it all the time but every few books of sugar-sweet, I want a slap across the face.

That said, I love the fucked up, it's my adrenaline rush. So I thought, Ms. Scott and escorts...I'm in. Then I discovered it was by a completely different author. (*face-of-shame*)

#Oops

But I decided, fuck it, it's still about an escort ;)

Then the h went on a multi-page rant about fashion and sizing. I hear ya, but I don't want that in my read. Not fucking pages of it. It could give a girl a complex when I'm too fucking happy to give a damn or have those issues. At least it's well written. (*shrugs*)

I got so fucking bored by the long-winded drivel that led up to the H/h meeting. 25% in before they communicate. And 29% before they meet. This story needed a scalpel.

So after they met, no OW clients were mentioned BEFORE the trip to Vegas...foreshadowing, bitches. The h realizes he might have had some, and freaks a little, but that doesn't stop her (obviously). He's costing her $25k for the week trip. But I gotta say, 3 orgasms on one elevator trip to the 27th floor is pretty fucking talented.

The H's seamstress sister certainly helped the h who spent the entire novel telling us she was too fat for clothes. But then that gets fucked up too. Jesus. The h was almost more unloveable than the escort fucking around on her.

Then they have a spat and separate on Vegas for LESS THAN 12 HOURS. And the H bangs another client. THAT we could've done without and was totally unnecessary. Meanwhile it's 67% in...too late in the book for my tastes.

Big ass spoiler ahead...he fucks the h again TWICE before telling her about his client. Mind you she booked him for the week. That made me livid. He's pissed with her and thinks she's just using him so he left. He also pretty obviously wants more than their current sex-for-cash arrangement when he comes back after their spat. So his behavior is just reprehensible.

He tells her he wants a relationship but it's "bad for business" and then he takes her to his mom in a nursing home. His stepdad was raping his sis, the mom walked in and the step beat her into unconsciousness. Considering his past with that first client, I can't believe his sincerity. I'm more inclined to believe he thinks he's found his meal ticket in the h. He's only been an escort as long as his mom was in a nursing home.

The H tells her he only fucked the OW because he needed the money to pay for his mom. What-the-fuck-ever. Meanwhile, the h was paying him $25k for the week...

Please. I have no heart strings to pluck over this bullshit.

She won't say jackshit to him but it's in her head space that he "had fucked someone else. On my time. On my dime." She feels fucking betrayed.

And when she finally says WTF is going to happen when the week is over, cuz she tells him she's in love with him. He gives her back her $25k minus agency fees and expects to keep fucking women while he dates her. This is when the escort plots lose me...because she JUST ACCEPTS IT. And her BFF encourages her to do this.

But that was all just drama, cuz by the time the book comes to a close the H never slept with another client and the H/h get their HEA. And a totally un-fucking-necessary CLIFFHANGER.

#KillMeNow #KMN

The h self shaming of her figure just ruined this more than the plot, though. BBW books generally leave me feeling like BBW can't be happy or find their empowerment until some man "fixes" them. I think I'll have to steer clear of this genre in the future.

All in all, the h did a great job of trying to keep their relationship straight in her head. It made her NOT appear TSTL and for that I was ever thankful.

In the end, this book was just...

#TooFuckingLong

I've decided I'm a glutton for punishment. On to the next book.

Quotes!!!
----
“His eyes were dazzling, striking a balance somewhere between deep green and the tawny color of straw.”

Pretty sure that's not humanly possible. WTF are they? LCD lights?
----
"Sisters before misters"

So much classier than chicks before dicks.
----
"prophylactic"

I "know" this word...but there was never a more unsexy word to use in a sex scene. (*shivers-in-horror*)
----
“The peridot is believed to be a magical stone, one that guards from negative thoughts and emotions. Simply put, it brings happiness, balance and good fortune to the wearer.”

Yeah....as long as all those negative thoughts and emotions are about MONEY (financial security/stability). Please don't rely on Google for knowledge outside your comfort zone.

3 'MASTERS' STARS

I've become a fan of Ginger Voight's writings ever since I read her Enticed series. I've never read her other series though, because they're just not my cup of tea. But Enticed is still one of my favorite series ever. It really pains me to rate this book less than 4 stars but after I evaluated everything, I just can't give it more than a 3.

"The whole thing started like things in my life started... in total chaos."

Coralie "CC" Cabot is very unhappy with her life. For starters, She was forced to be a nurturer at the very young age after her mother passed away. She's very used to taking care of others, living her life in the sidelines. She's about to inherit her family business but nothing she says is being heard -- her father treats her like an unfeeling robot. Her relationship with her handpicked pseudo boyfriend is lukewarm at best, and she's having a hard time finding outfits that are actually flattering for her curvy body.

"I want to be able to shop at my store and find clothes I like, to feel important and valued, like I matter. Like I count. I want my father to hear me when I tell him how important that is, not just for me but for all the customers we're losing because we think they're somehow beneath us. I want a boyfriend who, when I show up in a traffic-stopping dress, unwraps me like a present instead of talks my head off about business. Jesus!"

I really like CC. She's not afraid of standing up for herself and I like that she embrace her sexuality as a woman. Even so, like any other young woman out there, she has her own insecurities to deal with -- there are times where she'll feel good about herself and there are times, where she's just... "bleh."

"Come on. You're not fat."

I sent her a side glare. "Lucy please. I know what I am. And I'm okay with what I am. Fat isn't a fatal flaw to me. So I'm a little more padded, who cares?"

And then comes the Hero, Devlin Masters. After one persuasion after another, CC hired a male escort -- our Masters here -- to accompany her to a benefit. It's some sort of a fuck you to her father, if you will. It was supposed to be only for night. Sparks fly and everything escalated from there.

When her friend and her fiancee decided to elope to Vegas, she decided to hire Devlin again for company, for a full week. After that ..... began their whirlwind romance.

"I don't know. Isn't it weird? Paying for sex?"

"All a matter of perspective. A woman goes out with a man for six months, eats at all the finest restaurants, accepts all kinds of gifts from chocolate to jewelry, then she ends up rewarding him with sex, finally giving in to what he wants after she gets everything she wants. But if she gets the cash up front, she's a prostitute. In the end, the outcome was still the same. One is just a little more straightforward than the other one."

In just a few days, CC begins to fall in love with Devlin. Devlin is after all smooth as fuck. He makes her feel cherish, never once did he make her feel unworthy. Their sexual chemistry is also off the chart. She begins to question his sincerity. Is he really that smooth? Is it just a fantasy? Does he not feel the way she feels? And it doesn't help that she's surrounded by two people very much in love.

"[....] I never once begrudged her any happiness, but I felt a pang of jealousy that she had it all figured out already. [...] She never had to wonder if she'd ever find the one who would love her unconditionally, who would move heaven and earth to be with her, whose only priority in life was making her happy."

Here's where it gets tricky. While I connected with CC as a character, I cannot fully connect with Devlin Masters as a character and the idea of them together. Yes, Devlin does open up to her in the end, but I felt oddly disconnected with his character, I cannot feel him, get the sense of him at all. Devlin also immediately fall in love with CC which wasn't at all believable in my opinion. Yes, he says all the right word and they have great sexual chemistry, I won't deny that but love? That's quite a stretch.

"I'm yours and you're mine. We're all we've got Coralie, Tell me you know that."

"I love you. Every breath. Every heartbeat. It's all for you. I can't lose you. I won't."

Also the thing that made me really cringe was

Regardless of all that, I did enjoy reading this book. Ginger Voight is a great writer and it was fun being inside of CC's head. Will I read the next book? Heck yes.

"Devlin Masrers was mine now, every bit as much as I was his. And I was going to fight for him, even if that meant that I had to fight him to do it."

Loved it!

Ms. Voight made the unconventional heroine a star! In Masters for Hire, she wrapped a compelling story around two characters who'd likely never have met if not for one wanting to shake things up a bit. And that meeting created quite a stir!

Coralie Cabot doesn't fit the mold of society's ideal when it comes to her body and fashion which is a source of constant consternation for her and her father since the Cabot family owns the upscale Cabot's Department Store. Since she doesn't fit in body-wise, she makes an art out of fitting in - not making waves - everywhere else. When she decided she'd had enough of nice and acting on everyone else's wishes but her own, I cheered. Because Coralie is just like us, even if she is wealthy. She wants to feel good about herself...she wants to be liked and desired for who she is just as she is. And I think most of us can identify with that. So her character resonated strongly with me.

Devlin Masters is a high-priced escort. He knows just how to give his clients exactly what they want. And when Coralie hires him, he thinks it'll be business as usual. But she's different - makes him feel different. Suddenly it's feeling like anything but business as usual between them.

Masters for Hire is kinda like Pretty Woman in reverse. Devlin pulls at your heartstrings despite being paid to have a silver tongue. I, like Coralie, found myself drinking in his every word even though we both question them. And of course we're pulling for Coralie and Devlin because they both deserve happiness. Right? I won't lie though - the deck is stacked against them. It remains to be seen if the feelings that result from their whirlwind courtship can sustain them.

Ms. Voight surrounded Coralie and Devlin with a strong couple in Lucy and Gus. I love Lucy's brashness in particular. The other cast members have strong foundations and I look forward to seeing them better fleshed out.

A minor issue I had with the story is all the champagne drinking that occurred along with references to smoking pot. It's a minor complaint and it's not that I'm opposed to either of these things but it seemed immature and irresponsible - and not quite in character for Coralie. (Note: I read an ARC. This may have been changed and/or removed in the final edit.)

Overall, I'm once again impressed with Ms. Voight's storytelling. She masterfully weaves together a captivating story with characters to fall for and wraps in relevant social subtext. I'm eager to see how Coralie and Devlin make their relationship work. Bring it on, Ms. Voight!

The story is good enough.

She spent years to please her near and dear ones but when she hires an escort for fulfilling her desires, she found herself in love with him. The story is good but it starts after half of the book. It's time killing, wrongly formatted book with wastage of words.
If I had to write this story in an impressive way, it would be within 150 to 200 pages.
Though I received the book for free, I am disappointed with the time spent.

A sexy male dominant for hire is a fantasy come true. New to me author Ms. Voight pens an erotic tale of an escort turned lover. Coralie Cabot is a woman who has a good job. She is quite accomplished and things are going well except in her personal life. She is a bit on the "heavy" side as her father keeps telling her and her boyfriend is as interesting as paint drying on the walls. Being the good girl is getting Coralie nowhere. Wanting to kick start her life into a new phase, she lets her friend convince her to hire Devlin Masters. Devlin is an escort with a high price. He is smooth, suave and sexy. Whilst his price does not include sex, for a bonus, he will produce a boner. How raunchy, no?

The concept of this story is great and the execution is so good. This Sadie Hawkin's Pretty Woman plot works well because Devlin is no cheap hooker. The reasons why he is an escort is complicated. His back story tugs on the heart. Both Devlin and Coralie are well developed characters. They are realistic and easy to like. Their relationship is difficult not because they want it to be. It is because it mixes business and pleasure in a way that is not easy to separate. Ms. Voight does a nice job of showing this from the male's perspective whilst still keeping him dominant.

To be clear, this book is not kinky. It is an alpha male in a position that can be viewed as a lesser power. Instead, Devlin works it and the power balance nicely flows back and forth between the two characters. What I really liked is showing how Coralie's good intentions do not come across the way she intends. Because sometimes, people think money is the answer to fix all problems. It is not, but it definitely can help.

Coralie's character is well done. I like how she is self-confident with her abilities. Her slight image issue is more her father's asshat views than her having issues with her body. She knows what would look good on her and she fully recognizes there are different body shapes and sizes. I applauded when she stands up to her father's elitist attitude and tells him to stuff it. The characters in this book are what makes it so enjoyable. Recommended to romance readers who enjoy happily ever afters.

I am a wreck, as the book headed toward the ending I was terrified that something would go wrong....
wow.... # He is not your "average" hero, he is an escort, hired for a wedding...a 4 hour hook up. He says all the right things... touches..kisses.... everything is a dream true, our heroine is a poor little rich girl.... she has everything BUT in the end nothing that is HERS or happiness.... she finds her happy place trying to please her father who almost appears to hate her...she is a curvy girl a size 14-18 (depends the brand)she is the only child and you would think the heir apparent to her families brand. I was as terrified as she was , is it a role... does he care for her.... he is really...really good at his job.

Their second meeting is a week in Vegas as she tries to help her bf escape a nightmare bridezilla mother, it is everything she hopes and fears..... there is angst and drama and I confess what he does in the 60% area I hated him...no matter his excuse or reasoning I hated him and that one event took the book from 5 stars to 4.5.....I did not forgive nor forget...but his dominating at the end redeemed ALOT

The story is a continuing one, so it had a ending a sorta HEA...HFN...but I fear and yet anxiously await the next chapter...lol.#ILOVEANDHATEDEVLINMASTERS

Sweet, erotic, touching and so good. I love Ginger Voight's books and am thrilled with this new series. Coralie Cabot is from a wealthy family and expected to work in the family business, marry the man her father wants her to, and toe the line all the way down to what clothes she wears. Frustrated with her situation, she steps out of her comfort zone, which brings Devlin Masters into her life. He's sexy, exciting and shows her that life has more to offer than what she's settled for thus far. The characters are well written and so engaging that you can't help but be drawn into the story. This is not a cliffhanger and the next book in the series comes out on October 30th, so we don't have to wait long.

First, before I get into why I didn't like book, I will say I am reading the next book now. Why? Because it kept me interested. The couple had a beginning unlike others, he is a paid escort.

I didn't like that 75% of this book was thoughts and conversations about her size. We get it, we don't need it repeated over and over. Move on. There was too much immaturity, there were #hashtag comments in a BOOK.

I loved the author's Groupie series, I am hoping the last 2 books redeem this stinker (assuming I will read #3).

I have had this book in my to be read pile for almost two years. I wished I would have gotten to it sooner. I started it late last night and by 3:00 am I needed to go to bed. I finished it this morning and I was not disappointed. I was surprised, but no disappoints at all. Coralie Cabot is an extended size women and also works in her families clothing business. They do not offer any cloths in size and if they do they look like trash. Trying to get her father to see past the pre-world war two thinking that he is still in she continues to tell him of the market of women that they are missing out on, bit this goes on to deaf eyes. He would much rather her focus on marrying Oliver who only sees her as a means to the control of the company. Though they are supposed to be dating Oliver treats her as a second class person. For that her father does as well. Her friend Lucy suggests that she hire an escort as her date for the function that is coming up and that is when you meet Delvin Masters. A male escort, but also a man who makes her feel, beautiful, sexy, confidant, and powerful all in a matter of hours. He also makes her feel complete as women and that most of all has given her the power that she needs to stand up for herself. What happens next is for you the reader to enjoy and experience as I did with this wonderful story of two people finding themselves. Wonderful characters in Lucy, Darcy, Gus, to just name a few. I think her father sucks, and Oliver well I can’t say because it would not be nice. Though this is the first of three books, I did go on amazon and get the other two, so reviews will follow soon. A wonderful story and great scenes in the bedroom between the two main characters. I got this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 5 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com

Coreliee Cabot is born into a fashion dynasty. For 24 years she has been nothing but the doting daughter who has done everything for everyone else but her. With advice from her bff, Lucy, that changes. Derek Masters comes from nothing. He has tried to become something for his family, when all else falls, he becomes a gigolo for hire. Without spoiling too much of the plot, I'' end it here.

Found this book to be okay. couldn't help to route for Coreliee.

In love 😍

I’m new to Ginger and this book was recommended by someone in a FB group I’m in. Needless to say, I’m so freaking grateful! I couldn’t put this down. The ups and downs between the characters, the alpha persona of Devlin, the need for something more from CC, etc. makes you just want to keep reading. Want wait to see what is for come 🤩

Coralie Cabot comes from a very prominent Frech family, who happens to own a high end clothing store. Working as the marketing director, she struggles with her father (owner) who feels they they have specific image to uphold. Coralie does not fit into that image since she's not a size 2; Coralie is a plus size..or rather, an "extended size". She pleads with her father to carry clothing that's more appealing to larger women, rather than sticking them in clothing that appears frumpy/older than what they are. Her father is very traditional, and sees nothing wrong with their current trends. On top of this battle, Coralie has a specific mold she's supposed to fit in, and also marry into what would fit that mold. She's thrown into a 'relationship' with someone of her father's choosing as it would continue the family prominence. Coralie continues to allow everyone push her around as she's the gal that wants to please everyone to the expense of her own happiness. On a whim, and pressure from her best friend, she hires an escort to attend a fundraiser. The goal is for Coralie to get a night of pleasure, and fulfill some fantasies. She tries to build boundaries with Devlin knowing that it's all part of the fantasy that she's paid for. As Coralie then hires Devlin to attend her best friend's secret wedding in Vegas, they build a relationship from there.
Devlin Masters has worked as an escort for the past three years. No one truly knows why he's chosen this profession, as he keeps his personal life to himself (not even his family knows). When he's hired to fulfill Coralie's fantasy, he sees the woman she really is: does everything for everyone else at the expense of her own happiness. Her size is a turn-on, and he loves how she begins to accept her body rather than hide it. When he's hired to attend the wedding in Vegas, he is now on his turf (his family is in Vegas). He lets his guard down around Coralie, and allows her to see who he really is.
What I liked: she's not the typical skinny mini; Devlin rocks it.
What I didn't like: the whole size/daddy issue was exhausting. I found myself skippy pieces because I couldn't handle listening about how she can't find clothing/clothing too mature/etc.
I enjoyed the concept, although a bit unbelievable (really? not after her money)..but the two were good together. I liked the idea of seeing where things go, but really don't want to hear any more about how she can't find clothing to fit her properly.

Review
Where do I start….

Issues:
1) Is this really a woman writing this story??? How can Coralie be a 48C bra size??? I am a 36DD and while chesty, I am not large. My petite sister in law is a 38FF…she is a petite 5’1” and “plus” sized 18 and she has MELONS for boobs. That is the kind of woman I envisioned when I saw Coralie…tiny, cute and chesty with a bit of meat packed on her. The 48 part just stuck in my head that her rib cage UNDER her breasts is 48 inches around! My son’s friend who plays linebacker doesn’t even have a 48” chest size!?!?!?! If she had that big of a chest under her boobs, then the difference from her under the boobs measurement to the around the boobs is only about 6” more…you wouldn’t hardly notice that difference. To put that into perspective, my difference is 9” and I do not look big chested in clothes at all…the 6” difference in Coralie would not attract that much attention at all. Now if she were more like my sister in law, her difference is 15” and now those babies stop traffic. This may be a little detail, but as far as big chested girls go, I have had to deal with buttons popping, but also been there when my sister in law tried to contain her girls in a wedding dress (which she and her mom made because seriously…no designers sew for petite and plus and HUGE chested).
2) As a story, I loved Devlin and his fantasy…but I grew frustrated with knowing when the fantasy ended and when he was role playing. I guess like Coralie, I wanted it to be real. I truly feel that we see the most honest picture of Devlin right at the end after their encounter with her ex at work. While the CLIFFY pissed me off, I loved that the true Devlin seemed to be surfacing. Be careful what you wish for…
3) One week to fall in love is crazy, but I did it in only 1 date and we’ve been together a ¼ century…but hooking up with your escort is insane! The dude was an escort, not a playboy…why be jealous over an afternoon helping her best friends future sister in law…unless she offered him money, Devlin wasn’t looking to cheat.
4) Coralie is OLDE money and lots of OLDE money…how she doesn’t think about spending 25K or 100K, but frets about wasting the floral deposit threw me. The continuity was a jarring reading faux pas.
Dahhh…These things threw me. Overall…I liked the story and read it in one night, but when a couple niggly issues keep me from diving in head first, I get mad…then add on the cliffhanger (which I knew nothing about)…uggg…gimme the next book already!

ARC provided via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Coralie Cabot (CC) is a good girl that does everything people expect of her. Her mother died when she was young, her father injured in an accident. The only child and heir to the Cabot family business. She takes care of everyone and never thinks of herself. Her life is picture perfect from the outside, a loving family, good friends, a pedigree boyfriend, the family business. But she is not happy, disgusted with her image and how she can’t find something she likes to wear in her own store. Always being told what to do and taken for granted by her father and her boyfriend.

Best Friend Lucy is getting married and the mother of the bride is the bridezilla. Never taking into account what Lucy wants, worried more about what the society will think. CC is upset about her life going nowhere with her on again off again boyfriend, Lucy is upset about not getting what she wants out of her own wedding. Trying to help CC do something for herself Lucy suggests that CC hire a date for the upcoming benefit.

Enter Delvin Masters, sexy alpha male that is going to make all of her dreams come true. Delvin is in the business so providing fantasies. His job is to give CC what she doesn’t know she wants. The chemistry is instant for CC but it is hard to tell if its’ the same for Devlin. He knows the right things to say, the timing is perfect, and he is a dream come true. Their relationship turns the lives of many inside and out and together they go down a road that I didn’t see coming.

I really liked Devlin from the moment he was introduced but near the end I found something off. I can’t put my finger on it but he was changing. I can’t wait for the next book to see what happens between CC and Devlin and the rest of the cast of characters.

Ginger Voight provided me with a book that kept me engaged. Masters for Hire is well written with good character development, great story line, unexpected twists and turns, and hot scenes. And an ending that has be counting the days until the next book arrives.

Masters for Hire is the start of yet another insanely good series from Ginger Voight. Sure I may be biased but I tell you, this author continues to bring forth her best with each new book and with the very sexy Devlin Masters I'd say she has outdone herself!

Coralie Cabot is living a life dictated by her family. She is a square peg trying her hardest to fit in that round hole but no matter how hard she tries, she just simply wants more. Deciding to throw caution to the wind, she hires an escort to make her feel wanted, desired and sexy. The very handsome Devlin Masters is the one Coralie picks for a week away in Vegas for a spur of the moment wedding that her best friend needs before the spectacle of her family wedding drives her insane. And so the sparks start to fly.

Oh wow. What starts as just a job becomes so much more. Even more than I had expected truth be told. The whirlwind romance that begins to develop between Devlin and Coralie takes both of them by surprise. Yet their chemistry, their passion for each other is undeniable and when the well-worn shells each wears to cover up their true feelings start to crumble, that is when the action really begins and the journey that unfolds will have you begging for more.

This is book one in the series and thankfully Ginger Voight doesn't make us wait too long for the next installment.

This is a love story you will not want to miss! Clearly one of the author's best hands down.

A solid 5 stars!!

Marie's Tempting Reads Netgalley ARC Review:

Masters For Hire by Ginger Voight is a decadent treat for romance readers that love great sex, a bit of drama and some wicked chemistry. This story was written well with some amazing characters and a terrific storyline. I loved the edge, the sizzle between the characters and the fantasies that are unleashed throughout the story. Masters For Hire is an addiction, and what a great one it is! Hot, smoldering, and delicious, this book whet my appetite and has me craving more. The cover alone can leave a girl panting, but once you start the book, its nearly impossible not to enjoy every word, every paragraph, every chapter. I did NOT like when it ended! I hope the next one comes out SOON.

Yes, this book drew me in like a moth to a flame. I devoured this book in just a day and was disappointed when I finished. Devlin is the kind of man that every woman fantasizes about. His character is charming, devilish, sexy as sin, and just irresistible. Coralie is the kind of woman I picture myself as. She has a great personality, is a bit shy, yet has a secret wildness about her that you can't help but to see right away. A perfect couple!

Ginger Voight is the kind of author you want to look out for and to keep on your MUST BUY list. Masters For Hire gets a WICKEDLY SINFUL FIVE SHOOTING STARS! I loved this book thoroughly and can't wait for book two of this new series.

I liked the idea of this story - Hot gigolo falls for plus-sized, sorry "extended size" woman who on the outside appears to live a life of luxury and privilege, but in reality she's not living her own life at all.

The actual story itself just fell flat for me and seemed a little formulaic.

I get that CC has very little body confidence, I get that she's trying to find herself, but the constant drama over the clothing lines and the refusal of her father to stock "extended sizes" in their stores got on my nerves a little. I get it, you've told us that part of the story, it doesn't need to keep being repeated constantly.

Devlin's character also fell flat. So, he falls in love with her immediately but you never really know why. It just didn't seem completely believable.

Also, the hashtags really irritated the life out of me! If CC had been described as a social media addict, I'd get it. Otherwise, they just seemed a bit juvenile and not in keeping with her character.

The copy received from Netgalley was horribly edited and formatted, which didn't enhance the reading experience, but I've not taken that into account when rating.

Overall, not for me.
