Short, which can be a good thing. My six year old was interested for the entire book, so we read it in one sitting. (Why I bothered rating it.)
I found it a little too busy, but that is a style of book which appeals to many. The author seemed enthusiastic, if a bit rushed.
We will be reading other books that will help flesh out the time periods mentioned, and this wasn't a terrible one to include, but not sure I would recommend it if you have others available.
