The Brandon Scandals #2

The Reprobate's Redemption

Following a botched abduction in which he was wounded, Evelyn, Marquis Finchbury finds himself embroiled with the determined young runaway Imogen. Short of money but loath to get attached to a chamberpot heiress, Finchbury spurns the idea of courting Imogen. Instead he hands her over to his mother's protection. As Imogen turns her hand to sorting out Lady Enid's problems and rescuing Finchbury's illegitimate children from a murderous gypsy and a vituperative gentlewoman, Finchbury finds himself drawn to Imogen against his will. His protestations that he is no good for Imogen fall on determinedly deaf ears as the chamberpot heiress unravels the ghosts of his past and determines to marry Evelyn

I was born in the usual manner and grew up, but only to 5'4". I planned to be a civil engineer or a sports coach or a forensic scientist until I got married, but I got married first and caught a chronic illness shortly thereafter, so I started painting and writing to stop myself going stir crazy. I write what I like reading. Life's too short to take it too seriously, and I'm here to have fun with my writing as with everything else.
I do like writing series because I gain a fondness for my characters and want to pursue their adventures further. I always wanted to do this with books that I read, which is why perhaps my first serious forays into writing were through fanfiction, even though it wasn't called that back before the Internet when I started writing it!.

Better than the first

I tried and tried to read The Hasty Proposal (the first in this series) and eventually gave up because I became so bored. I’m glad I jumped to the second book!

This was not boring at all. It was exciting from the first page. Imogene, the “chamberpot heiress”, happens across Evelyn, the Marquess from “The Hasty Proposal” who has attempted an abduction of Imogene’s cousin, Edwards fiancé. Imogene begins straight away “managing” things and doesn’t stop the entire book. Somewhere along the way she falls for the Marquee, only he is too stubborn to want to have anything to do with Imogene because he feels not good enough.

This was a great, fun read!! Hoping the next one is as good!

A thoroughly enjoyable read

The rake of the first book in this series is redeemed, and there are many adventures along the way, as well as family expansion, all told with humor woven throughout. And, of course, you have a heroine who will stick at nothing.

The Reprobate’s Redemption (The Brandon Scandals Book 2)
By Sarah J Waldock
The sequel to Sarah Waldock’s brilliant “The Hasty Proposal” re-introduces us to the villain of the first novel in the series Evelyn, Marquis Finchbury, who is recuperating from a deserved injury acquired in the earlier novel when he foolishly tried to abduct the heroine and she shot him. He has attempted to leave his bed and is feeling dizzy when he beholds an angel. Then he realises an angel will not be dressed in the height of Regency fashion. Imogen Brandon Copley is no wilting violet, but a girl who knows her own mind and the handsome fortune-hunter Evelyn seems to fit exactly what she wants. Now she must make him realise that she is just what he needs and set his feet on the road to a genuine redemption.
A joyous escape to Regency England as Evelyn is forced into the role of moral protector for the audacious Imogen. “The Reprobate’s Redemption” is a lovely sweet story for lovers of traditional and historically accurate Regency romance.
