I often forget how much I like fantasy. I bought the whole series from my library at some point and it has been standing on my shelf ever since. I spontaneously decided to start reading the first one and I ended up really enjoying it. I like how real the main character feels, even (or especially) when she is naive and annoying, I like the magic, the history and the creatures. It is nothing really new, but I still liked it. The names were a bit hard to keep in mind, especially because some of them sounded really similar to me, but it had a glossary at the back, so I could just remind myself what certain words meant. It ended with a real cliffhanger, so I'm looking forward to reading the next one!
