Ariella thought she was done with conspiracies. And she definitely thought she was done with mechanical menaces. She was wrong.

An accident hits the floating city of Oasis, and Ariella’s friend Marin goes missing, along with the newly crowned Selpe emperor. The Selpes aren’t lifting a finger to help, so it’s up to her and Silas to save their friends from an elite order of assassins—or her nightmare foresight just might come true.

To avoid a bloody and fractured future, they will go through anyone, even a dozen assassins. They will go anywhere, even floating cities swarming with magical beasts and deadly machines. And they will take any ally they can get, even the person who once betrayed them.

Ella Summers has been writing stories for as long as she could read; she's been coming up with tall tales even longer than that. One of her early year masterpieces was a story about a pigtailed princess and her dragon sidekick. Nowadays, she still writes fantasy. She likes books with layered plots, lots of action and adventure, and a touch of romance. When she is not busy writing or spending time with her two young children, she makes the world safe by fighting robots.

Originally from the U.S., Ella currently resides in Switzerland. She is the author of Sorcery and Science, a fantasy adventure series set in a world splintered by magic and technology.

A fast-paced fantasy adventure

Summary: 5 stars. A fast and fun story with lots of action and great character dynamics.

Skybuilders is another great installment in the Sorcery and Science series. It follows Ariella, Silas, and Leonidas in a high stakes rescue mission. As in previous books there’s lots of action as they battle creatures and machines in high-tech cities in the sky.

What I really like about this series is though the pacing is fast and the action scenes are intense there’s still a lot of character development. The interactions between the three characters are amusing and fun, and it’s nice to hear more about their pasts and motivations. This series has a large and varied cast of really interesting characters. And the writing is really good.

The book’s ending was unexpected. I wish I could read the next book already!
