Williamson has a very readable narrative style. This book isn't referenced in more recent books on the Tudors but that's not to say that anything in it has been contradicted by anything else I've read. It is very useful for giving an old-fashioned, sequential, temporal account of 1485 to 1603. There is a certain emphasis on ocean voyages and various voyages of discovery, as well as commerce, all welcome.
