After a wildly successful career in Special Forces, Mason Wright has come to believe that there is no puzzle he can’t solve, no problem he can’t fix, no person he can’t charm. But all that changes the day he’s assigned the task of stopping suspected cat burglar Sara Baumgartner from stealing one of the world’s most famous pieces of jewelry.
Not only is Sara the first person he’s met that seems immune to all his moves, she also swears up and down that she isn’t a criminal. But even if the intriguing stranger is telling the truth, Mason can tell that Sara is harboring a terrible secret—the kind that could land her in the morgue if she isn’t careful. And Mason isn’t about to let that happen…no matter the cost to his pride or his heart.

Part romantic comedy, part thriller, and filled with plenty of intrigue, MASON is the fourth novel in the Sinner Saints contemporary romance series.
I just can't get enough of this series. It all centers around the employees of MacMillan Security, run by Carter MacMillan, whose nickname is "captain". This came about because he was the head of their Special Forces unit overseas. This particular story is about Mason. He's extremely good looking, highly skilled, and has a certain flare for charming the opposite sex. Which is why their computer specialist thinks he'd be the perfect man for the job. A certain valuable necklace, The Evening Star, is on exhibit at a local museum and the daughter of well-known thieves has shown up there three days in a row. There's no other reason for her presence than to steal the necklace. Mason's job is to prevent that from happening.
Sara Baumgartner may have infamous parents but she's never actually stolen anything in her life. In fact, she's done her best to make her own way in the world and worked hard at keeping a low profile. There have been times she's been questioned by law enforcement but they'd never found a reason to charge her with a crime. Until now. When she steals The Evening Star. She has no choice in the matter. A very bad man has kidnapped her parents and the only way she's going to get them back is to take the necklace and take the fall for the crime. Before she can do so, however, someone beats her to the punch. Sara manages to follow the thief for a time but ends up losing him in another part of town.
Mason knows Sara is innocent of the theft because he'd been shadowing her all day. When the real thief gives her the slip, he makes his presence known just in time to keep her from getting killed. Unfortunately, now the bad guy thinks she has someone else working with her and ups the ante for her parents return. Pretty soon, she and Mason are running from the Russians and South Africans, both of whom believe she has the necklace, while involving all of MacMillan Security in trying to find her parents and secure their release before time runs out and Sara has to turn over the necklace. Oh, wait, she really doesn't have it so she has to locate the actual thief and get it away from him if she wants her parents back alive.
Fast paced with plenty of action and suspense, there's also some romance thrown in for good measure. Can't wait for the next book to come out. Hope it's about Charlie. She's been interested in Bowie since day one!
Another fantastic read by the Sinner Saints! This book was filled with non-stop action and the sexy Mason and mysterious Sara. I enjoyed every minute of this story! Now I have to wait as calmly as possible for Bowie and Charlie's story to come out! How on earth am I going to do that? LOL. And I don't believe we've heard the last of James our mysterious thief and possibly something else? Hmmmmm let's see what Ms. Bell has up her sleeve next!
Mason is different from the previous books. firstly Mason is not like the others, his skills extend beyond the big, scary badass. He had more than the expected qualities, he is brains over brawns and be worked it. James was a pleasant surprise in the novel, an unknown addition which I'm positive they will explore in Bowie. This one was different and a welcomed different, expecially in a series that as becoming completely predictable.
4.5 Stars. This book alters the path the previous books took. This time the Macmillan Security seeks out the lady. Verity fears the daughter of infamous jewel thieves, is casing the museum to pull off a heist of the priceless Evening Star necklace. It’s Mason job to get close to Sara. With his crystal blue eyes and sexy, well-defined body, plus his sweet talking lines, he shouldn’t have any troubles getting Sara to spill her plans. Sara is too smart to fall for Mason’s charm. After same entertaining bantering, Mason realizes Sara is in trouble. As a gentleman and a security expert, he is more than ready to protect Sara. The question is, will she let him. Once Mason and his colleagues witness Sara’s skills, they will provide her protection, but she will lead the team. That was a turn of events I didn’t expect. What I did expect, was the chemistry between Sara and Mason. This book has more surprises and an added mystery character to keep things intriguing.
Sara is being pressured to steal a necklace to save her parents. Mason is on the job as extra protection at the museum where the necklace is. Of course, their paths are going to cross and Mason decides he has to help Sara and the fun begins. First the necklace gets stolen by another thief, so they have to find the necklace then figure out ow to free Sara's parents without getting someone killed. Can the get it done and will the love that is growing survive?
Love this series - the first one is still my favorite but I enjoyed Mason's book. I liked Sara as well and these books are the perfect mix of suspense/action and romance.
Really like Mason because he can flirt but be humourous, and of course, dangerous, as well. Same for Sara, she's got the brains, the skills, and the courage to stand up to Mason, his team, and the evil powerful man who's kidnapped her parents.
I love the art thief idea, and all the chasers of the necklace that Sara needs to bargains for her parent's safety. Great to see the main characters all grouped at some point or another in each book, they feel more 3 dimensional then.
This series has so much action in it, it moved the story along, but it all balances nicely with the development of the relationships between the characters.
Sad I only have one left to read in the series, then have to wait for more on the James character. How very intriguing.
This was my least favorite in the series so far. I enjoy this writer, and I thought the book was well-written but I had problems the a number of things. These are pet peeves of mine, which would probably not affect the enjoyment by other readers. 1) I wish authors would use different letters of the alphabet when naming characters. Mason is the hero, Malcolm is the villain. 2) Sara (heroine) talks about having hooked up with more men than she could count on both hands. I feel that when a woman has been with that many men she has no concept of love. 3) Mason tells Sara he's been in love before. Again, I think this diminishes the love between the main characters. 4) Even though two attempts had been made on Sara's life, she didn't want Mason's help. It didn't represent her as a strong woman, wanting to take care of herself, but a stupid one. I loved reading about all the other characters from macmillan security that we've come to know and love. However, though I've been waiting with bated breath to get to Bowie's book because of the way he and Charlie were written in previous books (he's into her, she's clueless), this book made it sound like she's into him, he's been dating other women and now she's going to "go for it" since he's broken up with his latest relationship. Not my favorite plot line. We'll see...
The Sinner Saints really is a perfect name for the guys in this series. That is exactly what they are, guys with pasts that weren't all good doing good things while bending the rules just enough to avoid breaking them. I love these guys!
Mason might be a pretty face, but Sara is not interested. She's known lots of "face men" in her life, and they were all cons. She is stuck in an impossible situation with the lives of people she loves depending on her. Mason just wants to help, but Sara has learned from experience that trust is a mistake. She also doesn't want anyone else to get hurt, especially not Mason's whole team. Mason, on the other hand, has finally found the one woman who sees inside him beyond his appearance, and he has no intention of letting anyone hurt her. He pulls out all the stops and pulls in all the team to pull off an impossible rescue.
The chemistry between this couple was both sexy and fun. Their conversations were witty and amusing as well. I enjoyed getting to check back in with the team, especially Bowie and Charlie. If they don't get the next book, I don't know what I'll do. I can't wait for their story!
This one was my favorite because the h was very usual and played a major role in everything. She didn't just sit back and let the men take care of it. She had her own talents.
