I feel as though this book was an excellent companion to the reading and understanding of the book of Mark. This is the first book in the Be series that I have read. I look toward to reading other books in this series to further enhance my understanding of different books of the Bible.

I am never disappointed with Wiersbe's bible commentaries. This one, on the book of Mark, was excellent. What I appreciate the most is his historic background of the biblical events and etymology of several used expressions in the Bible.

I always appreciate reading a commentary alongside a book of the Bible, and Wiersbe’s commentaries are easy book companions. Byers Assembly Kids will be going through the book of Mark from January to Easter, so this helps me write the lessons.

I feel as if Wiersbe doesn't challenge the reader enough and doesn't move past the surface in a lot of his analysis. Nonetheless, I enjoyed delving into Mark.

This is a very basic commentary to accompany the book of Mark. Its simplicity and readability make it appealing.

Read in conjunction with a church small-group lesson.

I used this for bible study, and found some parts quite useful. There were observations he made that I very much disagreed with, but he did offer some insights that were helpful for me.

The gospel of Mark is a book of action. Many of the verbs are present participle, indicating continuing action: saying, going, teaching. The word “immediately” occurs in Mark 35 times (in the ESV), more than any other book, though Mark is the shortest of the four gospels.

In Warren Wiersbe’s short commentary, Be Diligent (Mark): Serving Others as You Walk with the Master Servant, he says:

Mark wrote for the Romans, and his theme is Jesus Christ the Servant. If we had to pick a “key verse” in this gospel, it would be Mark 10: 45—“For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.”

The fact that Mark wrote with the Romans in mind helps us understand his style and approach. The emphasis in this gospel is on activity. Mark describes Jesus as He busily moves from place to place and meets the physical and spiritual needs of all kinds of people.

Mark does not record many of our Lord’s sermons because his emphasis is on what Jesus did rather than what Jesus said.

Because Mark’s gospel was so jam-packed, it was a little hard to discuss in our church’s Bible study time. But the study of Mark was profitable, as were the insights offered by Wiersbe.

This is the tenth “BE” commentary by Wiersbe that I’ve used with my morning Bible study, and I found it to be just as helpful as the others. I am getting more out of my studies, though it is taking me longer to read through the Bible. I highly recommend these, as they are very easy to understand and to incorporate into your daily study. They don’t require any written work, but are more like an expanded study Bible.

Wiersbe's "Be" series commentaries are Biblical, theological, devotional and filled with application. I use them mainly for my own personal devotions, as I read through the Word. His comments stir up ideas and thought that enhance my own study of the Word.

Simple ways to communicate Mark to audiences. I always enjoy Wiersbe. I may not be happy with the baptisty stuff or dispensationalism in his works, but he modeled how to present the Scriptures thoughtfully and straightforwardly.

Another inspiring book by Warren Wiersbe. I read this every day as I was reading the Book of Mark in The Daily Bible by John MacArthur. It expanded my reading a hundredfold!

Warren Wiersbe's Be series is awesome. As the other commentaries I've read Be Diligent is very insightful. I have my husband reading them and he enjoys them also.
