"...I was undeniably hooked just a few pages in..." - Sara Steven, Chick Lit Central When Bellamy Timberfrost is jilted while proposing on television to Alanna Rutherford, America's heart breaks just as hard as his own. Designer Emma Van Elson can't imagine a guy who is more of a catch than Bellamy. When he is given a second chance at love on his own reality TV show, she jumps at the chance to become a contestant on the show. Soon she finds herself as one of twenty lucky young women competing for Bellamy's heart (and other great prizes!) on a journey around the world.
I just finished reading Bellamy's Redemption. It was a very entertaining read. It was difficult to put it down. Lots of twists and turns through the book with a major surprise ending. If you love the Bachelor or the Bachelorette and maybe if you don't I highly recommend this book.
Review for Chick Lit Central (chicklitcentral.com)
The opening scene in Bellamy’s Redemption reminds me of a typical Monday evening at my house. Sitting in front of the television, eagerly anticipating the drama and chaos that will ensue when The Bachelor broadcasts. I’m sure that's why I was undeniably hooked just a few pages in while reading "Bellamy." In fact, much of this novel made me feel as though I was getting a behind-the-scenes look at what really goes on when dealing with reality television.
Emma Van Elson, the sweet and kooky female lead, is just as hooked as I am. She’s waiting to see who Alanna Rutherford will choose for her husband, on a show quite similar to The Bachelor. When Alanna doesn’t pick the man of everyone’s dreams, Bellamy Timberfrost, it feels as if the whole nation, including Emma, has let out a collective gasp. What was Alanna thinking?
Bellamy now has the chance to seek out love in front of millions of viewers on his own show, “Bellamy’s Redemption”. Emma has to get on the show. She’s never met Bellamy, but she has to discover if he’s just as dreamy in person as he is on the small screen. Emma has complete and total tunnel vision, even blocking out a potential love interest who lives just down the hall from her in her apartment building, all in the name of romance.
The road to romance is never easy. Emma is up against some fierce competition when she is accepted onto the show. It seems as though all the other women are gorgeous and much better suited for Bellamy, although the majority of them don’t seem to be there for the “right” reasons. And, where do Emma’s loyalties lie, anyway? While she’s finding herself becoming more and more infatuated with Bellamy, she can’t seem to get her hunky neighbor out of her head. Is she getting sucked into the limelight, or is Bellamy the one for her?
"Bellamy" was absolute fun from start to finish. I loved the catty scenes with the other female contestants, including a surprise guest that no one saw coming, throwing a huge wrench into Emma’s plans. What I also appreciated: the blindsides. Many times I’ve had an inkling as to which direction a book was headed, but "Bellamy" is an absolute surprise. It keeps you guessing, all the way through.
Ms. Tierney-Bedford takes us into the world of Reality TV and what happens in front of and behind the TV cameras in this fast paced novel. We meet Emma Van Elson, who has been following Bellamy Timberfrosts journey from bachelor to proposal. The world, and Emma watch in horror when the love of Bellamy's life turns down his proposal. With the help of her good friend and neighbor Pete, Emma submits her video resume for the following seasons show, Bellamy's Redemption. In no time at all, Emma finds herself one of the women selected for the Reality TV show, just when another romance enters her life. Does she go on TV to find out if she can win Bellamy's heart, or does she stay home and follow her heart? With tick marks in the Pro and Con columns, she follows the path that leads her to Bellamy's door. Travelling the world and receiving decadent gifts is just too much for her to resist. The bitchy conflicts and exaggerated characters who are competing with Emma for Bellamy's affection are absolutely entertaining. These highly dramatized incursions seem (sadly) believable, making this book an absolutely engaging read. But when faced with reality, what does Emma ultimately decide? I highly recommend this book.
Wow, she’s done it again! Another absolutely stunning read which I couldn’t put down!! Holly you are one of my queens! As a reader and book lover, thank you for the wonderful stories and hard work it must take to produce them. There is nothing to dislike about this book- Fantastic author- ✅ Reality TV- ✅ Superb plot- ✅ Likeable characters- ✅ Romance- ✅ I absolutely love the bachelor and this book put me right there in the thick of it! I’m not sure I’d be brave enough to give up my job to go in search of love but I loved Emma’s determination and bravery. I could almost imagine Bellamy as the Sean, that I fell in love with watching the bachelor. I loved the setting Holly presented, I laughed at the other girls on many occasions. The cattiness that comes from competitive girls was evident and I absolutely loved it. The competition was definitely there. The plot of this book was not what I had predicted. The twists and turns I didn’t predict coming. They kept me on the edge of my seat and made me want to keep reading. I’m not going to give away any spoilers, but between Pete and Bellamy; for me there was a clear winner. Holly really has done it again, this is a book which deserves more than five stars. Although the highest rating I can give, five stars doesn’t do this wonderful read justice. I have adored this book from start to finish! I highly recommend this be added to TBR lists. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💖
Hilarious story about a reality tv series quite like the Bachelor where a freaky loveable quirky woman wants to marry the man of her dreams... if only the neighbour wouldn't be so sexy all of a sudden... and the shooting brings all kinds of funny and dramatic scenes. I enjoyed reading this fun chick lit but was a bit disappointed by the end which came rather abrupt. But all in all I can recommend it!
Starting this story I had no idea what it was about. If you know me well, I don't really like to know much about the story, when I start.
Emma is a girl who is in love with a reality guy Bellamy. When she finds out about his own show starting, she applies. It seems as though everyone she knows doesn't think it's a good idea. Honestly, I would be getting myself some new friends. Of course you can't get new family.
I loved the humor in this one. I laughed aloud more than a couple times and had to stop and tell my husband. Emma is cute but naive at twenty seven. But she was not annoying. The fact that she talks to herself and actually replies in conversation, you would think would be crazy. But hey she's figuring stuff out.
There were times when I was bored. I felt like something more needed to happen. I didn't feel at all shocked but was interesting go see what could possibly be happening while on a reality show. The writing was well done. This is a solid three for me...Lissa
When Bellamy is not selected as the winner of a reality show, because of his popularity, he gets his own show. When Emma and her friends see that Bellamy will have his own show, Emma decides to apply. Before she leaves for California, she realizes that she has feelings for her neighbor Pete and he may feel the same feelings. Contestants are sent home, then brought back. Bellamy and Emma are just friends, then they aren't. Pete is waiting for her to call, then he isn't. So who will Emma end up with, and who will Bellamy chose? Holly Tierney-Bedford keeps you guessing to the end.
Who doesn't love to read a book based on reality TV? If you are a fan of The Bachelor/The Bachelorette, you should read this book! You often wonder if reality shows are scripted and this book allows you to fantasize just what it may be like to be on one of the reality shows. Even though there were multiple characters, you are able to keep them straight. This book is written clearly enough that you feel you are a part of the story. Fun poolside read on vacation!
I read this book when I was 13 and should not have been reading an adult romance 😂. I never finished it because it was not appropriate for me at that age, but what I did read I was bored with.
(For the record, I did have another review that I wrote when I was 13, but looking back that was too embarrassing, hence the edits)
