Malcolm Wallace once lost the love of his life before he could make her a promise. Now fuelled by guilt and living from one adrenaline rush to the other he surrounds himself with fast car and fast women. He could never allow anyone to get close to him but he’s about to meet a girl who could be the greatest thrill of his life.

Paislie Pruitt distrusts men. After all, the one man who was supposed to care for her dropped her off on the steps of an orphanage when she was eight. Somehow she clawed out a good life for herself and now her father only contacts her when he needs some money. Nope, she has no time for men. Good thing too because she hardly feels a spark when she hooks up with one anyway. But when she runs into Malcolm, the spark she feels nearly knocks her on her ass.

Malcolm and Paislie know they are feeling something they have never felt before but will they be able to overcome all the bumps and twists in the road, and their own issues, to cross the finish line to a HEA?

This book hooked me right at the shocking prologue. I knew right then that I would be taken on a thrilling ride. I loved both of these characters and the action came hard and fast. It is every bit as angsty as you’d expect but it is also fun, sexy and impossibly sweet. This is yet another great edition to the Speed Series.

~ 5 Adrenaline Filled Stars ~

As always Kelly Elliott has hit a home run with Adrenaline. Whether she is writing about swoon worthy cowboys or fast talking NASCAR drivers, she has an amazing talent at creating romanced filled books that leave you feeling happy.

Adrenaline is the second book in Speed Series. It follows the life of a NASCAR driver and a lonely girl who grew up in an orphanage. This book will touch on all your emotions. I was crying, laughing, swooning, and yelling, but in the end I had a HUGE smile on my face. I am always thrilled to read a book by Kelly Elliott because her books captivate me and suck me in from the beginning. She gives us great characters that you can’t help but fall in love with and storylines that are intriguing enough to keep you hooked til the very end. She gives us just the right mix of romance and drama to keep you wanting to turn the page!! Although I will admit as quick as I finish her books, whenever I get to the end I am sad because I don’t want the book to end.

As with Ignite (Book 1), we are swept into the world of NASCAR racing. I loved that we got a little more of the racing element in this book. She made me fell like I was at the track watching the race myself. I loved that!!! She tells this story in Dual POV. I thought she did a wonderful job with the flow and pace of the story. I will say I was a little surprised with the direction she took Malcolm’s story. I was guessing something different after meeting him in Ignite, but I enjoyed this story just the same.

In this book we follow the story of Malcolm and Paislie. Both of these characters are broken for different reasons and have a hard time believing in love. We first met Malcolm in Ignite. He was the rival driver of Emmett and also a huge playboy. His story continues on into Adrenaline and we get to find out more of why he is the way he is. His backstory was a sad one and he had a lot of guilt he needed to overcome. He has sworn off love until he literally runs into Paislie. Paislie is a woman who was abandoned when she was eight. He mom died when she was 5 and her dad decided to drop her off at the local orphanage. So she was basically raised by Sister Elizabeth, who in turn becomes her BFF. I loved Paislie, because even though she had a rough start in life, she made something of herself and turned a negative into a positive. I thought she was a perfect fit for Malcolm and brought out his stronger, yet softer side. Now their road to happiness is not an easy one or a smooth one. They both have a lot of trust issues to overcome. Will they be able to work together to overcome their obstacles and find their HEA??? You’ll need to read this book to find out.

I loved that we got meet some new secondary characters in this story, but I also LOVED that we got to see more of Adaline and Emmitt. I will say that I think sweet little Sophie stole the show for me. I absolutely LOVE when authors work kids into the stories. They always add such warmth to a story and some much needed comic relief.

So if you like fast and dirty talking NASCAR drivers and the woman who tames him, then you should read this book. Adrenaline is a standalone novel with NO cliffhanger!!! You don’t have to read Ignite first, but as always I would highly recommend it so you get the full background of all the characters.

If you are a Kelly Elliott fan, then you don’t want to miss this two book series!!!

Review by Lisa Kane
Paislie Pruitt is fiercely independent. When she was a child, her mom died and her father left her at Saint Patrick's Orphanage.

"Don't cry, Paislie Lynn Pruitt. Pruitt's don't cry. You're almost nine years old, for Christ's sake."

She was bounced around from foster home to foster home and always ended up back at the orphanage. Her mentor was Sister Elizabeth and she nurtured Paislie and felt her feel safe. Paislie has strong spiritual beliefs, but at an early age her lack of trust in men leads to her looking for sex for pleasure's sake encounters. These are safer in the long run-no man will hurt her like her father's abandonment did. Of course as she got older, went to college and became a physical therapist; her father regularly got in contact with her to hit her up for money.

Malcolm Wallace is one of NASCAR's most skilled drivers. Now that his once nemesis/now good friend, Emmit Lewis is retired the field is open wide for him. Racing and the adrenaline rush it brings with it, is his fuel. When he was in high school, his girlfriend Casey wanted him to promise to love only her. She was killed in front of him and he never had a chance to answer her.

"This is not happening. Casey, please don't leave me! Baby, please don't do this to me. I'm so sorry!" I shouted as a paramedic rushed over to me.

He has lived a life of meaningless sex; believing he deserves only that. He holds a lot of guilt over her death and it still holds him back from anything more. His most recent hook ups have been with Ashley, Emmit's sister. (of course Emmit has no idea about the two of them)

"This is the life I want, Ash. I don't want to be tied down to one girl. Besides, I'm incapable of loving anyone."

Paislie's been seeing Trey, a football player for a few weeks. Although the sex is okay, she thinks he's hiding something from her. At a NASCAR race she becomes convinced she is his dirty little secret and he has a girl stashed somewhere. She ends up literally bumping into Malcolm and there is an instant connection between them. Once he finds out that she isn't with Trey anymore he pursues her.

Both have issues but both know this thing between them is different than what either of them has had previously. But of course like any good race this one is going to be full of jump starts, breaks, full throttle action and twists and turns. Since it's told in both POV's I loved reading how each of them can take away a totally different impression of the same situation. Both of their insecurities make them revert to acting like love sick high schoolers. But they have good friends giving them great advice. Will these two ever cross the finish line and find their HEA?

"I haven't slept with many men, but more than I should have at my age. I often wonder if I'm even capable of loving someone. If I let my heart open up to them, I have a fear they're going to leave me like my father did."

As much as I enjoyed Malcolm and Paislie's story, two minor characters; Father Tim and Sister Elizabeth intrigued me. As unconventional as a love story between two members of the church is, there remains a mystery there. I would love to read about it-I need to know if what I think is between them develops into something more.

"You have my stomach in knots and half the time I don't know whether I'm coming or going, Paislie. This is all so new to me...these feelings."

Fast cars and Southern boys. They go hand and hand. And nobody does southern boys like Kelly Elliott.

Paislie goes to church for several reasons. The first is that she was raised in the church orphanage after her father abandoned her there. The second is that her best friend is a nun. The third is that she has a lot to ask forgiveness for. She likes the guys. Sometimes makes bad decisions. But she always regrets those, hence the church visits.

Malcolm is a good old southern boy who likes fast cars and loose women. And they both love him. He is a NASCAR driver therefore, he has an abundance of both. And that's the way he likes it. He doesn't have any desire to slow down or settle down.

That shit was not in the cards for me. Never has been....never will.

When Malcolm and Paislie bump into each other, literally, they both feel a spark. A spark that has been missing. But it can't be as easy as that. Malcolm feels he isn't worthy of happiness. It's his punishment. Paislie has hard time with trust. The whole daddy issues thing going on.

Paislie and Malcolm are plenty hot. He is determined to win her over until he has her.

Please tell me you felt that too?

Ms Elliott has given us another great read. Her characters pop off the page and make you glad you live in Texas. And if you don't live in Texas, Ms Elliott gives you a glimpse of what you are missing.

Malcolm Wallace has no shortage of woman falling at his feet, He is a rising star in the world of racing and now that his competition has left the circuit he is set to be the one to beat from now on.

Paislie Pruitt first meets Malcolm when she is on a date with another man. The attraction between them is quite overwhelming, she has never experienced anything like that before.

Malcolm is determined to get to know Paislie better. He knows that what he felt with her cannot just be one sided, she had to feel it too.

Paislie is very aware of Malcolm’s reputation in his relationships with women so she is treading very carefully as she doesn’t want to end up as one of his many conquests.

When circumstances change for Malcolm, Paislie ends up spending more time with him than she ever expected to. This is a good thing however as they have the chance to learn more about each other. The perfect opportunity to just be together.

I really liked that this wasn’t one of those insta-love stories, there was a slow paced build up that was more real, more believable.

This book isn't without its flaws -- it's far from perfect but nevertheless, it's a good read (no pun intended). To be honest, I think little Sophie stole the show from the main characters for me.

The Hero and heroine's relationship development is fast-paced, they had an insta-love kind of thing which... annoyed me but I guess it works for them. I loved the drama that happened in the book. They had a lil' separation twice but towards the end I felt like the author dragged the story when she could have ended it then and there. I had to skim through everything to read the epilogue. The epilogue is hella cute though so there's that!

Not sure if it counts if it's a female character but during their separation, That spoiled it for me because while I understood her reasoning, I did not need to know what happened in detail!

Also, can we talk about how inappropriate Ashley is? I don't know how her character really is because I didn't read the first book. BUT in what world is it okay to bluntly announce to your ex fuck buddy's new girl that you're his recent (but) ex fuck buddy?!!!? WHAT THE FUCK. That's so rude -- I could slap that bitch.

The author's writing style is simple enough to understand and for someone who isn't a native speaker, I found the story easy to grasp. However, there are some dialogue that I found ridiculous. And it got me thinking if people really talk like that in real life.

Adrenaline is Book2 in the Speed Series, Ignite is book1. You really need to read Book1. This is Malcolm and Paislie's story, yes you read that right. #WhoTheHeckIsPaislie is what you're asking yourself right now, since hopefully you read Ignite. Malcolm is your typical alpha male who does not do commitment what so ever. Something happened in his past that makes him the way he is. Paislie comes out of nowhere, but trust me, it will all make sense and leave you at peace with the situation. This story had me feeling good one minute and then the next I didn't know what was coming and I LOVED that. The secondary characters are fabulous and leave you wanting more than you'd thought you'd want. It was great to see how things are going for Emmit and Addie and how they fit into Malcolm and Paislie's life. I really LOVED this series. While I don't know a lot about NASCAR and I worried a little in Book1 there is no aspect of this ROMANCE story you won't understand and you learn a little racing along the way. Totally recommend #ReadOn

A tender and touching romance fueled by angst, Adrenaline makes the heart race and the body ignite as emotions soar around the track at lightning speed. Adrenaline by Kelly Elliott is a riveting and racy romance but so much more. It’s a story about defying the odds. Defeating the demons of the past. Learning to trust those feelings—led by the heart—that flow freely, controlling the head and body in every way. Believing in and trusting fate and second chances, true gifts that sometimes only are given once in a lifetime.

Malcolm Wallace, a Southern boy and famous NASCAR race car driver, lives life on the edge. Hard. Fast. Reckless. Blue eyes, dark hair, tall, built, inked, and a Southern accent that oozes sweetness, he is a walking wet dream. Every woman’s fantasy.

Being a Southern gal, I love Southern boys and NASCAR. Malcolm made me scorch and swoon.

“I’m afraid once you’ve had a taste of the best, the rest will be a disappointment.”

Paislie Pruitt, a physical therapist, has never believed in romance but does believe in having a good time. Green eyes, dark hair, perfect skin and smile, smart, and strong, she is a true natural beauty. A man magnet.

“I had plenty of fun with plenty of guys…Anything to numb the emptiness I felt in my heart.”

Both Malcolm and Paislie are fumbling through life with blinders on and walls around their hearts—not caring, just doing. Forget love. It doesn’t exist except in mushy romance novels.

At a NASCAR race one day, Paislie literally bumps into Malcolm where a simple touch sparks fireworks, igniting little fissures of fire from her head to her heart.

“Smiling like a schoolgirl, I tried to understand what it was about this guy that made me feel so…different. Giddy almost.”

One chance meeting with a beautiful woman, and Malcolm is hanging on the edge of an emotional explosion as he tries to keep his head in the race while is heart is racing for a woman he just met.

“When her hand landed in mine, I was pretty sure we both felt the energy from that touch. The feeling zipping through my body was a rush I’d never experienced before. Why did it feel like I was fighting for oxygen to breathe?”

With a force as strong as the wind tailing the race cars around the track, Malcolm and Paislie are drawn together like an addiction. A burning desire. A physical need like air and water. An insurmountable power that can’t be stopped.

“I swear the sexual tension between us was going to blow and when it did, I didn’t picture sweet and romantic. No…it was going to be more like fast, hard, and sweaty.”

Oh Malcolm. With precision like behind the wheel and performance that rivals the NASCAR races, execution and skills in the bedroom earn a checkered flag. Fast. Hard. Commanding. Reckless. Panties optional.

“Lay back, Paislie. I want to taste you…now.”
“I need to feel your pussy come on my cock…tonight.”
“My cock is so hard for you it hurts. All I want is for you to put your pussy on it and ride the hell out of me until I spill every ounce of cum into your body.”

Two lovers with fire-hot chemistry are powerless as they fight their feelings to prevent getting burned. Kindred spirits.

“Please tell me you felt that too?”

For the first time ever, Paislie and Malcolm want the fairytale. Love floats in the air and is full of possibility.

"My green eyes were filled with something I'd never seen before. Hope."

Two warriors fighting battles of painful pasts. They are each other's hope. Salvation. Destiny. Though sometimes in the race for love, you crash and burn, dangling in the ashes of the past that try to steal the future while tugging on the present.

“This is why I never opened up my heart to anyone. I wasn’t meant to love or be loved.”

Adrenaline sent me racing to the finish line while my body burned with need, my soul tangled in sweetness and sorrow, and my heart beat with hope. Racy, riveting, and a roller coaster of a romance, this story is a must-read that will quench your alpha addiction and leave you panting for more. Heat and heart…the best combination and adrenaline rush.

“I found myself feeling something I’d never felt with a man before. Excitement.”

There hasn’t been a man in twenty-six-year-old Paislie Pruitt’s life who hasn’t walked away from her. Starting with her father who, after her mother’s death, dumped her off at an orphanage when she was nine. She doesn’t open her heart to men because she knows that, inevitably, she’ll just be left behind and hurt by them. A physical therapist, who once considered becoming a nun like Sister Elizabeth, the nun who raised her and is a mother-figure in her life, she instead numbs the pain of her loneliness with sex. Sure, she’s felt attraction to men before, but never anything more than that – until the day she bumped into Malcolm Wallace in Las Vegas.

“For the first time in a long time, I felt something.”

Malcolm Wallace buries the guilt of his first girlfriend, Casey’s, death by living his life on the edge. He doesn’t allow himself to feel anything beyond the adrenaline rush of a race or sex. He’ll won’t allow himself to love a woman. He lives and breathes his playboy, man-whore reputation with a revolving door of one-night-stands. He just doesn’t want anything more than sex from women. He hasn’t felt anything more for a woman since Casey – until the day he bumped into Paislie Pruitt in Las Vegas.

“I wasn’t sure if I should be thrilled beyond belief or scared shitless.”

Both Paislie and Malcolm are in uncharted territory with each other. Neither has ever felt what they feel when they’re with each other before, and they’re not even sure what it is that they’re feeling. They’re both confused and unsettled by these feelings. Malcolm is battling his guilt over feeling something for someone besides Casey, and Paislie is terrified to open herself up to more hurt and rejection from yet another man.

“I’d never be the same after this.”

Unable to fight they pull they both feel, though, they begin spending time together. Malcolm is purposely showing her she’s different than all the other women. Paislie opens up to Malcolm and tells him about her childhood. Both of them are so damaged by their pasts, and they each have baggage and demons to work through and deal with before they can move forward. The question is will they be able to do it together or will they tear each other apart in the process?

“Was this what I wanted? …racing around a track chasing after what? What in the hell was I running from?”

Malcolm and Paislie both make a lot of mistakes, they both stumble while trying to find their footing in this fragile relationship and break up, even though it’s not what either of them really wants. But when Malcolm is badly hurt with what could be a career-ending injury, it’s Paislie who comes to the rescue with a plan to get him back in racing form. But when the pain – of his injury and his demons –becomes difficult to work through, will Malcolm push her away or pull her close?

“…that right there was the biggest adrenaline rush I’ve ever experienced.”

This is the second book in Kelly Elliot’s Speed series, and I really liked it. These two really struggled with their feelings, and Elliot did a great job walking the readers through Malcolm and Paislie’s stops and starts. I really ached for these two, because when you get right to it, they’re both two lonely people who want more than what they’ve got, and they both truly love each other, they were just unsure HOW to love each other.

One thing Malcolm and Paislie had down was the physical side of their relationship – this book was very sexy! There were lots of sweet moments in this story, as well as a few gut-wrenching ones. It was well written, and I have to admit, I’m hoping one day Elliot tells Landon and Emme’s story!

4.5 Adrenaline filled stars!!

“I had become addicted. It was as if she was a drug, and I needed a fix every single day.”

“I swore a long time ago I would never let another man into my heart to hurt me. Then I met you, and everything has been turned upside down. You do things to me…things that make me want to give you my very soul.”

“I can’t breathe without you. I need you to know that. You’re everything I need.”

Adrenaline is the second book in the speed series and follows the story of Malcolm and Paislie. Paislie learned at a very young age just how important it is to protect your heart. All she’s ever wanted from life was to be loved. Paislie decides that it’s time to put herself out there and hopes for the best. However, her first relationship in I don’t know how long isn’t all that great. Sure the sex if fun, but she just doesn’t feel the spark. That is until one day, she bumps into Malcolm. Bumping into him was the best thing that could have ever happened to her. It opened her eyes and made her want more. She knew at that moment she had to end her relationship…..Malcolm has spent the last few years living the life of a playboy. He hasn’t had a serious relationship since high-school. But, when he meets Paislie, he’s suddenly wanting more. He wants to get to know her; spend time with her. For the first time ever, he’s letting a woman get close to him. The road to HEA for these two won’t be an easy one, but if Malcolm can open his eyes and his heart, he’ll see that Paislie is just the adrenaline rush he needs.

Adrenaline was a fantastic read from start to finish. This book starts off with one heck of a beginning and leaves you begging for more. This is one of those reads that just sucks you into the pages and refuses to let you put it down. I fell in love with Paislie and Malcolm right from the start. My heart ached for these two broken characters. I wanted them both to find the happiness that they deserved. And boy, was I rooting for these two. From the moment we meet them, the sparks are undeniable. No matter how hard they try to fight it, the pull is too hard to resist. They are just explosive!

What can I say about Adrenaline? This book is well written and will take you on one fantastic ride. It is sexy. It is fun. It is full of angst. Light on the overall drama. It’s steamy. And in the end, it will leave you with a smile on your face. This story gave me everything I was looking for and more. And I have to say, I really loved how everything tied together in the end. This was a fantastic read. I definitely recommend checking this one out!

Once again, Kelly Elliott delivers a phenomenal read!!! Proving yet again why I absolutely love this author!!!!

This book had all the feels..... I cried, was pissed, cheered, laughed, filled with angst! Let me say the hotness level was thru the roof and oh the swoon worthy moments were surprising!!

Malcolm is at the top of his game, he is one of the top and hottest drivers in NASCAR. He loves women, enjoys women...he has his share of women. No emotional ties nothing beyond the physical. Relationships are something he just can't do, won't do. He knows what its like to love and be loved but the guilt from the past won't allow him to see he deserves more. More than JUST a warm body to fill that void.

Paislie has had her share of heartache. Betrayed and left alone by the one person who should have been her anchor, safe haven. She did find an anchor, a Nun who showed her love...gave her friendship when she needed it the most. A friendship she still treasures. Sadly her past has left deep scars not allowing her to open her heart and causes her to not always make the best decisions. For a time using men, sex to fill that empty void but never beyond the physical. Can she truly trust a man with her heart...will he stay, love her?

One chance meeting that's all it takes. One brief conversation and everything changes. One simple date..a picnic and sparks fly. Malcolm has never felt a pull for another person like he has for Paislie.

"What about the manwhore thing?"
I wanted to take every single moment back I shared with the endless amounts of women I had fucked so I could tell her that wasn't true.

Paislie is scared. She has been hurt many times and fears that a man like Malcolm will only do the same but he makes her feel different.

"Good different or bad different?"
"Good different, but I can't...I mean I've been hurt so many time by guys and you scare me, Malcolm."

One night, one kiss and they both know. This is different, those sparks are something they both feel. They neither can deny it. Chance brought them together. An unfortunate incident on the course and Malcolm pushes her away only to realize his mistake too late, but her job will bring her back to him. Malcolm won't give up, he is determined to show her he isn't like the other men in her life. He can be trusted and he won't leave. Once Paislie returns she is determined to help Malcolm continue to push for his dreams. Does he still want those same dreams? Is that adrenaline rush he craved still in the forefront of his dreams? Can these two battered souls release the past and see that opening their hearts, trusting in another and loving free without hesitation is what they both deserve and long for.

A tragic accident struck Malcolm Wallace at an early age of 17. This would set his feelings for the future of ever loving someone else. Malcolm loves fast cars and especially fast women. He loves the adrenalin rush and will find anything to give him that rush. Malcolm needs it in order to live so he can forgot his past.

Paislie Pruitt lost her mum at an early age and at the age of 8 her father dropped her at an orphanage as he no longer could look after her. This would turn Paislie into a strong, independent woman and would vow that no other man would break her heart again. Sister Elizabeth is the closest mother, father, sister, brother Paislie could ever have. You will learn to love her as much as Paislie does or even Father Tim ;)

Malcolm and Paislie's world collide together in an unstoppable whirlwind that will allow Paislie to open her heart and Malcolm to find a new adrenaline rush of a different kind.

I really liked both Paislie and Malcolm as equal but at times both would get on my nerves. Paislie could be a bit immature but you can understand why once you learn her story. Malcolm was just a typical bloke who thought with the wrong head at times, which took him a bit until his other head realised what he was doing.
I really loved the supporting characters as Malcolm's sister Autumn and her little girl Sophie and can't forget Emmit and Adeline Lewis. They felt real to me as Malcolm and Paislie felt scripted at times.
I really enjoyed the scence with Sophie at the slumber party as Paislie had never experienced one and the pillow fight. What Malcolm and Autumn did for Paislie was really sweet. Also can't forgot the workout scene with Malcolm and Paislie - all I'm gonna say is HOLY HOTNESS!!! The top parts of this whole book is of Sister Elizabeth especially when she punches Paislie's father.

Sometimes I felt the chapters were cut off too quick and went straight on to the next scene, especially with the supporting characters. I think a little bit more could have been added to move smoothly onto the next scene. Still really loved the story between the characters as it made me happy that Malcolm could say bye to his past and Paislie could open her heart up to someone like Malcolm. Both deserved a happy ending.

I really liked how Malcolm went about impressing Paislie and for a guy like Malcolm to never really have a romantic bone in his body, he really hit the nail on the head with a lot of the scenes. This story is still really well written and will always put my hand up to Kelly for another AWESOME read...

Let's hope we will get a story of Sister Elizabeth and Father Tim.

It's been a long time since I've read a book by Kelly Elliott, but as soon as I started Adrenaline, I was reintroduced to all the qualities of her writing that I adore - a fiercely independent heroine who has made the most of her life despite an extremely difficult childhood; a sexy, dirty talking hero who has scars of his own and makes mistakes but does what he can do make amends, and a storyline that is steamy, angsty, and at times frustrating due to characters’ irrational reactions and not thought out actions.

Since he lost his first love, Malcolm Wallace has closed himself off from any kind of emotional relationship, focusing on sexual release and nothing more. Racing became his obsession, his world, pushing himself to the limits and living on the edge in order to obtain a much needed rush – one that he can only get on a racetrack. But in Malcolm’s efforts to live life to the fullest, to outrun tragedy, to live life in the fast lane both in and out of his race car, he’s actually stopped fully being present in his life, but that all changes when he meets Paislie Pruitt.

Paislie Pruitt’s life changed irrevocably when the one man who was supposed to love her unconditionally left her at Saint Patrick's Orphanage, teaching her not to trust another man or allow anyone else into her heart. With her father's actions, she's always felt like she wasn't meant to love or be loved, so she's used sex to numb her pain and her emptiness, succumbing to a physical need and nothing else...until Malcolm Wallace.

Malcolm and Paislie sizzle from the start, but they both carry significant baggage and runaway from what they fear instead of embracing what they know is best for them. It's never been more than sex for either of them, so the feelings they stir up in each other definitely bring on an adrenaline rush, but their relationship is destined to crash and burn if they can't trust or have faith in what they're building, which is going to require both Malcolm and Paislie to accept love rather than push away.

Told in dual POV, Adrenaline takes readers on a steamy and dramatic ride - one that will either bring home the checkered flag or put Malcolm and Paislie's relationship on yellow as they try to figure out what they want and what they feel they deserve.

”You’re the reason I wake up each day.”
As always Kelly Elliott did not disappoint. This author is always a “one click” and release day read.
This book was a rush from the start. Paislie is this sweet girl who has overcome so much in her life. Her past is sketchy but the way Ms. Elliott wrote this you never really feel sorry or have pity for Paislie. Malcolm the perpetual playboy, losing what he thought he needed or should have wanted when he was younger, he keeps his heart at arms length. Until Her.
Paislie always wanted more for herself but was too afraid to put herself out there for fear of being left behind. She kept her heart closed off. Until Him.
This is an amazing story about overcoming pasts and learning to love and accept life as it is. The love these two share is so sweet and in typical Kelly Elliott fashion, Malcolm is ever the romantic without meaning to be. I absolutely loved the way this story unfolded and ended. This is a must pick up!! You will not be disappointed.
”Look into my eyes, Paislie. I’ve never felt like this about anyone.”

Kelly Elliott just hand delivered you a dose of your own adrenaline rush in the form of Malcolm Wallace. She gives us the classic alpha male turned up on high with commitment phobe Malcolm and his sexy swagger. Adrenaline is Elliott’s second book in her one of her newest series- Speed. The Speed Series is set around Nascar drivers Emmitt and Malcolm, however you don’t have to be a NASCAR fan to fall in love with Elliott’s take on this sport. Adrenaline is one of those books you can definitely read as a standalone, however why miss out on such an incredible series!

In this book, we get a closer look at the man we all wanted to know more about in Ignite- Malcolm Wallace. Malcolm is cocky, downright egotistical at times, but damn if you don’t love him. He is sex on a stick and even hotter when flying through that checkered flag. He grabbed my attention immediately when I read Ignite and I wanted more, needed more of this man who I couldn’t resist. I was more than thrilled when I finally got my hands on this book, but man was I surprised when Elliott gave me Paislie.

Yes, folks that’s right. Paislie. If you are a fan of this series, I know you are going “Who the hell is Paislie?” I know I did. But, I will tell you who Paislie is- she is a game changer. Uprooting and changing Malcolm’s life forever, Paislie is the girl that every girls wants to be for her man. She changes Malcolm for the better and reading this book as their story unfolded was one of the best experiences I’ve had when reading. I immediately loved this girl and what she brought to this story.

As always Elliott gives us loveable secondary characters that you want to hear more about. We can only “Pray” for more from Sister Elizabeth, Father Tim and even a new generation of racers.
Elliott has left me again with that warm and cozy feeling deep in my heart. It is one of the many reasons I keep coming back for more of her wonderful stories.

5 Adrenaline Rush Stars

Kelly Elliot has released yet another phenomenal love story, proving over and over why she is an auto buy author for me. Adrenaline is book 2 in the Speed series and focuses on Malcolm and Paisley.

Malcolm Wallace is a rich manwhore, at the top of his game in Nascar. Paisley Pruitt is an independent physical therapist. Neither one is looking for "the one" as they both have issues from the past preventing them from wanting something more.

When these two literally collide into each other, sparks fly instantly. Their story is an adrenaline rush of ups and downs, from start to finish, leaving you crying one minute and smiling like a fool the next.
Kelly has proven her ability to write swoon worthy cowboys time and again, and her race car drivers are no different. In all honesty, I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about Malcolm after reading Ignite, but Kelly did it. She made me fall for the manwhore. He was sweet and romantic yet you could feel his pain and confusion when things intensified between him and Paisley. I loved Paisley's independence and how she always spoke her mind.

There were several ups and downs in this story that kept me on edge for most of the book. The supporting characters definitely left me intrigued and i am hoping to hear more about them (hint, hint)! I highly recommend this book to all romance lovers! Strap on your seatbelt and get ready for an adrenaline rush!

Malcolm, he likes Fast Cars and Fast women. Not one for relationship, just a good time with a female companion, until he met her.
Paislie, loved her job as a Pyshical Therapist, she doesn't have time for a relationship, she doesn't trust a man with her heart after being left as a young child by her father. Until she meets Him.
When she accidentally runs into a Sexy as Sin Race Car Driver named Malcolm, this starts a chain reaction that will put both of them in each other's path. Malcolm will stop at nothing to get Paislie into his bed. When a life changing event happens, to get through it they will both need to work with each other. Will Malcolm realize that the woman that he can't get off his mind is the game changer. Will he grab it or will he let her slip through his fingers. Are you ready to race around the track and find that Adrenaline Rush. Well buckle up. I would recommend to read IGNITE first.

If you read Ignite, you met Malcom Wallace. An adrenaline junky driven by his need for speed and women. But there's more to Malcom's story than you would expect. He has a past that has left him hurting and turning love away.

"Racing was my life. I needed the rush. I craved it. I had to have it to keep all my other demons away."

When he meets Paisley Malcom is overwhelmed by the instant emotions that overtake him. Paisley helps Malcom recover not just his body but his heart as well.

"Her smile makes me smile. Her laugh calms me down and her strength is inspiring. She believes in me... She brought me back to life and I need her.”

I enjoyed seeing Emmitt and Adaline back and hearing more of their story as I read Malcom and Paisley's story unfold and entertains together.

"She’s the rush I’ve been searching for this whole time.”

I honestly don't what to say
I have been a fan of Kelly's since Wanted came out. Her books just get better and better. The last time I swooned this much was over Jeff Johnson. Malcolm is just so Alpha in everything he does. Doesn't matter if it's racing a car or going for the girl he loves, he takes command of the situation and just makes it all go his way. He is just that amazing. At first if Ignite I thought he was an arrogant POS. But is Adrenaline he changed my mind.
Paislie also blew me away. My heart broke for her when the story started when she was only 8 yrs old. To be honest I loved the way Sister Elizabeth handled him. I would never want to mess with that lady....lol.
Kelly you did it again.

Malcolm in book one to me was a jerk and only cared about himself and racing. This story gave us a totally different guy than what I was expecting. His past prohibited him from opening his heart until a beautiful green eyed girl bumped into him and gave him a new adrenaline rush. Paisley (love that name) is a girl who has been let down more times by the men she cared about that she had decided to protect her heart from more heartache. Then she decides to try one more time and well you will just have to read this story to see what happens.

I do hope there will eventually be a third book or fourth book with the kids.

I Listened to the Audiobook of this story.

This is book two in this duet about NAS car drivers and Wow it was just as Amazing as the first book.
Kelly Elliott totally surprised me with the way she wrote Malcolm's story.
Because I really thought it was going to be a whole different scenario for him I thought he would end up with a certain woman....But no he fell for Paislie.
Malcolm is a total player he has woman begging for his attention all the time, and is now best friends with his rival Emmitt and I Loved their friendship.
Paislie is also a player she is not interested in any relationship after being orphaned when she was just a small child. St Patrick's Church was her home and Sister Elizabeth was her mother figure.
Malcolm is now the poster boy for NAS car racing and when he literally bumps into Paislie he knows he has to have her.
I have to say I Loved Sister Elizabeth and her attraction to one of the priest's...OMG there is a story there begging to be told.
Anyway Malcolm and Paislie are perfect for one another and the chemistry they feel towards eachother is explosive.
But not everything is smooth sailing and they have some hurdles to get over before they can truly be happy.
I Loved this story it was Steamy and romantic and funny too the banter is great at times.
Also Narrated by Ava Lucas and Tyler Johnson which as always was absolutely perfect,I found myself laughing whenever they expressed laughter and they are just so easy to listen to..I loved them.
This is another triumph for Kelly Elliott and I have completely enjoyed myself listening to both books.
An Excellent story
Loved it and I highly recommend it.

4 ADRENALINE STARS (★★★★)

*** Disclaimer: I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. However, this doesn’t affect my opinion of this book and the words in this review. ***

I’d only talked to this man twice and yet each time he brought out emotions I’d never before experienced in my life. I wasn’t sure if I should be thrilled beyond belief, or scared shitless.

Even though I haven’t read the first novel in the Speed series, Ignite, I wanted to read Adrenaline as my first Kelly Elliott novel. Luckily these two books can also be read as standalones, because Ignite is about Emmit and Adaline, who do play a big part in this novel, and Adrenaline contains Malcolm and Paislie’s love story. Well, I am in love… with Malcolm and Paislie, with Emmit and Adaline, and with Kelly Elliott. Because this author really knows how to sell a believable and emotional romance between two broken people who both didn’t think they were capable of giving and receiving love.

“I didn’t invite you here with hopes that I could fuck you. There are plenty of women out there that I could pick up and fuck.” She swallowed hard as I kept her eyes trained on mine. “I invited you here because you make me feel different.”

After losing, what he thought was, the one girl he ever loved at a very young age, Malcolm knew he could never love someone else. To him women are not for feelings, but for f***ing. Malcolm believes he isn’t capable to develop romantic feelings for a female person, but that doesn’t stop him feeling longing for a family of his own every time he sets his eyes on his new best friend Emmit with his perfect wife and child. The only time Malcolm can feel again is when he is feeling the adrenaline rush while racing.

The broken Paislie also thinks she isn’t capable to love another human being. Which is quite logical if you think about the fact that after losing her mother to death, her father didn’t want her and left her at the orphanage when she was just a small child. Scared to open up her heart to men, because she fears they will leave her just like her father did, she uses sex to forget about life. Time and time again the men in her life prove to her what she already knows, she is not meant to love or to be loved. Paislie finds it very important to always be honest and she expects the same of the people in her life.

After a sizzling first meeting, both are overcome with these rare feelings for each other. Feelings they have never felt before and thought they could never feel at all. When both know only how to interact through sex, they are shocked to find out things between them are about so much more. They actually want to get to know each other. But maybe they were both right, maybe they were never meant to trust and love. It is all being put to the test when the worst imaginable thing happens.

“When you’ve been lied to your whole life by people, especially men, you learn how to read when people are telling the truth and when they’re not.”

I started reading and I was a little bit disappointed. I don’t know exactly what caused it, but I had trouble getting into the story and creating a bond with the characters. It may had to do something with the fact that everything went at a fast pace, without anything actually happening in the first, let’s say, seven chapters. I was just waiting for the moment that Paislie and Malcolm would meet.

Luckily, their first encounter, and the rest of the novel, made up for a lot. That encounter was crackling with sexual tension. Sparks were literally flying. And after that I had no problem with being fully engorged in the budding romance between Paislie and Malcolm. They had a very easy connection and we slowly got to know them as they got to know each other.

I loved their witty banter a lot and I thought Paislie’s need to always be honest, resulting in her being very blunt, refreshing. She always said what was on her mind and she wanted Malcolm to do the same. Even though she was scared as hell about everything going on between them, she knew that honesty and trust were two of the most important things to have from the start. Although Malcolm sometimes found it difficult to tell the truth, he was very cute and romantic. Totally swoon-worthy. And both their stories, the things they went through, were really heartbreaking and heart wrenching.

For the little amount of time I had spent with her, I had become addicted. It was as if she was a drug, and I needed a fix every single day.

The novel started strong with the prologue, as it showed two important events in the earlier lives of Malcolm and Paislie. Events that shaped them into the persons they are now. The prologue really gave you a better understanding of why they were having certain thoughts and the reason behind the way they reacted in some situations.

So after that big stumbling block of almost nothing happening, I was very pleased with Kelly’s writing style and her choice for small chapters. It eases you into the story and makes you flip the pages at a record speed. Everything Kelly describes was so visual I could really see Adrenaline being turned into a movie. Especially with the perfect ending.

First I thought the book was dragging a bit in the end, but after finishing the entire novel, I think it was a very smart choice Kelly made. It gave me the opportunity to really get a good feeling of closure for not only Malcolm and Paislie’s story, but also Emmit and Adaline’s. I also really liked the friendship between the four. And the epilogue was too sweet to put into words. I absolutely loved it! After reading about Emmit and Adaline in Adrenaline, I can’t wait to get to know their story in Ignite.

I never in a million years thought I would be uttering the words I was about to say. “I’m falling in love with you, Paislie.”

Adrenaline centers around letting go of the past. But also tells a story about learning how to love and to be loved, new beginnings. It shows how to forgive and forget after getting hurt. It’s daring you to trust, when you are scared to let people in. Friendship also plays a very important part in this beautiful tale with an exceptional happily ever after. Adrenaline is touching, emotional and full with love. You should really, really, really pick this one up.

“I can’t promise myself to you forever because I promised my heart to Paislie. I think before I even met her my heart was hers.”

I was so excited for Malcolm's story after meeting and falling for him in the first book, Ignite. Malcolm Wallace is a hot young racecar driver who loves extreme adventure. He also is an unapologetic player who never wants to settle down with one woman. That is until he meets Paislie Pruitt. She's beautiful, fun and confident, and calls to him like no other. Paislie was abandoned at an orphanage when she was young, never getting adopted. She grew close to Sister Elizabeth, who became her confidant, and a shoulder to lean on. Paislie worked hard to make a good life for herself and become a physical therapist. She also never wanted to settle down, only casual dating, until she met Malcolm. They knew they were something more than casual, taking it slow, and falling hard along the way. Until something happens, driving Paislie away. After an accident sidelines Malcolm, he knows that Paislie is the only one who can help him heal, body, heart and soul. But he will have to work hard to convince her that he is the only man who will love her forever and never leave. I loved the way Malcolm and Paislie challenged each other, helping them heal and become stronger. Their banter was fun and their chemistry was off the charts! I also loved all their family and friends, along with Emmit and Adaline who helped make this story even more fun and heartwarming.
Ava Lucas, and Tyler Johnson continue to bring this beautiful, poignant, sizzling story to life. They portrayed the fun and flirty banter between Paislie and Malcolm beautifully while breaking down both of their walls. I enjoyed their performances that took my breath away while making me laugh, smile and swoon all at the same time.

Malcolm Wallace - had me intrigued all throughout book 1 and I was excited I could immediately listen to his story! What a twist at the very beginning with the heroine of his story not being who I expected with how the epilogue from book 1 and the first chapters of this book went!! I wasn't sure about the change but it really worked out well in the end.

Malcolm lost the love of his life once before and has never put his heart back out on the line. Paisley has always been let down by the men in her life either by not truly loving her, lying, or leaving her. When Paisley and Malcolm meet there is an instant attraction and undeniable chemistry.

I adored Malcolm's niece Sophie - she was such a cute kid who added some humor to the story.

Malcolm's romantic side was amazing and to see his love bloom for Paisley made my heart happy. He made mistakes along the way but he truly loved her and needed her in his life!

Paisley had a good heart and I loved her relationship with Elizabeth. She did run when she got scared/overwhelmed but it was understandable with her past and I loved how Elizabeth was such a voice of reason for her.

Narrators - Ava Lucas and Tyler Johnson were wonderful to listen to

****IF you do NOT like to see the main characters in low/medium spicy scenes outside of the book couple, skip this book ***

main character twist - Malcolm and Paislie

Surprise twist at the beginning when Paislie was introduced instead of Ashley (okay, I guess you figured that out with the blurb but still). Malcolm is a huge NASCAR-driving man-ho whose love of life died when he was younger. Paislie grew up in a church orphanage and not really willing to give her heart to someone fully. Slow burn with lots of ups and downs in the relationship.

There are a lot of sexy times with people other than the two MCs (but no cheating as none occurred when they were in an official relationship) but it was just too much more me (more of them apart than together???)

Narration - same as the previous book - Ava Lucas great, Tyler Johnson, not so much - turns out I'm not a fan of him narrating.

5 star review of Adrenaline (Speed #2) by Kelly Elliott
AUDIO REVIEW:
Book two in the Speed series was just as entertaining and well written as the first book. To be honest I didn't particularly warm to Malcolm Wallace in the previous book but Kelly Elliott turned my opinion around.

I new that the woman who would bring him to his knees would need to be special and Paislie Pruitt is certainly that. She could give as good as she got and I liked that she wasn’t afraid to stand up for what and who she believes in.

Neither of them believe in love but as their rocky journey progressed they found themselves opening up to one another. The narration by Tyler Johnson and Ava Lucas really brought the characters and story to life for me and I really enjoyed their narration.

No cliffhanger
Standalone, though part of a larger series
Told from both POVs
No major editing errors

I have read every book by this author and somehow she makes them all not seem like the same ole story. This series in particular has been fun to read. These guys love adrenaline and the feeling they get being behind the wheel of a car going a million miles and hour, but somehow it is the women in their life that knock them on their a**es.

Malcolm is a no nonsense, not looking for love manwhore. Paislie is the girl next door who hasn't ever believed in love because she never received any growing up.

When their worlds collide there is an instant attraction but neither of them believes in what they are feeling, in fact they continually ask themselves what the heck are these feelings I am having.

Needless to say as with most books, just when things look like they will work out all hell breaks loose.

Will Malcolm be able to move on and forget the demons of his past and will Paislie ever be able to truly believe someone will love her and actually stick around?

You will have to read to find out but this was definitely a book I couldn't put down. I hope there are more where this one came from... Perhaps Malcolm's sisters love story.

Great read!
