The pictures inside this picture book are soft, muted shades just like the cover. You would think my boys would want something a little more action packed, but this is one of their favorites. It gets picked again and again. Here's two of MY favorite samples of the text:
"Some answers are loud - like when you ask your mom if you can have a pet snake.
Some answers don't make any noise at all - like when you ask, 'Can I get in bed with you?' and your parents scoot over to make a place just your size between them."
There are soft answers, answers that make you feel lonely, answers that cause excitement, answers that come in the form of questions, etc. Lots and lots of answers are covered. At the end, there is the answer from Heaven. (You knew that was coming, right?)
I guess my children like this one so much because they relate to everything. The teacher telling them it's not their turn (my boys get that a lot in Sunday School), the mom telling them to brush their teeth when they ask to stay up later, etc... well, except the pet snake thing. They KNOW better than to ask that! :D
