Looking for a biblical book on Marriage? You've found it. Recognizing that the idea of marriage originated with God, Charles Swindoll calls for a fresh and detailed look at God's original blueprint for marriage and the home.
Charles Swindoll has devoted over four decades to two passions: an unwavering commitment to the practical communication and application of God's Word, and an untiring devotion to seeing lives transformed by God's grace. Chuck graduated magna cum laude from Dallas Theological Seminary and has since been honored with four doctorates. For his teaching on Insight for Living, he has received the Program of the Year award and the Hall of Fame award from the National Religious Broadcasters as well as multiple book awards.
Having read a lot of mediocre books before this, it was great to read a really good book.
Thorough, straight to the point, gentle but not hiding from the truth, chuck swindoll's book on marriage is the best I've read yet. It was recommended as pre-marriage counselling reading... Only got round to it five years later. A perfect time to read it, in my opinion. Right when you're in the thick of it, it's good to be reminded why and to be pointed to the beauty of marriage and what it mirrors.
A perfect blend of scriptural wisdom and practical advice. Written over 35 years ago, it is ever more applicable today.
Wow! This book has revolutionized the way I see marriage. Thank you Charles Swindoll for writing from your heart and saying it like it is - nothing held back! This book sliced through my heart and woke me up to my role in this marriage partnership. I have to come to realize I've done a huge disservice to my husband. I've become complacent and have not kept my promises before him or God. What a difference our marriage has seen since I read this book. I highly recommend this book to every married couple out there drifting along with the status quo. Wake up!
After reading quite a number of books on marriage and how to make it work, this book changed my life completely. Having been raised by a single mother, marriage did not make much sense until a little later in life and through successful and well established marriages around me, from my grandparents to uncles and aunties, I believed in this holy union. Now being a married man myself, I wish I had read this book way earlier because the content is all based from the Bible and it works. We just have to be willing/committed the keeping the union of marriage.
During a brief separation, I read close to twenty books on marriage, searching for hope and answers. This book on marriage, backed by scripture, was one of the best out there. I loved the fact that it was written in the perspective of someone who has lived through the struggles that inevitably arise in marriage rather than the clinical approach.
